A series of metal-organic frameworks representing a non-interpenetrated framework analogue of MOF-14 have been synthesized by using two different linkers, 4,4',4''-benzene-1,3,5-triyl-benzoic acid ...(H(3)BTB) and 4,4'-bipyridine (Bpy). Interestingly, the transition metal ions in the paddle-wheel metal clusters could be exchanged by other transition metal ions via a direct single-crystal to single-crystal transformation. This post-synthesis route can be used for synthesis of isomorphous metal-organic frameworks that cannot be obtained by direct synthesis.

In our research there has already been expressed the idea that from the point of view of overcoming big obstacles like escarpments, multi-axial all-wheel vehicles should have advantages over biaxial ...vehicles with 4x4 wheel arrangement. A thorough analysis of the movement process of a 8x8 wheeled vehicle on the escarpment which height exceeds the radius of the wheel is made. It was proved that such a vehicle can overcome the escarpment that almost twofold exceeds height of similar obstacles that a 4x4 wheeled vehicle overcomes.
A device for non-contact measurement of the error of stereotactic guidance using different types of brain neu-rosurgery equipment is presented. The targeting accuracies of two different methods of ...application of the Russian stereotactic system POANIC have been compared. The obtained results make it possible to dispense with mechanical modeling of the intracerebral space during surgery, leading to reductions in the duration and complexity of surgery.
A comparative analysis of binary compounds and 61 simple anhydrous salts My(LO3)z (L = S, Se, Te, Cl, Br, I) was performed using the crystallochemical program package TOPOS. A topological similarity ...was found between the salts and six types of binary compounds (NaCl, NiAs, PoCl2, Tl2S2, ZnTe, rutile). It is notable that these structure relationships are typical for other groups of inorganic salts: borates, carbonates, nitrates, orthophosphates, orthoarsenates, sulfates, selenates, perchlorates, molybdates and halogenides of d‐metals. For all the My(LO3)z compounds the topology and uniformity of the ion arrays were investigated. It has been established that in 36 out of the 61 salts at least one ion array has the topology of close packing or the body‐centred cubic lattice. The results obtained have allowed us to come to conclusions about the structure‐forming role of the arrays of various chemical composition.
The article is concerned with the discussion between the author of a new equation of the wheel machine motion who is the doctor of technical science, professor G I Mamiti and his opponents. The ...discussion continues over a year. The opponents note that the initial hypothesis taken as the basis at development of the new equation is incorrect and unreasonable by consideration of process of reduction of forces influencing a car body to contact of driving wheels with the road. As a result, large mistakes can take place when using this equation for calculations of dynamic properties of the cars. Four doctors and three candidates of technical sciences have expressed negatively about the new equation. Nobody in the central technical press has expressed positively. Therefore, it has been offered to finish a discussion currently.

The Fokker–Planck equation derived by Brown for the probability density function of the orientation of the magnetic moment of single domain particles is one of the basic equations in the theory of ...superparamagnetism. Brown’s equation has an analytical solution, which is represented as a series in spherical harmonics with time-dependent coefficients. This analytical solution is commonly used when studying problems related to Brown’s equation. However, for particles with complex magnetic anisotropy, calculating the coefficients of the analytical solution can be a rather difficult task. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for the numerical solution of Brown’s equation based on the finite element method. The algorithm allows numerically solving Brown’s equation for particles with anisotropy of a fairly general form for constant and variable magnetic fields and with time-dependent temperature and other model parameters. In particular, an example of the numerical solution of an equation for particles with cubic anisotropy accounting two anisotropy constants and variable temperature is presented.

Here we report about the latest ...evaluation of the performance of solar blind flat-panel sensors developed by us, for the detection of flames, sparks and smoke. These developments will make it possible to build detectors almost 1000 times more sensitive than the best commercial flame sensor presently available on the market, with 100 times better time resolution, and with ultraviolet imaging capability for flame visualization.
