This article describes the clinicopathologic features of six cases of uterine papillary serous carcinoma (UPSC), which developed several years after radiation therapy (RT) for cervical carcinoma. The ...possible etiologic role of radiation is discussed, and the literature on endometrial carcinomas developing after RT is reviewed.

Liesegang rings (LRs) are acellular, ringlike structures that may from within and around inflamed or necrotic tissue. LRs are most commonly found within the kidneys, synovium, and eyelid and in ...association with pelvic inflammatory disease and other infectious processes. LRs are only rarely found within the female genital tract, usually within endometriotic cysts or around areas of chronic inflammation. Three additional patients with LRs associated with endometriosis are described. In one of them, LRs occurred at the edge of an endometriotic cyst adjacent to a well-differentiated endometrioid adenocarcinoma of the ovary. All cases were characterized by the presence of multiple eosinophilic, sharply demarcated ringlike structures that were highlighted by the periodic acid-Schiff method. LRs within the female genital tract, which appear to be closely related to endometriosis, should be distinguished from both benign or malignant processes.
Metallic carbon nanotubes are being considered as a candidate for to potentially replace Copper as an interconnect material in future generation integrated circuits. In this paper we examine ...electronic transport behavior in metallic carbon nanotubes using a self consistent non equilibrium Green's function (NEGF) methodolgy including effects of electron phonon interactions Results show that conductivity is seen to decrease in the ballistic limit due to localized disorder effects even with a weak disorder potential. We were also able to show that optical phonons (LO/TO modes) are the dominant mechanisms that govern the mean free path of conduction. Our calculations show an excellent match with experiement.
During its four years of photometric observations, the Kepler space telescope detected thousands of exoplanets and exoplanet candidates. One of Kepler's greatest heritages has been the confirmation ...and characterization of hundreds of multi-planet systems via Transit Timing Variations (TTVs). However, there are many interesting candidate systems displaying TTVs on such long time scales that the existing Kepler observations are of insufficient length to confirm and characterize them by means of this technique. To continue with Kepler's unique work we have organized the "Kepler Object of Interest Network" (KOINet). The goals of KOINet are, among others, to complete the TTV curves of systems where Kepler did not cover the interaction timescales well. KOINet has been operational since March, 2014. Here we show some promising first results obtained from analyzing seven primary transits of KOI-0410.01, KOI-0525.01, KOI-0760.01, and KOI-0902.01 in addition to Kepler data, acquired during the first and second observing seasons of KOINet. While carefully choosing the targets we set demanding constraints about timing precision (at least 1 minute) and photometric precision (as good as 1 part per thousand) that were achieved by means of our observing strategies and data analysis techniques. For KOI-0410.01, new transit data revealed a turn-over of its TTVs. We carried out an in-depth study of the system, that is identified in the NASA's Data Validation Report as false positive. Among others, we investigated a gravitationally-bound hierarchical triple star system, and a planet-star system. While the simultaneous transit fitting of ground and space-based data allowed for a planet solution, we could not fully reject the three-star scenario. New data, already scheduled in the upcoming 2018 observing season, will set tighter constraints on the nature of the system.
Carbon nanotubes, especially the ones with diameters of the order of a few nanometers exhibit correlated electron transport and are best described using the Tomanaga Luttinger liquid model. Recently ...the TL model was used to create a convenient transmission line like phenomenological model for carbon nanotubes. In this paper, we have attempted to quantify the quantum capacitances of individual metallic single walled carbon nanotubes and bundles of single walled tubes. Quantum capacitances and values of the interaction parameter `g' are presented for small diameter metallic nanotubes while quantum capacitances are calculated for bundles of carbon nanotubes.

A young female married for the last 2 years but without any issue presented with lump in the right upper abdomen. This was proved to be a subcapsular liver abscess on USG and CT scan and proved to be ...tubercular on needle aspiration cytology. She was given four drugs antitubercular treatment (ATT). After four months of ATT she conceived and it was decided by both parents to continue the pregnancy. The three drug ATT was continued throughout the pregnancy and she delivered a perfectly healthy baby. Upto three months follow up the mother and baby were perfectly healthy. The subcapsular tubercular liver abscess is extremely rare and conception during treatment may be the first case in literature.
