ITER CODAC is in the process of developing a tailored software solution to carry out necessary control functions for tokamak operation. CODAC has successfully completed the final review of the ...implementation of the ITER Plasma Control System (PCS) for first plasma (FP), and formally commenced its production in accordance with the conversion mechanism of the Real-Time Framework (RTF) software suite. Rich functionality of RTF built-ins and its flexibility of reconfigurable applications facilitates the development and deployment of complex real-time applications such as commonly found within PCS and the ITER diagnostics.
In the practical application of the framework, CODAC has prototyped PCS architecture components to verify how actual operation complies with the intended design. Prototyping initiates CODAC preparation for system validation and verification, and its commissioning. Agile production is based on the model presented in the PCS Simulation Platform (PCSSP). Several fundamental functions such as exception handling, quality tag controlling, and signal watchdog functionality have been implemented and continue to evolve. CODAC demonstrated a mechanism by which individual function models coordinate and cooperate with each other to achieve desired higher-level functions. Operation of prototype and real-life experiments verified the application is compliant with the design input and even adaptable and extendable in various system attributes.
This paper will introduce the PCS prototyping and its execution as well as integrated operation function in the ITER environment.

The article presents several scenarios for the development of the situation in the Russian banking system depending on different variants of changes in the Bank of Russia key rate. The scenarios ...are calculated using an optimization model of the Russian banking system, built on the principles of general equilibrium models, and an econometric add-on that allows the use of consistent scenarios of exogenous variables.

It is shown by using a model that even a minor change in prices made by the seller is sufficient to coordinate the actions of independent purchasers so that they act as a single economic agent ...pursuing the aim of maximizing the effective utility function.
Data analysis of an experiment in which photon splitting in atomic fields was observed is presented. The experiment was performed at the tagged photon beam of the ROKK-1M facility at the VEPP-4M ...collider. In the energy region of 120-450 MeV, statistics of 1.6x10(9) photons incident on the BGO target was collected. About 400 candidate photon-splitting events were reconstructed. Within the attained experimental accuracy, the experimental results are consistent with the calculated exact atomic-field cross section. The predictions obtained in the Born approximation differ significantly from the experimental results.
This article contributes to research dealing with the optimal dividend policy problem of a firm whose goal is to maximize the expected total discounted dividend payments before bankruptcy. We ...consider a model of a firm whose cash surplus exhibits regime switching, but unlike the existing literature, we exclude diffusion from our model. We assume that firm’s cash surplus follows the telegraph process, which leads to a problem of singular stochastic control. Surprisingly, this problem turns out to be more complicated than the ones arising in the models involving diffusion. We solve this problem by using the method of variational inequalities and show that the optimal dividend policy can be of three significantly different types depending on the parameters of the model.
(ProQuest: ... denotes formulae and/or non-USASCII text omitted; see image) The jet energy scale and its systematic uncertainty are determined for jets measured with the ATLAS detector at the LHC in ...proton-proton collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of ... corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 38 pb^sup -1^. Jets are reconstructed with the anti-k ^sub t^ algorithm with distance parameters R=0.4 or R=0.6. Jet energy and angle corrections are determined from Monte Carlo simulations to calibrate jets with transverse momenta p ^sub T^greater than or equal to20 GeV and pseudorapidities |eta|<4.5. The jet energy systematic uncertainty is estimated using the single isolated hadron response measured in situ and in test-beams, exploiting the transverse momentum balance between central and forward jets in events with dijet topologies and studying systematic variations in Monte Carlo simulations. The jet energy uncertainty is less than 2.5 % in the central calorimeter region (|eta|<0.8) for jets with 60less than or equal top ^sub T^<800 GeV, and is maximally 14 % for p ^sub T^<30 GeV in the most forward region 3.2less than or equal to|eta|<4.5. The jet energy is validated for jet transverse momenta up to 1 TeV to the level of a few percent using several in situ techniques by comparing a well-known reference such as the recoiling photon p ^sub T^, the sum of the transverse momenta of tracks associated to the jet, or a system of low-p ^sub T^ jets recoiling against a high-p ^sub T^ jet. More sophisticated jet calibration schemes are presented based on calorimeter cell energy density weighting or hadronic properties of jets, aiming for an improved jet energy resolution and a reduced flavour dependence of the jet response. The systematic uncertainty of the jet energy determined from a combination of in situ techniques is consistent with the one derived from single hadron response measurements over a wide kinematic range. The nominal corrections and uncertainties are derived for isolated jets in an inclusive sample of high-p ^sub T^ jets. Special cases such as event topologies with close-by jets, or selections of samples with an enhanced content of jets originating from light quarks, heavy quarks or gluons are also discussed and the corresponding uncertainties are determined.

Random (stochastic) quasi-phase matching is demonstrated for broadband radiation in a one-dimensional irregular strontium tetraborate nonlinear photonic crystal. Harmonic generation tunable in the ...range 187.5 - 215 nm is achieved. The average power of the generated signal is a quadratic function of pump power and reaches 1 {mu}W. In a steady-state model, taking into account sum frequency generation within the spectrum of the input light causes no broadening of the peaks in the spectrum of the generated signal. This Letter presents the first search for supersymmetry in final states containing one isolated electron or muon, jets, and missing transverse momentum from √s=7 TeV proton-proton collisions at the ...LHC. The data were recorded by the ATLAS experiment during 2010 and correspond to a total integrated luminosity of 35 pb(-1). No excess above the standard model background expectation is observed. Limits are set on the parameters of the minimal supergravity framework, extending previous limits. Within this framework, for A(0)=0 GeV, tanβ=3, and μ>0 and for equal squark and gluino masses, gluino masses below 700 GeV are excluded at 95% confidence level.
