Studies monitoring the impact of different types of industrial pollution on ecosystems using the histomorphological method have been conducted. The stages of formation and development of changes in ...the main body systems of the organism in mouselike rodents living near rivers of the Norilsk industrial region are noted. Despite their external well-being, numerous structural morphological pathologies were found in the organs and tissues of the examined mice that inhabit the polluted territories. Disorders of the hematopoietic organs and an imbalance of the organs of the endocrine system may be a consequence of disruption of stabilizing mechanisms or of the accelerated depletion of reserve capacities of the systems under study.
Aim. To develop the optimal method for the synthesis of new polysubstituted thienylpyrroles and study them as cereal growth stimulants. Results and discussion. Preparative methods for the synthesis ...of 4-(5-carboxythiophen-2-yl)-3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid, 5-(5-carboxythiophen-2-yl)-2,4-dimethyl-1H-pyrrol-3-carboxylic acid and ethyl 4-(4-amino-5)-thoxycarbonyl (thiophen-2-yl)-3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylate have been developed by step reactions. 4-(5-Carboxythiophen-2-yl)-3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid is the most promising for the study of the growth-stimulating activity on grain seeds. Experimental part. Using ethyl 4-acyl-3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylate and ethyl 5-acetyl-2,4-dimethyl- 1H-pyrrole-3-carboxylate as starting compounds 4-(5-carboxythiophen-2-yl)-3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic and 5-(5-carboxythiophen-2-yl) 2,4-dimethyl-1H-pyrrol-3-carboxylic acid were obtained. By the action of the Wilsmeier-Haack reagent on the latter the corresponding pyrroles with the chlorvinylcarbaldehyde fragment were isolated; their post-cyclization with ethyl ester of thioglycolic acid and the subsequent hydrolysis leads to the formation of thienylpyroldicarboxylic acids. The study of the physiological activity of the compounds synthesized was performed on seeds of different varieties of wheat and barley. Conclusions. By means of sequential reactions the polysubstituted thienylpyrrolcarboxylic acids previously unknown and their esters have been synthesized. The features of the study of these compounds as plant growth stimulants have been revealed.
At the current moment, in order to increase the crop yield and improve the quality of food, pharmaceutical, industrial and energy products, a search for novel environmentally friendly plant treatment ...agents is given a top priority. Hence the task of finding chemical regulators and stimulators of plant growth that would alter the developmental cycle of crops most effectively at the lowest toxicity level is of utmost relevance. While studying the cytotoxic effects of plant treatment agents on sprouts of plants belonging to the Cucumis genus, a quinoline derivative (a compound under the KM-38 laboratory code) was observed to have a significant stimulating effect, which became a prerequisite for the in-depth studies that followed. The paper presents the results of laboratory studies of the effect of quinoline derivatives on monocotyledonous (soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L)) and dicotyledonous (cultivated soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill)) plants. In order to assess its activity, the growth-regulating effect of KM-61 compound, which has a structure similar to that of main heteroauxins (indole-3-acetic acid), was investigated. The activity of compounds was examined on the basis of seed samples of soft winter wheat («Zemlyachka», «Kiriya», «Selyanka», «Kosovytsia», «Vdala») and soybean («Masha», «Opheliya», «Sedmytsia», «Sprynt», «Sharm») cultivars. The results of the studies confirmed the existence of growth-stimulating properties of the investigated compounds. Sprouts of monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous plants have different sensitivity to the activity of the growth regulators. KM-61 compound appears to be more efficient with regard to soft winter wheat sprouts. It caused the increase in the growth of the root system, which varied depending on a given cultivar and a concentration of the chemical agent, of up to 49% (19% in the case of a plant's hypocotyl). KM-38 compound showed a moderate effect on the cultivars of soft winter wheat under study. The biggest impact on the growth of soybean sprouts came from KM-38 plant treatment agent (stem length increased up to 50%, and the root - up to 30%), the greatest effect being noticeable with regard to the «Sharm» and «Opheliya» cultivars. It should be noted that the selected compounds exhibit low toxicity when dealing with warm-blooded animals and are capable of growth-stimulating activity even at very low concentrations (0.001-0.00005%). The obtained results show considerable promise regarding a further study of the aforementioned compounds in the direction of discovering new types of growth stimulants.
The paper characterizes placental growth factors in the third trimester of pregnancy. The placental expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and transforming growth factor-beta2 ...(TGFbeta2) was studied in miscarriage after 34-37 weeks pregnancy and during term labor. Chronic placental insufficiency was diagnosed in miscarriage. The expression of VEGF and TGFbeta2 with trophoblast and decidual cells was decreased in miscarriage as compared with that during uncomplicated pregnancy. The growth factors under study are markers of chronic placental insufficiency in third-trimester miscarriage.
The paper analyzes a death due to undiagnosed asymmetric hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in an 8-month-old baby. The peculiarities of this case are the extent of myocardial damage, the irreversibility of ...structural injuries in the absence of clinical symptoms, and a concurrence of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and severe pneumonia and meningoencephalitis.

The paper provides a review of literature on primary cardiomyopathy yet referring to as an inadequately studied abnormality that is diagnosed with difficulty by clinicians and frequently missed by ...pathologists at autopsy.
Total activity of NO-synthetase and content of nitrates and nitrites in immunocompetent cells of rat peripheral blood under the influence of fraction x-ray radiation and peroral administration of ...L-NAME were studied. It was shown that administration of L-NAME leads to inhibition of nitric oxide cytotoxic effect by reducing itproduction under the influence of low doses of x-ray radiation.
To detect additional markers of placental insufficiency in gestosis accompanied by labor impairments, the authors have performed a comprehensive placental morphological study using organometric, ...histological, morphometric, and immunohistochemical techniques. Along with the earlier established markers, VEGF and vWF have been found to be additional markers of placental insufficiency. The latter make it possible not only to diagnose, but also to specify the stages of placental insufficiency. Perspectives for using the above agents are outlined.
100 placentas were studied and various forms of gestosis were diagnosed. Inflammation was frequent in weak activity of uterus. Discoordination of contractile uterus activity results in redistribution ...of fetal circulation resulting in vascular pathology of the umbilical cord and villi, in part gestation of vessels of terminal and intermedial villi and anemisation of trunk villi.
