The objective of this study was to identify the main chemical components of the essential oil of Cuminum cyminum L. (cumin) and of the fixed oils of Bertholletia excelsa (Brazil nut) and of ...Helianthus annuus (sunflower seed). As well as testing the three oils and three different commercial synthetic acaricides against engorged females of Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus in order to explore their acaricidal efficacy. Six different concentrations of the oils (200, 100, 50, 25, 12.5 and 6.25 mg/mL) and the active principles were evaluated with the Adult Immersion Test (AIT). The two main chemicals components of C. cyminum L. were the cuminaldehyde and the γ-terpinene. In both B. excelsa and H. annuus were the linoleic and oleic acid. C. cyminum L. showed high acaricidal activity (100%) over the engorged females and on their reproductive characteristat from the concentration of 100 mg/mL. B. excelsa and H. annuus had low acaricidal activity (39.39% and 58.75% in the concentration of 200 mg/mL respectively). The amidine and the pyrethroid (35.12% and 1.50% respectively). It can be concluded that the oil of C. cyminum L. may be a phytoterapic alternative for the cattle's tick control.
The Center for Materials and Sterilization (CME) is the department responsible for processing health products (PPS) and its mission is to provide properly processed materials for nursing services. ...This study aimed to describe the role of nurses in the sterilized material center. The Methodology is a bibliographic review of the literature, with a search in the Scopus, Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (Lilacs), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), PubMed and Virtual Health Library (BVS) databases.). Central axes of the work of nurses in the CME stand out, such as the development of department management and educational activities. In addition, some of the challenges faced by professionals can be identified. The nurse's role in the CME begins in the unit's planning phase, where he selects the physical and human resources based on the activities to be carried out in the sector. The nurse is responsible for the selection, training and adequacy of the team, taking into account the operations and activities to be carried out in the unit. It is concluded that the nurses who work in the CME and evaluate the frequency with which the activities assigned to this professional were carried out in this professional unit, which is characterized as a sector of a health institution and whose work process includes specific knowledge and practices, whose goals and objectives differ from the other units of the institution. Due to its characteristics, it is recognized for the nature of the work of indirect production of care, which instrumentalizes help in the field of health, providing the necessary support for the various care activities.

Syphilis is a Sexually Transmitted Infection caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum, with various forms of clinical presentations and different stages. When not diagnosed and treated early, it ...can cause harm to the pregnant woman and fetus. The present study aimed to identify the characteristics of the epidemiological profile of pregnant women affected by syphilis in the city of Cacoal between 2016 and 2020. Descriptive, retrospective and quantitative documentary research, where the initial sample consisted of 95 pregnant women who were registered in the database SINAN data with a diagnosis of Gestational Syphilis. The collected data were distributed and presented by means of statistics through tables and/or graphs elaborated after the analysis. The study complies with CONEP Resolution No. 466/2012 and was developed after approval by the CEP under Opinion 5,060,962. As a result of the research, it was identified that the year with the highest notification rate was in 2020, totaling 26% of cases, the predominance of the diagnosis was stopped in the first gestational trimester with 53%, in relation to age there was a variation between 14 and 41 years. of age, with an average age of 23 years and greater involvement in the young population, from 21 to 30 years of age, comprising 45% of the sample, 33% have completed high school and only 2% have completed higher education. Regarding the clinical classification, 76% of the cases were diagnosed as tertiary syphilis, the rapid test was performed in 84% of the pregnant women and the VDRL in 94%, in both with a predominant reagent result rate, without the occurrence of concomitant non-performance of the tests, it was observed that the titration 8 of VDRL/RPR was predominant, totaling 18% of the cases studied. It is concluded that the increase in the number of cases, the predominance in the young population with complete secondary education, the diagnosis in the first trimester, however prevalently in the tertiary phase, and the failure to perform the rapid test in part of the cases, although the Ministry of Health recommends, highlight the need for improvements in the effectiveness of prenatal care and to outline strategies for prevention, promotion and health awareness.
