National Park Management is faced with conflicts of interest in conservation and community economics. A partnership is one of the answers to this problem. The study was conducted in the buffer area ...of Ujung Kulon National Park involving 17 respondents who were selected by purposive sampling. The results showed that the communities involved in the partnership gained legal access to harvest wild honey in forest areas, as well as ease of market access and decent prices. The partnership pattern builds awareness of farmer groups to maintain forest sustainability. They realize that if the forest is maintained, it will increase the wild honey harvest and their income.
This research aimed to determine the role of Aspergillus awamori, Aspergillus niger, and Aspergillus oryzae in degrading starch on turmeric rhizome substrate to increase the yield of turmeric oil. ...The substrate in the form of turmeric rhizome was given additional yeast extract of 10% weight per volume to meet the nutritional needs of fungal growth. The fungal concentration used in inoculation was 5x107 cells/ml. The solid-state fermentation process was carried out in dark conditions (~0 W), temperatures of 25–28 ºC, 99% humidity, and aeration (3.5 L/min). Turmeric oil was isolated using a steam distillation method for three hours, with the substrate moisture content of 68–71% and a substrate–water ratio of 1:5. The biodegradation process was conducted for 11 days. The starch content and turmeric oil yield was determined during the fermentation particularly on days 7, 9, and 11. The results showed that the biodegradation process of starch in solid-state fermentation succeeded in increasing the yield of turmeric oil. Aspergillus awamori showed the most desirable starch degradation activity by 62.5% to 2.9% wet weight on the 11th day of fermentation. Aspergillus oryzae had the most positive effect, nearly doubling the turmeric oil yield to 3.17% dry weight after 11th day of fermentation. The main constituents of turmeric oil are ?-turmerone, ?-turmerone, and ar-turmerone.
ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan bagi mengkaji peranan Aspergillus awamori, Aspergillus niger, dan Aspergillus oryzae dalam mendegradasikan kanji pada substrat rizom kunyit bagi meningkatkan hasil minyak kunyit. Substrat dalam bentuk rizom kunyit telah diberi tambahan ekstrak yis 10% mengikut berat setiap isipadu bagi memenuhi keperluan nutrisi pertumbuhan kulat. Kepekatan kulat yang digunakan dalam inokulasi adalah 5x107 sel/ml. Proses penapaian berkeadaan pepejal telah dijalankan dalam keadaan gelap (~0 W), suhu 25–28 ºC, kelembapan 99%, dan pengudaraan (3.5 L/min). Minyak kunyit diasingkan menggunakan kaedah penyulingan wap selama tiga jam, dengan kandungan lembapan substrat 68-71% dan nisbah substrat-air 1:5. Proses biodegradasi dijalankan selama 11 hari. Kandungan kanji dan hasil minyak kunyit ditentukan semasa penapaian terutamanya pada hari ke-7, 9, dan 11. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa proses biodegradasi kanji dalam penapaian berkeadaan pepejal berjaya meningkatkan hasil minyak kunyit. Aspergillus awamori menunjukkan aktiviti degradasi kanji yang paling diingini iaitu sebanyak 62.5% hingga 2.9% berat basah pada hari ke-11 penapaian. Aspergillus oryzae mempunyai kesan yang paling positif, iaitu hampir dua kali ganda hasil minyak kunyit kepada 3.17% berat kering selepas hari ke-11 penapaian. Konstituen utama minyak kunyit ialah ?-turmerone, ?-turmerone, dan ar-turmerone.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan bahwa besar arus listrik berbanding terbalik dengan resistansi atau hambatan, sebagaimana hukum Ohm yang berlaku dengan menggunakan virtual lab. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen. Dari praktikum ini, berdasarkan hukum Ohm terbukti bahwa hubungan antara tegangan dan arus adalah berbanding lurus. Semakin besar tegangan, semakin besar arus, dan sebaliknya. Dan juga, hubungan antara hambatan dan arus berbanding terbalik. Semakin baik hambatan atau resistansi suatu penghantar, semakin kecil arus yang akan mengalir melalui penghantar tersebut. Sebaliknya, semakin kecil hambatan suatu penghantar, semakin besar arus yang akan mengalir melalui penghantar tersebut. Oleh karena itu, virtual lab cocok digunakan sebagai alat tambahan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa tentang hukum Ohm dan memberikan pengalaman belajar yang praktis, menarik, dan aman bagi mahasiswa. Seiring kemajuan teknologi, laboratorium virtual diharapkan semakin canggih dan menyatu dengan pendidikan modern.
Abstrak Masa pandemi Covid-19 sangat mempengaruhi kondisi berbagai sektor kehidupan salah satunya adalah sektor konstruksi. Proyek konstruksi dermaga yang harus tetap berjalan mengharuskan adanya ...penambahan protokol kesehatan pada penerapan K3 untuk mencegah penyebaran Covid-19 serta tindakan pengawasan dan pengendalian penerapan K3/prokes di area proyek. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh penerapan K3/prokes serta tindakan pengawasan dan pengendalian penerapan K3/prokes terhadap proyek. Dari hasil pengolahan data kuisioner, penerapan K3/prokes telah diterapkan termasuk tindakan pengawasan dan pengendalian terhadap penerapan K3/prokes, sanksi terhadap pelanggaran prokes di area proyek. Penelitian ini juga mengemukakan bahwa penerapan K3/prokes serta tindakan pengawasan dan pengendalian penerapan K3/prokes memiliki hubungan antar variabel sesuai yang terinterpretasi melalui persamaan Y=59.013+0.743X1+0.244X2 serta secara simultan memberikan pengaruh sebesar 16.90% terhadap pelaksanaan proyek. The jetty construction project that must continue to run requires the addition of health protocols in the application of HSE to prevent the spread of Covid-19 as well as monitoring and controlling the implementation of HSE/health protocols in the project area. This study aims to determine how the effect of the application of HSE/health protocols as well as the actions of monitoring and controlling the implementation of HSE/health protocols on the project. From the results of the questionnaire data processing, the implementation of HSE/health protocols has been implemented including supervisory and control measures on the implementation of HSE/health protocols, sanctions for violations of health care programs in the project area. This study also suggests that the implementation of HSE/health protocols as well as actions to supervise and control the application of HSE/health protocols have a relationship between variables according to which is interpreted through the equation Y=59.013+0.743X1+0.244X2 and simultaneously has an effect of 16.90% on project implementation. Abstract
There has been a dramatical change in Indonesia’s tropical peatland ecosystem in the last three decades due to various causes and climate change issues. This decreases the function of ...peatland ecosystem to support ecosystem balance and the rural livelihoods, including influencing the food systems. This paper highlights the prospects of food security in the changed and degraded peatland landscape in South Sumatra. A case field study was conducted in this research, followed by qualitative analysis. Peatland degradation, mainly from peatland conversion, illegal logging, and recurrent fires, lead to the decline of food availability from the peatland, such as, fish, honey bee, vegetable, and fruit. To deal with, several field actions are taken: (1) Local initiative in vegetable and fruit production on degraded peatland; (2) Government initiative in developing rice fields as part of food estate program; (3) Community, non-government organization (NGO) and government collaboration in introducing adaptive and prospective agroforestry. More prospective food security on the peatland can be achieved through the commodity diversification, improvement of the techniques, infrastructures, market access, and capacity of rural community. Harmonizing the policies between peatland management and food estate potentially can improve food security in tropical peatland landscape in Indonesia.
The creative economy is being increasingly encouraged by the Indonesian government, the existing entrepreneurs are mostly engaged in the culinary industry. This study aims to describe the role of ...competencies and education in increasing entrepreneurial intention in the creative economy. Three hundred and five questionnaires were distributed to creative entrepreneurs, consisting of 162 respondents in Jakarta and 143 in Balikpapan using convenience sampling. Research findings show that there is no difference between the mean scores of entrepreneurial competencies in Jakarta and Balikpapan. Furthermore, the level of education has a positive effect on (i) entrepreneurial intention, (ii) entrepreneurial professional attraction, and (iii) entrepreneurial networking support. There is a positive relationship between education level and monthly revenue, as well as between entrepreneurial competencies and monthly revenue. The findings of this research would suggest government and education institution to further develop entrepreneurship education and train them with various methods and to cultivate interests in other creative sub-sectors.
Pasar karbon REDD+ dapat menjadi insentif bagi pelaku implementasi REDD+ di lapangan. Permasalahan yang dihadapi adalah ketidakpastian pasar yang tinggi yang diakibatkan oleh belum tersedianya ...mekanisme transaksi karbon. Komitmen pemerintah daerah baik propinsi maupun kabupaten relatif tinggi yang ditunjukan dengan disusunnya peraturan pendukung implementasi REDD+. Kegiatan REDD+ adalah dalam rangka menjaga hutan lestari dan seandainya terjadi perdagangan karbon maka hasil perdagangan merupakan manfaat tambahan.Stakeholder terutama pemda belum mengetahui secara pasti tentang tata cara atau mekanisme pasar karbon, termasuk standar karbon dan metodologi untuk menghasilkan kredit karbon. Insentif yang diharapkan atas capaian penurunan emisi yang dihasilkan lebih didasarkan pada perannya dalam pengelolaan hutan lestari/peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat bukan berdasarkan harga karbon. Terkait dengan pemenuhan target penurunan emisi 26% masih perlu kajian lebih jauh tentang proporsi yang dapat diklaim oleh pembeli. Besarnya proporsi perlu mempertimbangkan pangsa modal investasi antara pembeli dan pemerintah yang dikeluarkan, lain halnya jika pembiayaan awal ditanggung oleh pemerintah. Juga diperlukan lembaga registri yang mengelola kegiatan, capaian penurunan emisi, dan fasilitasi implementasi REDD+ di lapangan.Selain itu lembaga ini mengatur sistem insentif dan disinsentif dalam pengelolaan resiko kebocoran dan ketidakpermanenan.
Lithium sulfur (Li-S) batteries have attracted considerable attention as a promising candidate for next-generation power sources due to their high theoretical energy density, low cost, and ...eco-friendliness. However, the poor electrical conductivity of sulfur and its insoluble discharging products (Li2S2/Li2S), large volume changes, severe self-discharge, and dissolution of lithium polysulfide intermediates result in rapid capacity fading, low Coulombic efficiency, and safety risks, hindering Li-S battery commercial development. In this study, a three-dimensionally (3D) connected hierarchical porous carbon framework (HPCF) derived from waste sunflower seed shells was synthesized as a sulfur host for Li-S batteries via a chemical activation method. The natural 3D connected structure of the HPCF, originating from the raw material, can effectively enhance the conductivity and accessibility of the electrolyte, accelerating the Li+/electron transfer. Additionally, the generated micropores of the HPCF, originated from the chemical activation process, can prevent polysulfide dissolution due to the limited space, thereby improving the electrochemical performance and cycling stability. The HPCF/S cell shows a superior capacity retention of 540 mA h g-1 after 70 cycles at 0.1 C, and an excellent cycling stability at 2 C for 700 cycles. This study provides a potential biomass-derived material for low-cost long-life Li-S batteries.
After determining customary forests, consistent assistance must be provided by the central and regional governments to ensure that customary forest management's ecological, economic, and ...socio-cultural functions can be sustainable. This research aims to analyze the role of parties in post-determination customary forest management in the Serampas customary law community (MHA), Jambi, Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative approach method, with Mitchell's stakeholder analysis concept. Data was collected using in-depth interviews, field observations, literature studies, and focus group discussions. This research shows that the parties, after determining customary forests, which have the potential for collaboration, are the definitive stakeholders, namely the regional government, village government, and village-owned enterprises (BumDes). Each party has a high interest (positive urgency) because the interests positively impact all stakeholders, can enhance the community's economy, and show high social benefits. If the three cannot work together well, potential conflicts can occur bilaterally and/or in alliances between U+ (positive urgency) owners, namely the regional government, village government, and BumDes. The relationship between NGOs and MHA will become dangerous stakeholders if each has high interests without considering the sustainability of customary forests and without supervision from other stakeholders.
