The aim of the study was to investigate how physical education classes were conducted during remote schooling. The results confirm the poorer quality and duration of physical education classes during ...remote schooling. Our findings also coincide with the findings of other studies, which show that during the COVID-19 pandemic, children’s physical/sports activity, as well as their motor functions, decreased dramatically. This study provides clear answers to all responsible stakeholders that remote schooling is not an appropriate measure from the point of view of ensuring the conditions for healthy development of children.
In alpine skiing we encounter many factors that affect the competitor to a greater or lesser extent and must be overcome or exploited in various ways. Broadly speaking, the nature of the activity ...plays its role just like the equipment, the spectators, the coach, etc., but the most important role is played by the competitor himself. Optimal synthesis is required for successful participation of top competitors with regard to physical, psychological and social skills and characteristics.
During the transformation process (training) we help the competitor with different methods and means to transform from the initial to the final state, which is basically conscious transformation of numerous skills and characteristics of the competitor with impact on their personality as well.
In this study we wanted to establish the extent to which certain anthropometric and motor skill parameters are related to competitive performance of younger boys aged 12 to 13 years in the Rauch Cup in the season 2014/15. Based on the measurements of seven tests of motor skills (MSKOK10 – Ten jumps with both feet, TESJCAS – Squat jump, MS20NVZP – 20m sprint, TREAOPTO – Optojump – Squat jump, MT400 – 400m run, MROS - Equilibrium stability index, and SKI9 – Figures-of-eight around 9 pins) and one measurement of anthropometric dimension (ABMI - Body Mass Index), we used the Pearson correlation coefficient to determine the correlation between individual variables and the performance of a sample of 34 young competitors in alpine skiing. The correlation of the whole set of variables regarding performance was determined using regression analysis. We have established a statistically significant correlation between the number of achieved points and variables MSKOK10, MS20NVZP, MT400 and SKI9 at the risk level of 1%. In the cases of TREAOPTO, MROSI and TESJCAS the correlation coefficients did not show statistically significant correlation. For the set of motor and anthropometric variables we have established a high and statistically significant linear correlation to the criteria (R=0.76, p=0.003). We have also established that the linear correlation between all motor skill variables and performance is high (R=0.72, p=0.006). The findings of this study show the suitability of the chosen variables in determining the potential success of young alpine skiers.
In the research, the relationship between individual variables of technical assessment of free and competitive style alpine skiing and the criterion variable (competitive performance) are addressed. ...The criterion variable is the total number of points that was achieved in the Rauch Ski Cup in the season 2013/2014. Twenty selected alpine skiers between the ages of 12 and 14 were included in the research. Technical knowledge and tactics of alpine skiing were assessed in the free skiing (TFS) during two giant slalom races for the Rauch Ski Cup (TCS). In order to determine bivariate correlations between the TFS and TFC variables and the competitive performance, the Pearson correlation coefficient method was used. For this particular section of the study, it was confirmed that all the variables used were significantly related to the criterion variable. In the successive test, using the calculation of multiple regression coefficients, we confirmed the high percentage of the explained variance of the two sets of measurements (TFS and TCS). In this research, the influence of technical knowledge of skiing in the free (TFS) and competitive skiing (TCS) on the competitive performance of alpine skiing in Slovenia was studied for the first time. Based on the results of the research, the foundation for both an improved concept of psychophysical and technical training and for the modernization of the selection criteria for the young competitors in alpine skiing will be proposed.
The purpose of the research was to determine whether there are any differences in selected anthropometric measurements, physical fitness tests and the average times achieved in three competitions in ...giant slalom between female and male alpine skiing competitors in category U14. The research was conducted on a sample of 40 categorized competitors, 20 boys M = 12.5; SD = 0.513 and 20 girls M = 12.55; SD = 0.510. Gender differences in selected anthropometric measurements (volume of the left knee, body mass index (BMI), and percentage of body fat), selected physical fitness tests (ten jumps on both legs, running eights, and test of stability), and ski result were assessed using t-test for independent samples. In order to assess ski result, average time from tree giant-slalom runs was used. Statistical significance was set at the α level of 0.05. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences (p <0.05) only in the percentage of body fat. We established that the levels of selected physical fitness tests in the female and male competitors aged under 14 years in the season 2013/14 are equal. It should also be noted that the groups do not differ in most of the selected anthropometric dimensions. It is therefore not surprising that the level of skiing skills, gained by female and male competitors in categoriesU14, is equal. The research results demonstrated the possibility of uniform and related training procedures and competitions in alpine skiing for boys and girls aged under 14 years.

Cilj raziskave je bil preučiti, kako je potekala izvedba ure športa med šolanjem na daljavo v Sloveniji. Rezultati potrjujejo slabšo kakovost in krajše izvedbe ure športa med šolanjem na daljavo. Z ...našimi ugotovitvami sovpadajo tudi ugotovitve drugih, da so se med pandemijo COVID-19 drastično zmanjšale gibalna/športna aktivnost (G/ŠA) otrok in njihove gibalne sposobnosti. Ta študija podaja jasne odgovore vsem odgovornim déležnikom, da šolanje na daljavo ni primeren ukrep s stališča zagotavljanja pogojev zdravega razvoja otrok.
The purpose of this study was to use a multiple regression analysis to identify the independent impact of morphological dimensions, physical fitness and technique in free and competitive Alpine ...skiing on competition performance in twenty categorized racers from various Slovenian ski clubs, girls aged 12 to 14. We used the reduced model variables of morphological dimensions - MD (the volume of the left knee, body mass index (BMI), % body fat), physical fitness - PHF (ten jumps on both legs, running eights, stability test), technique in free skiing - TEFSK (balance, movement coordination and derivation of the curve) and the technique in competitive skiing - TECSK (balance, derivation of the curve and the line of skiing). For the criterion variable, we used the total sum of the points in the Slovenian Cup in the 2013/14 season. The results showed that all four areas of measurement explain 82.6% of the variance of the points won (R² = .826), so the effect of these predictors on the competitive performance of the girls is very high (level set at p<0.05). This may show that the results of technique in competitive skiing (p<.000) in girls significantly explains the share of points won. The regression coefficients show that girls with better morphological dimensions and better technique in free skiing achieved higher scores. The study raises key areas of research in the field of technique in free and competitive skiing as the two are fundamental for achieving top results in competitive Alpine skiing.
The main aim of this study was to determine the relationship of morphologic features and body composition to physical self-concepts in boys and girls separately. This research included 630 children ...from north-eastern Slovenia, aged 9 to 11 years (M = 10.01; SD = .810), of which 311 were boys and 319 were girls. Morphologic features of the children were measured with the use of a standardized anthropometric instrumentation; the Maltron BF-907 Body Composition Analyzer was used for the measurement of body fat, fat-free mass, and body water proportions. The gender, age, and physical self-concept data were acquired through the French version of The Physical Self-Inventory – a short form questionnaire for determining the physical self-concept of adolescents, adapted to Slovenia. The relation between individual morphological features and physical self-concept was determined by regression analysis. Statistical significance was established at 0.05. The results show that the physical self-concept is more closely connected with body composition and morphologic features in boys than in girls, whereas the body fat proportion is the strongest predictor of physical self-concept in boys. The findings show that, particularly in boys, the physical self-concept is also largely based on the morphologic features and body composition. It is necessary to give special attention to boys, as we often think that boys are not as concerned with the physical appearance as girls.
