In assuring organizational agility, informing activities play a key role by sensing the environment for important changes. A special part has to be assigned to business intelligence (BI) activities, ...since their exact task is to monitor the environment and detect important issues to provide ground for well-informed responses. In turbulent business environment, BI function has to adjust dynamically to maintain the quality of produced insights. A survey on published research has shown that many sources stress the importance of agile BI on organizational agility in general. However, the importance of managerial and especially cultural factors for the role of informing in building up agility competencies is under-researched. The technology factors of agile informing that create preconditions for organizational agility are much better researched and evaluated than their human and managerial counterparts. There appears to be a need for consistent research approach in favor of the less researched human and managerial factors. The goal of this paper is to define research framework by addressing agility issues at three levels: organizational, information and BI agility. This framework is going to serve as a foundation for planned research on the factors of BI agility.

Despite the advances in IT, information systems intended for management informing did not uniformly fulfil the increased expectations of users; this can be said mostly about complex information ...needs. Although some of the technologies for supporting complicated insights, like management decision support systems and technologies, experienced reduction in interest both from researchers and practitioners, this did not reduce the importance of well-supported business informing and decision making. Being attributed to the group of intelligent systems and technologies, decision support (DS) technologies have been largely supplemented by business intelligence (BI) technologies. Both types of technologies are supported by respective information technologies, which often appear to be quite closely related. The objective of this paper is to define relations between simple and complex informing intended to satisfy different sets of needs and provided by different sets of support tools. The paper attempts to put together decision support and business intelligence technologies, based on common goals of sense-making and use of advanced analytical tools. A model of two interconnected cycles has been developed to relate the activities of decision support and business intelligence. Empirical data from earlier research is used to direct possible further insights into this area. Keywords--management decision support, business intelligence, information needs

The basic function of all deposit insurance schemes is to pay deposit insurance payouts to depositors promptly for the losses they otherwise would suffer in the event of an insured financial ...institution's closure. As a result, depositors are relieved of both the recovery-rate and time risks of a liquidation process up to the insured level of their deposits. Deposit insurance payouts - including the speed and convenience - vary across countries and can affect public confidence in the deposit insurance scheme. Information technology support in the payout process is essential. However, one of the major problems in the insurance payout process is the lack of the proper information technology. This paper addresses the factors related to the payout process, discusses the advantages and disadvantages of various approaches, and makes recommendations on the establishment of a universal information technology model for a deposit insurer to accomplish the procedures of insurance payouts.
