The aim of this cross-sectional study was to examine the association of supernatural beliefs and sense of coherence with death anxiety and death depression in a Romanian sample of cancer patients. We ...found support for the terror management theory worldview defence hypothesis postulating the presence of a curvilinear relation between death anxiety and supernatural beliefs among cancer patients. Results conformed to an inverted U-shape quadratic regression, indicating that cancer patients who scored moderately on supernatural beliefs were afraid of death the most, while death anxiety was lowest for the extreme atheists and extreme believers in supernatural entities.

The clinical and empirical literature on attachment and parental style in incomplete families focuses on children whose parents work abroad, children whose parents divorced or children who lost a ...parent. This article seeks to review previous studies and develop a general model of separation between children from incomplete families. Four major topics are reviewed to develop an understanding of attachment and parental style in incomplete families: (1) psychological and economic consequences of parental migration; (2) divorce and its links to attachment style, well-being and socioeconomic status (SES); (3) psychological and economic consequences of parental death; and (4) the comparison between parental death and divorce concerning children's well-being. The purpose of the article is to develop a general model of parental separation regarding attachment and parental style.
