Abstract
Baikal-GVD is a large (∼ 1 km

) underwater neutrino
telescope installed in the fresh waters of Lake Baikal. The deep
lake water environment is pervaded by background light, which is
...detectable by Baikal-GVD's photosensors. We introduce a neural
network for an efficient separation of these noise hits from the
signal ones, stemmng from the propagation of relativistic particles
through the detector. The model has a U-Net-like architecture and
employs temporal (causal) structure of events. The neural network's
metrics reach up to 99% signal purity (precision) and 96% survival
efficiency (recall) on Monte-Carlo simulated dataset. We compare the
developed method with the algorithmic approach to rejecting the
noise and discuss other possible architectures of neural networks,
including graph-based ones.

SESN2 is a member of the evolutionarily conserved sestrin protein family found in most of the Metazoa species. The SESN2 gene is transcriptionally activated by many stress factors, including ...metabolic derangements, reactive oxygen species (ROS), and DNA-damage. As a result, SESN2 controls ROS accumulation, metabolism, and cell viability. The best-known function of SESN2 is the inhibition of the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 kinase (mTORC1) that plays a central role in support of cell growth and suppression of autophagy. SESN2 inhibits mTORC1 activity through interaction with the GATOR2 protein complex preventing an inhibitory effect of GATOR2 on the GATOR1 protein complex. GATOR1 stimulates GTPase activity of the RagA/B small GTPase, the component of RagA/B:RagC/D complex, preventing mTORC1 translocation to the lysosomes and its activation by the small GTPase Rheb. Despite the well-established role of SESN2 in mTORC1 inhibition, other SESN2 activities are not well-characterized. We recently showed that SESN2 could control mitochondrial function and cell death via mTORC1-independent mechanisms, and these activities might be explained by direct effects of SESN2 on mitochondria. In this work, we examined mitochondrial localization of SESN2 and demonstrated that SESN2 is located on mitochondria and can be directly involved in the regulation of mitochondrial functions.

Until recently, Russia, both in terms of geography and shipping volumes, could be attributed to the number of countries in the world semiperiphery. In recent decades, attempts have been made to ...overcome the technological and logistical gap in these areas; in particular, significant investments have been directed to development of seaports. This led not only to a rapid increase in cargo transshipment, but also to structural shifts in their nomeclature. However, this progressive trend largely correlated with the extensive logic of Russian economic growth. The construction and expansion of terminals for the export of raw materials and semifinished products also overlapped the positive dynamics of growth in the volumes of the most technologically advanced container transportation. Based on the data of Morrechflot and Rosstat, involving data from analytical reviews of consulting companies, the dynamics of volumes and structure of cargo transshipment in Russian ports in the first two decades of the 21st century is shown in the context of basins and individual port complexes; problems in the development of the sector have been revealed. The absolute growth of volumes was typical of all sea basins, and the increase in structural diversity of processed cargo was primarily typical of the port complexes facing Europe. In the new geoeconomic conditions that developed by the end of the second decade of the 21st century, the territorial structure of Russia’s port economy may be frozen for a long period, fixing the results of the investment boom in the country’s port economy in the period of overall progressive development of foreign economic relations. Further shifts will most likely lead to an increase in the raw material component, and shifts in cargo transshipment volumes will be limited by the port infrastructure created at the previous stage, some of which may even prove redundant.
This article provides a method of disposing of a particulate waste that allows treatment to produce ferroaluminum. In this work the optimization of the charge composition was carried out by the ...planned experiment to obtain the maximum performance properties of the SHS ferroaluminum. The article presents the analysis of the conditions of formation of the ferroaluminum microstructure in the process of the self-propagating high-temperature synthesis. The SHS process is initiated in the mixture composed of the dispersed waste engineering. The factors influencing the formation of the alloy structure were brought out.
The article presents an alternative method of obtaining aluminium cast iron in the process of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis from disperse waste of machine-building enterprises. The ...deficiencies of the traditional methods for obtaining structural iron castings with aluminum are established. The analysis of the factors influencing the strength of the SHS aluminium cast iron, the planned experiment for obtaining the maximum strength of SHS aluminium cast iron for two input factors varying at three levels and three parallel observations were carried out. The statistical processing of experimental results is performed. The mathematical model is obtained for the dependence of operational factors on the composition of the charge of the SHS process. The significance of the regression coefficients of the equation is determined. The adequacy of the obtained equation is checked for the results of observations. The analysis of the conditions for the formation of the microstructure of aluminium cast iron in the process of SHS-casting is presented.
A method for producing castings of anode-grounders by recycling fine wastes from engineering enterprises during self-propagating high-temperature synthesis is proposed. A mathematical model for the ...dependence of the SHS-ferrosilide operating properties on the starting components is obtained using experiment planning. Results of analytical experiments are presented.
An algorithm of optimization of the charge for metal-containing waste processing of metallurgical and foundry industries was developed. The processing method is based on the phenomenon of ...self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) of ferroalloys of the composition of dispersed waste without the use of external sources of heat due to internal energy.
The Advanced Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory and Advanced Virgo observatories recently discovered gravitational waves from a binary neutron star inspiral. A short gamma-ray burst ...that followed the merger of this binary was also recorded by Fermi gamma-ray burst monitor and International Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory, indicating particle acceleration by the source. The precise location of the event was determined by optical detections of emission following the merger. We searched for high-energy neutrinos from the merger in the energy range of 1 TeV–100 PeV using the Baikal Gigaton Volume Detector. No neutrinos directionally coincident with the source were detected within ±500 s around the merger time, as well as during a 14-day period after the gravitational wave detection. We derived 90% C.L. upper limits on the neutrino fluence from GW170817 during a ±500 s window centered on the gravitational wave trigger time, and a 14-day window following the gravitational wave signal under the assumption of an

Measurement of the budget differentiation of regions for 2006–2022 revealed a complex and heterogeneous picture. There was a shift in the distribution of taxes between the levels of the budget ...system in favor of the federal budget. However, the reduction in the tax base of more developed regions did not lead to a significant reduction in inequality in budget revenues. There is no general trend in the dynamics of various taxes: in terms of income tax, the differentiation of regions slightly decreased, while for personal income tax, property taxes, and small business taxes it increased. This is a consequence of a complex of factors acting in different directions. The impact of crises on tax revenues to regional budgets is ambiguous. In the 2009, 2015, 2020, and 2022 crises, the inequality dynamics varied across different types of taxes. The leveling effect of transfers was significant only during the 2009 and 2020 crises due to the sharp increase in their volumes. The differentiation of regions is maximum for taxes received by the federal budget, much less for regional budget revenues, and relatively small for budget expenditures on education and social policy. Inequality between regions for per capita expenditures of regional budgets remains very high, despite some mitigation over the past 15 years due to a reduction in the backlog of less developed regions. Reducing the gap in per capita expenditures from the average for federal subjects is more significant for the regions of the Far East, the North Caucasus and most regions of the Center.
