This paper presents an ontology proposal for the REMPLANET FP7 project which aims at developing methods, guidelines and tools for the implementation of the Resilient Multi-Plant Networks in ...non-hierarchical manufacturing networks, characterized by noncentralized decision making. Due to structural heterogeneity of REMPLANET integration scenarios, an ontological approach seems to be a first key challenge to be addressed. Consequently, one of the main contributions of this paper is to provide an initial ontological approach, intended to harmonize domain concepts and their relationships.

Antimycotic ...susceptibility testing with flucytosine, amphotericin B, and miconazole nitrate was performed. The Alternaria was highly sensitive to the last two drugs. Miconazole nitrate, 1.2 g daily intravenously for 31 days, did not induce a clinical response. The lesions were then infiltrated with 10 mg of miconazole nitrate in 10 mL of polyethoxylated castor oil (Cremophor EL) twice weekly, with clearing of the lesions during a several-month period.
Arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM) is an inherited cardiac disease characterized by fibrofatty replacement of the myocardium. Here we present the cryo-EM reconstruction at 4.0 Å of an active Ty3 strand transfer complex bound to TFIIIB transcription factor and a tRNA gene. The structure unravels the molecular mechanisms underlying Ty3 targeting specificity at Pol III-transcribed genes and sheds light into the architecture of retrotransposon machinery during integration. Ty3 intasome contacts a region of TBP, a subunit of TFIIIB, which is blocked by NC2 transcription regulator in RNA Pol II-transcribed genes. A newly-identified chromodomain on Ty3 integrase interacts with TFIIIB and the tRNA gene, defining with extreme precision the integration site position.
Haploidentical Natural Killer (NK) cells have been shown as an effective and safe alternative for the treatment of haematological malignancies with poor prognosis for which traditional therapies are ...ineffective. In contrast to haematological cancer cells, that mainly grow as single suspension cells, solid carcinomas are characterised by a tridimensional (3D) architecture that provide specific surviving advantages and resistance against chemo- and radiotherapy. However, little is known about the impact of 3D growth on solid cancer immunotherapy especially adoptive NK cell transfer. We have recently developed a protocol to activate ex vivo human primary NK cells using B lymphoblastic cell lines, which generates NK cells able to overcome chemoresistance in haematological cancer cells. Here we have analysed the activity of these allogeneic NK cells against colorectal (CRC) human cell lines growing in 3D spheroid culture and correlated with the expression of some of the main ligands regulating NK cell activity. Our results indicate that activated NK cells efficiently kill colorectal tumour cell spheroids in both 2D and 3D cultures. Notably, although 3D CRC cell cultures favoured the expression of the inhibitory immune checkpoint PD-L1, it did not correlate with increased resistance to NK cells. Finally, we have analysed in detail the infiltration of NK cells in 3D spheroids by microscopy and found that at low NK cell density, cell death is not observed although NK cells are able to infiltrate into the spheroid. In contrast, higher densities promote tumoural cell death before infiltration can be detected. These findings show that highly dense activated human primary NK cells efficiently kill colorectal carcinoma cells growing in 3D cultures independently of PD-L1 expression and suggest that the use of allogeneic activated NK cells could be beneficial for the treatment of colorectal carcinoma.
The high levels of air contamination and presence of different pollutants are a large problem in most of the cities in which road transport is the primary source of emissions.The governments of more ...than 100 countries are adopting different policies and strategies to help reduce and mitigate their global emissions. In terms of road transport, reductions in emissions could be achieved by replacing conventional vehicle technologies or by changing the travel patterns of individuals using a private vehicle as their primary means of transportation. However, accurately quantifying the emissions related to the urban traffic from multiple possible scenarios is a very complicated task, even when appropriate tools made for this purpose are available. Here we apply a scientifically rigorous protocol to accurately estimate greenhouse and other polluting gases. We describe the methodological steps we followed to analyse the vast quantities of data available from different heterogeneous sources. This data can aid decision-makers in planning better strategies for urban transportation. We used the origin-destination matrices already available for Valencia city (Spain), as well as historical information for their street induction-loops and the phases and times of their traffic light system as our input data for the traffic model. Rather than a brute-force algorithm, we used a fast-convergence Lagrangian algorithm model which deals with that vast quantities of information. Based on the elements mentioned above together with the statistics about the types of vehicles in the city by simulations the urban mobility city's traffic was reconstructed at different times to quantify the emissions produced with a high spatial and temporal resolution.
Around two percent of asymptomatic women in labor test positive for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in Spain. Families and care providers face childbirth with ...uncertainty. We determined if SARS-CoV-2 infection at delivery among asymptomatic mothers had different obstetric outcomes compared to negative patients. This was a multicenter prospective study based on universal antenatal screening for SARS-CoV-2 infection. A total of 42 hospitals tested women admitted for delivery using polymerase chain reaction, from March to May 2020. We included positive mothers and a sample of negative mothers asymptomatic throughout the antenatal period, with 6-week postpartum follow-up. Association between SARS-CoV-2 and obstetric outcomes was evaluated by multivariate logistic regression analyses. In total, 174 asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 positive pregnancies were compared with 430 asymptomatic negative pregnancies. No differences were observed between both groups in key maternal and neonatal outcomes at delivery and follow-up, with the exception of prelabor rupture of membranes at term (adjusted odds ratio 1.88, 95% confidence interval 1.13-3.11;
= 0.015). Asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 positive mothers have higher odds of prelabor rupture of membranes at term, without an increase in perinatal complications, compared to negative mothers. Pregnant women testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 at admission for delivery should be reassured by their healthcare workers in the absence of symptoms.
