The effects of exposure to two different stress factors—a weak static magnetic field (WSMF) with a magnetic induction of 200 μT and oligopeptide epigenetic regulators—were studied. The results of ...explant exposure to tissue-specific oligopeptides and to WSMF were comparable. Experiments on cognitive behavior suggested that oligopeptides Ala–Glu–Asp–Pro and Lys–Glu–Asp–Ala had a beneficial effect on medium-term memory formation. It is noted that external WSMFs efficiently affect biological objects due to their high penetrating capacity in biological media.
Background. The ongoing pandemic of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) determines the relevance of the analysis of epidemiological patterns of SARS-CoV-2 spread among the population of the ...Russian Federation.Aim — study of the manifestations of the epidemic process of COVID-19 in the Russian Federation in 2020–2022.Materials and methods. A retrospective epidemiological analysis of the incidence of COVID-19 in the Russian Federation was carried out from 03/30/2020 to 04/24/2022. The data from the Rospotrebnadzor report No. 970 “Information on cases of infectious diseases in persons with suspected new coronavirus infection”, information portal Stopcoronavirus.rf, etc. were used. The presence of SARS-CoV-2 RNA was confirmed by real-time RT-PCR.Results and discussion. The analysis of the manifestations of the epidemic process of COVID-19 in the Russian Federation in 2020–2022 showed the presence of two stages which differed depending on the influence of the biological factor and the ongoing anti-epidemic measures. There was a pronounced trend in the development of the epidemic process, starting from megacities (Moscow, Moscow region and St. Petersburg), which are major transport hubs and centers of migration activity of the population, to the regions of the Russian Federation. The SARS-CoV-2 pathogenicity has been shown to decrease with each subsequent cycle of the rise in the incidence of COVID-19 against the background of the increased contagiousness of the virus.Conclusion. As a result of the study, risk areas (megacities) and risk groups were identified.
We consider a system consisting of a platform moving translationally along a fixed straight line in the presence of the viscous friction force and a body making a given translational motion along the ...same straight line relative to the platform due to internal forces. In relative motion, the value of the body velocity is bounded. It is proved that in the case of linear viscous friction, unlimited displacement of the platform in any direction is impossible. In the general case, under certain conditions imposed on the viscous friction force, the value of the velocity of the platform is bounded. In this case, if the displacement of the platform in any direction, e.g., to the right, is not limited, then the value of the velocity of the platform changes its sign an infinite number of times over time, and the total time of the platform’s motion to the left and the distance traveled tend to infinity.
Specific heat and thermal expansion in LuB
50
and TbB
50
borides at 2–300 K were experimentally studied. In both compounds, for a large range of low temperatures a negative thermal expansion caused ...by defects in the crystal lattice was observed. The effect of the crystal electric field on the thermal characteristics of TbB
50
was observed as a Schottky anomaly in the temperature dependence of the heat capacity and as an additional negative contribution to the thermal expansion. The analysis of the heat capacity data suggests that the ground state of the ion Tb
3+
is a quasi-quintet, consisting of close-located singlet and two doublets. The phase transition of TbB
50
to the antiferromagnetic state appears as a very weak broad anomaly in the temperature dependence of the heat capacity; within the scattering of the experimental data, it is not visible in the temperature dependence of the unit cell volume.
The paper discusses the method of processing the metals and alloys spectra, which were obtained using emission spectrometers with spark excitation spectra. The proposed technique makes it possible to ...build a global method for analyzing any alloys, taking into account the so-called "third elements effects".
Experiments on simulation of smoke aerosol from burning pine wood at different ratios of smoldering and flame combustion modes were carried out in the Large Aerosol Chamber of Institute of ...Atmospheric Optics, Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Science. The variability of the chemical composition of mixed smoke during the stage of its formation and during two-day aging under UV irradiation and dark aging was revealed. The dependence of the mass concentrations of light-absorbing carbon-containing particles on the mixing parameter of the smoldering and flame combustion modes is considered.
The hydroelastic oscillations problem of the sandwich beam resting on elastic foundation and interacting with the pulsating fluid layer was investigated. The three-layered beam with an incompressible ...lightweight filler was considered. The broken normal hypothesis for the three-layered beam and the model of viscous incompressible fluid, as well as Winkler model for elastic foundation, was chosen to study hyroelastic problem. A mathematical model of the considered mechanical system consists of dynamic equations of the three-layered beam with incompressible lightweight filler and the Navier-Stokes equations with continuity equation for the pulsating viscous fluid layer. The no-slip conditions and pressure coincidence at the edges with the given pressure into edges cavities were selected as boundary ones. The plane problem of hydroelastic beam bending oscillations for the regime of steady harmonic ones were considered. The solution of the hydroelastic problem was carried out by the perturbations method using proposed small parameters of the hydroelastic problem. As a result, the laws of three-layered beam elastic deflections and the hydrodynamic parameters of pulsating viscous fluid layer were obtained.
The antimicrobial activity of resin acid derivatives was studied. The highest inhibitory activity
Escherichia coli
and
Bacillus subtilis
was found to be characteristic of isomerized rosin and ...12-bromodehydroabietic acid, as well as their potassium salts. Potassium 12-sulfodehydroabietate only slightly inhibits growth of
Candida tropicalis
cells. PASS online calculation showed that all of the resin acids derivatives and their potassium salts have high mucosal (

93‒98%) and pronounced antiviral (influenza) protective activities (

70‒80%).
In 2018, in the bottom fauna of the Caspian Sea, single specimens of a previously unknown species of polychaetes were discovered. Since 2019, pelagic larvae of this species have been recorded in ...zooplankton samples. These worms are also found in the nutrition of migratory and semimigratory fish species. According to morphological features, this polychaete species is identified as
Marenzelleria arctia
, an Arctic species that dominates in the Gulf of Finland and probably invaded the Caspian along the Volga-Caspian invasion corridor.
Initiation of insulin therapy with basal insulin analogues has become the standard of care for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Timely administration of insulin allows not only to slow down the ...progression of type 2 diabetes, but also to reduce the frequency and severity of complications associated with it. This paper reviews the efficacy and safety of the use of the latest basal insulin analogues in type 2 diabetes from the perspective of current clinical guidelines, and also reviews updated data on the efficacy and safety of therapy by various members of the class. In this paper a review of the efficacy and safety of latest basal insulin analogues use in T2DM from the standpoint of current clinical guidelines has been carried out, and updated data on the efficacy and safety of therapy by various members of the class have been reviewed, taking into account their impact on the risk of hypoglycemia and glycemic variability. The available data indicate that insulin degludec 200 U/mL may be the drug of choice for those at high risk of developing severe forms of hypoglycemia. Since severe hypoglycemia and high glycemic variability are important risk factors for cardiovascular events and mortality, it has been shown that a differentiated approach to insulin therapy in the treatment of T2DM is currently advisable, taking into account the effect on the risk of hypoglycemia and glycemic variability.
