Amino acid positions recognized by monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) in the influenza A virus nucleoprotein (NP) have been reported. As these residues were scattered in the three-dimensional (3D) ...structure of NP, no patterns of the architecture of antibody-binding sites could be inferred. Here, we used site-specific mutagenesis and ELISA to screen the amino acids surrounding position 470 recognized by the MAb 3/1 as a linear epitope. Ten amino acid residues involved in the reaction of NP with the MAb 3/1 and the MAb 469/6 were identified. Our data are the first to outline a compact site recognized by MAbs in the 3D structure of the influenza virus NP.
The urgency of the problem of metabolic syndrome (MS) is due to the high prevalence and risk of developing cardiovascular complications. Purpose of the study - to investigate the degree of adherence ...to the Mediterranean diet of the studied sample using the MedDietScore (MDS) questionnaire and to assess the association of score of MDS with the components of metabolic syndrome. A cross-sectional study was conducted, during which a clinical, laboratory examination and questioning of 839 patients was carried out. For assessment of the relationship between the MS, its components and the average MDS score multivariate logistic regression analysis was used. The average score of MDS in the studied population was 20.91 (Me=21.00). The mean MDS score was statistically significantly lower in patients with MS components, compared with patients who did not have these components. The inverse association between adherence to the Mediterranean diet and the components of the MS was revealed.
The dependence of the pulse shape of laser radiation of a CdS semiconductor target on the parameters of the exciting subnanosecond electron beam (EB) is studied. The effect of the time to reach the ...threshold excess carrier density (ECD) on the laser radiation pulse shape is considered. A train of laser radiation pulses with a maximum intensity to 10

is obtained at modulating EB pulses by a frequency of 5 GHz. It is shown that an increase in the ECD during the lifetime can be used to further increase the intensity and to reduce the laser radiation duration in the picosecond range.
The results of the excitation of СdS semiconductor targets by a subnanosecond electron beam (EB) with an electron energy of 60–230 keV are presented. The maximum intensity of laser radiation from ...targets for a 1-mm EB diameter exceeded 10

at an efficiency of ~10%. Lasing was initiated at the leading edge of the EB current; laser radiation then reproduced the shape of the excitation pulse. At low excitation levels, a single-mode lasing regime with the wavelength λ = 522 nm was observed. The maximum power of laser radiation (10 MW) was achieved on a multielement CdS semiconductor target. The duration of laser pulses changed in the range of 100–500 ps.
ABSTRACT
Amino‐containing derivatives of various structures have been obtained via the Mannich reaction in a series of bicyclic phosphonates based on 2‐methylresorcinol, resorcinol, and pyrogallol ...with paraformaldehyde and secondary amines via the Mannich reaction. The structure and composition of the obtained compounds have been determined using 31Р and 1Н NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry (MALDI‐TOF), and X‐ray analysis.
The method proposed in this study was used to isolate fungi grown under anaerobic conditions and to reveal distinctions in their abundance and species composition in different habitats. The ability ...of micromycetes of different taxa to grow under anaerobic conditions and ensure alcohol fermentation was determined for a representative sample (344 strains belonging to more than 60 species). The group of fungi growing under anaerobic conditions included species with high, moderate, and low fermentation activity. The ability for anaerobic growth and fermentation depended on the taxonomic affiliation of fungi. In some cases, the expression of these characteristics depended on the habitat from which the strain was isolated. The maximum level of ethanol accumulation in culture liquid (1.2-4.7%) was detected for Absidia spinosa, Aspergillus sp. of group flavus, Aspergillus terreus, Acremonium sp., Mucor circinelloides, Mucor sp., Fusarium oxysporum, F. solani, F. sambucinum, Rhizopus arrhizus var. arrhizus, Trichoderma atroviride, and Trichoderma sp.
ABSTRACT
Condensation of naphthol‐1 and naphthol‐2 with 2‐ethoxyvinyphosphonic acid dichloroanhydride in boiling toluene in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid has resulted in high yields of unknown ...bicyclic phosphonates. Composition and structure of the products obtained were confirmed according to 1H and 31P nuclear magnetic resonance, infrared spectroscopy, and X‐ray analysis.
