A magnitude (Mw) 6.6 Earthquake occurring on 29 May 2017 in Poso shows that there are active faults in these regions. In addition to Palu-Koro fault which is the major fault in the island of ...Sulawesi, one of secondary faults that may trigger earthquakes is a fault in Lore Utara Subdistrict, Poso District. This fault has been identified using magnetic anomaly in Sedoa Village Lore Utara Subdistrict. A measurement was done to obtain magnetic field intensity data and measurement time at base stations and position data at mobile stations. The data obtained was subjected to IGRF correction and diurnal variation correction. The result of the research shows different susceptibility (k) values with 0.00017 SI for clay rocks, 0.0209 SI for muddy sandstone, and 0.05 SI for granite rocks. This research also shows the existence of subsurface geological structures in Sedoa Village, Poso District, in the form of two normal faults in different directions. The first fault runs from Southeast toward Northwest and the second one runs from Northeast to Southwest.
High seismic activity in Poso District is not supported by information related to earthquake hazard map with detailed scale. This information is very necessary for supporting the government's efforts ...to reduce the risk of earthquake disasters. Therefore, this study aims to map earthquake-prone zones with detailed scale. The study was conducted by measuring Vs30 using a microtremor on each rock sample using the HVSR method, then these values were used as a reference in correcting the USGS Vs30 data, thus producing a VS30 distribution value, with an interval of 1 km. From the results of the study, it showed that based on the Vs30 ratio in Poso District, it obtained a ratio value > 0.5. This value indicates the difference between the results of microtremor measurements and USGS data which was not different significantly. However, some point showed different values to produce a classification of different types of material, thus affecting the distribution of seismic vulnerability. The results of seismic distribution analysis showed that middle lore has a high level of seismic vulnerability from 19 districts spread across Poso Regency

The following writing shows the historicity of Islamic studies in the West. It is important to reflect, at least as a comparison for our Islamic studies in Indonesia. Initially, Islamic studies in ...the West were looked unfairly. Islam was considered a fragment of Jews and Christian tradition. Thus, Islamic studies were positioned as a subunit of Christian studies. At this condition, Islamic studies tended to be colonized by West scholars’ ideology. However, in 1980, Islamic studies began to be looked fairly in the West. Funded by National Endowment for the Humanities, University of Arizona for the first time held an international symposium on Islam and Religious Studies. In this symposium, Islam was considered equally with Christian. Therefore, the research on it was not only about Islam as religion but also as civilization. It was indicated by various approaches to Islam such as philology, social and humanities approaches. Today, Islamic studies develop intensively with the contemporary approaches called post-orientalism which is based on post-colonialism, post-structuralism, multiculturalism, and critical theory.
A soil's dynamic characteristics greatly influence earthquake potential damage inland. Subsurface investigations to determine the dynamic characteristics of the soil can minimize the risk of such ...damage. The sediment layer thickness is one of the parameters to assess the local geological character in response to an earthquake. Another parameter is Vs30 value, which is used to classify soil types as an indicator of soil response, which generally dominates ground motion amplification. In this study, the two parameters are analyzed to determine the potential for local damage in the event of an earthquake in the eastern area of Mataram City using the rayleigh wave inversion from microtremor data. The research area covers 3 districts, including Selaparang, Cakranegara, and Sandubaya Districts. The results showed that the value of the sediment thickness in the entire study area ranged from 12.78 m to 57.20 m. The value of Vs30 varies between 286 m/s to 866 m/s with the classification of rigid soils, very dense soils, and soft rocks and rocks. These results indicate that the study area in general experiences a large potential for damage if an earthquake occurs. This research is expected to be a reference for the spatial plan of Mataram City.

The Biromaru area is located on the Palu-Koro fault line so it is very prone to earthquake shocks. This area is one of the zones that experienced destruction and caused heavy damage to settlements ...and various infrastructure. In an effort to mitigate seismic disasters, it is necessary to carry out studies related to rock dynamics in the area. This study was conducted with the aim of knowing the dynamic characteristics of rocks using micro tremor data. The dynamic characteristics of the rock are determined based on several parameters, including the average speed of the shear waves at a depth of 30 meters, and amplification factor. The results showed that this area has a type of still rock structure. Thus, the study area has a high susceptibility to damage due to earthquakes.
The EMG signals can be produced from the human muscle activity. This paper explains the control system of the robot mobile which uses the EMG signal from three muscles contraction such as the jaw ...muscles, the right arm muscles, and the left arm muscles. The peak values of the EMG signal was used as the input to the ANN system using the Backpropagation algorithm, and it produces the output which has nine target conditions; the forward, then turn right and then turn left where each of them has the variations such as the slow, the medium and the fast. The ANN has been trained with 270 of the training data, and it has been tested with 135 of the testing data from 15 respondents who performed muscle contraction activities. Based on the test result, there are only two unrecognizable data with the rate of the system accuracy is 98.52%. The movements of the robot mobile can be controlled based on the recognized movement patterns with the specified target conditions.

Poso District, has three faults namely poso fault, tokararu fault and poso west fault, so this area needs to be conducted a seismic hazard assessment to reduce the risk of earthquake disaster, ...especially in densely populated areas. The research was focused in Poso Kota District. In estimating possible seismic hazards One of the steps taken is to microzonate the local area by looking at the distribution of shear velocity (Vs30), which provides a basic analysis of the basic seismic hazards of the study area. The results obtained indicate that the magnitude of VS30 in the study location is classified into medium and soft soil types, with a medium land area of 3892 Ha, while soft land which is widely distributed in the west coast of Poso City has an area of 2688 Ha, for hard lands the total area is 2534 Ha.
Groundwater distribution is one of the factors that can support the development of a region, including Palu City, which is the Capital of the Central Sulawesi Province. This research was conducted to ...find out the distribution of the groundwater potential in Palu City. The parameters used in remote sensing data were based on geomorphological factors, fertility, and vegetation density. Geomorphology used DEM data from SRTM imagery, while vegetation fertility used unsupervised classification method, and vegetation density used the NDVI method. The weight test of the three factors was conducted using the AHP method. The parameters of the geoelectrical resistivity used Wenner and Schlumberger configurations. In remote sensing, the weighting results obtained the vegetation fertility of 39, vegetation density of 33, and geomorphology of 16. The Geoelectrical resistivity obtained the resistivity value of rocks of 10 - 69.66 Ωm as a layer of groundwater potential distribution. The high distribution of groundwater potential is generally in the Palu valley, while the moderate distribution is in the eastern hills and a small part in the western hills and the low distribution is in the western hills and eastern part of Palu City.
