W artykule zaakcentowano współistnienie teologii biblijnej i teologii systematycznej w twórczości Tomasza z Akwinu; w tym celu skorzystano z badań tomizmu biblijnego.
The article is a voice in the discussion on the doctrine of Scripture, that is, the theological reflection on the nature, attributes and mission of Scripture. The text shows the close link between ...the regula fidei and Scripture and, at the same time, the impossibility of identifying the rule of faith with the biblical canon. The rule of faith has played a role in establishing the Christian canon and throughout the Church’s time serves to protect the message of Scripture. The content expressed in the rule of faith is not derived from hidden Tradition, and Tradition has become the internal principle of the New Testament and the regula fidei. The key to Scripture is the faith of the Church, one expression of which is the rule of faith. It allows us to grasp the order of the truths of faith (harmonia veritatum) and their hierarchy (hierarchia veritatum). The original rule of faith was born out of the reception of divine revelation and, together with Scripture, remains at the service of the New Covenant.
W pierwszej części artykułu zaprezentowano „ontologię Pisma Świętego” Johna Webstera. Teolog postrzegał teksty biblijne w świetle ich pochodzenia i roli w Boskiej samo-komunikacji. Uczony wprowadził ...termin uświęcenie, oznaczający oddzielenie przez Boga i włączenie na służbę „ekonomii łaski”. Doktryna natchnienia została przez Webstera podporządkowana pojęciu objawienia i ulokowana w ramach uświęcenia. W drugiej części artykułu oceniono refleksję autora Holy Scripture: A Dogmatic Sketch uprawianą zgodnie z pryncypiami doktryny reformowanej.
W pierwszej części zaprezentowano poglądy anglikańskiego teologa ukazujące ontologię Pisma ...Świętego w jej związku z eklezjologią, a w drugiej – poddano je krytycznej ocenie z perspektywy teologii katolickiej; w tym celu wykorzystano zwłaszcza teologię Josepha Ratzingera.
Prawda. Zbawienie.
The text asks the question about the role of the Word of God in connection with Pascha and its being made present in the liturgy. The article first refers to Joseph Ratzinger’s theology of liturgy. ...According to the Bavarian theologian, in Christian worship the historical event of the Passover (“just once”) corresponds to its continuous actuality (“once for ever”). The essence of Jesus’ words and actions – as the Son of the Father – at the Last Supper remains always present. It is then shown that the inspired writings can only be understood in connection with the words of institution at the Last Supper. The privileged time for listening to the word of God is the liturgy, during which Christ-the Lamb becomes the Exegete who opens up the deepest sense of Scripture (“Eucharistic hermeneutics”). An analogy is then presented between the entry of the past Passover into the present of the liturgy and the actualization of the events witnessed in the inspired books. This kind of “making present” is related to the sacramental transformation of the Jewish scriptures and feasts that Christ accomplished. The historical experience is not recreated, but recapitulated in the Eucharistic Passover. In the Blessed Sacrament Christ is also present in the spoken (and written under inspiration) word. In turn, the liturgy of the word is the verbal aspect of the sacramental action.
Robert Sokolowski wrote that biblical words activate the presence of God. But can we speak of the “sacramentality of the word” analogous to the sacrament itself? This paper collects reflections on ...the “making present” of the word of God intra mysteriorum celebrationem. This issue is related to the theme of the relationship between past and present in the Eucharist, which was dealt with by Sokolowski. The article summarizes this philosopher’s views on the Eucharistic presence, in dialogue with which it then reflects on the presence of Christ in the word of God. From the “Passover-centricity” of the Holy Scriptures stems a kind of making present the anticipatory self-giving of God in the events to which the inspired texts testify. The liturgy of the word must lead to the climactic event of Passover and its sacramental making present. There can be no question of “two presences” of the Lord at Mass. The words of institution from the Last Supper have a role in the actualization of the Passover, while the inspired words are not in the same way “instituting” words. It is only in their inner orientation that they lead to the mystery of Christ present in the Blessed Sacrament.
Theological literature contains many references to the analogy between the Incarnation of the Word and the expression of God’s words in human language. In “The Christological Analogy and Theological ...Interpretation” James Prothro points out that the incarnational theology is useful only in emphasizing the dual provenance of Scripture (divine and human authorship). Nevertheless, it does not hold true in a situation in which one derives the concept of inspiration from the analogy or tries to formulate conclusions on how to interpret the inspired books on its basis. According to the theologian, the text and the actual Incarnation are two different examples of divine self-disclosure to humans, and there is no immediate transit between Christology and the theology of Scripture. This article is a polemic with Prothro’s theses, which have been subjected to criticism. The theologian’s escape from the incarnational theology has proved unsuccessful. The limitations of the analogy do not prevent one from the possibility of using it. One should only remember about the “dissimilar similarity,” characteristic of every analogy. The final part of the article contains directions for further studies.
The author of the article puts forward methodological guidelines important in the process of deriving anthropological truth from Christology. A Christological doctrine along with its modern ...reinterpretation is presented in the text. It is a hermeneutical key to conduct a research on the earthly history of the Incarnated described in the Gospels. The fact of the primacy of Christology over anthropology is highlighted, as well as the significance of the statement that the Word became man ‘for us and for our salvation’. In Christ we receive not direct, but indirect manifestation of a human. One should regard both the Son who became man and the Redeemer who, being exactly a man himself, redeems sinners. Therefore, the Incarnated Word as well as a man should be regarded in a dynamic way, taking into account the time dimension. The patristic axiom Quod non est assumptum non est sanatum (‘what is not assumed is not saved’) can be also referred to particular stages of human life redeemed by Christ.
