This work analyzes a Hybrid Photovoltaic System (HPS) consisting of three photovoltaic systems operating in grid-connected mode and in off-grid conditions with the use of an energy storage system. ...For the analysis of the storage system, different scenarios with specific operating conditions have been considered, either with interruption of the electric grid or in normal operation mode, so that the Amazon Energy Efficiency Center (CEAMAZON) is fully supplied with energy during the year 2022. Finally, the analysis of the operating modes of the hybrid system is carried out, validating that the system is adaptable to the most diverse situations that the electricity grid offers to the system, always seeking stability in operation and energy supply.
The prevalence of antibodies to CagA protein was evaluated in 174 Helicobacter pylori-positive. subjects: 110 patients submitted to upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and 64 male blood donors. The ...patients were from different regions of Nigeria: Jos, North, Benue,West and East and the blood donors were from Jos. Sera were assayed for anti-CagA antibodies using Helicobacter p120, CagA ELISA (Viva Diagnostika, Hürth, Germany). Anti-CagA antibodies were detected in 104 (94.5%) patients and in 61 (95.3%) blood donors (P=1.0). Patients from the Benue region presented a lower frequency of anti-CagA antibodies than patients from the other regions (P=0.0004). When the subjects were stratified by age, a significant increase in IgG concentration was observed among the men (P=0.03) but not among the women (P=0.57) or among the blood donors (P=0.83). In conclusion, similarly toAsian countries, CagA-positive H. pylori infection is highly frequent in Nigeria.

The prevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection was assessed in a randomly selected sample of individuals from low-income community in Fortaleza, Northeastern Brazil. Overall, 384 out of 610 ...participants (62.9%) were H. pylori positive. A 47.5% infection rate was found in subjects aged six months to 10 years old, increased to 73.3% in subjects aged 11-20 years and then continued to increase with age reaching up to 87% in those over 60 years old. After this age group, the prevalence decreased slightly. The prevalence of infection increased significantly with age (p<0.0001).A prevalência da infecção pelo Helicobacter pylori foi avaliada em amostra randomizada de indivíduos de uma comunidade urbana de baixa renda em Fortaleza, Estado do Ceará. O H. pylori foi detectado em 384 (62.9%) dos 610 participantes. A taxa de infecção foi de 47.5% em indivíduos com seis meses a 10 anos de idade, aumentou para 73.3% entre indivíduos com 11 a 20 anos, e continuou a aumentar com a idade, atingindo 87% naqueles com aproximadamente 60 anos. Após essa idade, a prevalência diminuiu discretamente. A prevalência da infecção aumentou significantemente com a idade (p<0.0001).
We aimed to determine whether cytotoxin-positive Helicobacter pylori strains are associated with gastric carcinoma.
We studied 130 patients: 57 H. pylori-positive patients with gastric carcinoma, 53 ...H. pylori-positive patients without gastric carcinoma, and 20 H. pylori-negative subjects. The ability of H. pylori strains to produce vacuolating cytotoxin was tested in INT-407 and HeLa cells. The presence of antibodies to cytotoxin was investigated in blood serum from all subjects by immunoblotting. Fragments of the gastric mucosa from patients without gastric carcinoma and H. pylori-negative subjects were obtained for histopathological study.
Considering the results as a whole, 40 (70.2%) patients with and 22 (41.5%) without gastric carcinoma were colonized by cytotoxin-positive strains. Antibodies against cytotoxin were not observed in the serum from 17 (29.8%) gastric carcinoma patients and from 31 (58.5%) patients without gastric carcinoma. H. pylori strains isolated from these patients did not produce cytotoxin in vitro. In regard to cytotoxin positivity, a significant difference was observed between patients with and without gastric carcinoma (p=0.004; odds ratio OR: 3.3; 95% confidence interval CI: 1.4-7.9). Higher scores of mononuclear (p=0.0001) and polymorphonuclear (p=0.000003) cells were observed in the antral mucosa from H. pylori-positive patients without gastric carcinoma infected by cytotoxin-positive strains than in those harboring cytotoxin-negative strains.
Cytotoxin-producing H. pylori strains were more frequently observed in patients with gastric carcinoma and this aspect emphasizes the role of cytotoxin in the genesis of the tumor.

M. tuberculosis and on reference strains belonging to 37 different species. All MTB complex strains and none of the other strains reacted with the MTB complex-specific probe, meaning that the assay is 100% specific and 100% sensitive for detection of strains of the MTB complex. In 80 resistant strains, mutations causing S531L (
n=55), H526Y (
n=9), H526D (
n=12) or D516V (
n=9) were detected while in 30 strains, mutations were present but their exact nature was not determined by the assay (ΔS patterns). All sensitive strains had the sensitive genotype while among resistant isolates, a sensitive genotype was obtained in three due to the absence of mutations in the hot spot region, demonstrating an assay accuracy of 97.6% for detection of drug susceptibility. In 10 resistant cultures, two or more mutations were detected and in five, mixed sensitive and resistant genotypes were observed. The sensitivity of the assay for detection of resistant organisms in a mixture with sensitive ones were 2% and 70%, respectively, considering the appearance and disappearance of the R2 and S2 bands. The sensitivity to detect heteroresistance is similar to that of the proportion method when a specific probe for the mutation is present but the performance of the assay in the patient population will depend on the frequency of mutation distribution.
