Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) have been proposed in the late 1980s for providing the necessary electrical power system requirements. FACTS are used for controlling the power flow and ...improving the stability of the power system. Interline Power Flow Controller (IPFC) is a versatile device in FACTS family; it is one of recently developed controllers in FACTS family, which has the capability to simultaneously control the power flow in two or multiple transmission lines. This paper is tackling the IPFC performance in power systems; it aims to discuss the availability to define a known scenario for the IPFC performance in different systems. The introduction is supported with a brief review on IPFC, IPFC principles for operation, and IPFC mathematical model. IEEE 14-bus and 30-bus systems have been chosen as a test power system; for supporting the behavior study of power system, which is equipped with IPFC device. Three different locations have been chosen to give variety of system configurations to give effective performance analysis.
Cette recherche examine l’effet différencié des quatre dimensions de la justice organisationnelle perçue sur le sentiment de bien-être et sur l’intention de quitter des agents des collectivités ...locales. Les résultats issus de la méthode des équations structurelles sur un échantillon de 924 agents montrent que, lorsque ces derniers ont le sentiment d’être traités de manière juste et équitable, ils sont plus à même de manifester un meilleur état de bien-être au travail. En revanche, lorsqu’ils ont le sentiment d’être traités de manière injuste, leur intention de quitter la collectivité est plus palpable. Les résultats révèlent aussi que les dimensions de la justice ne sont pas toutes, associées au sentiment de bien-être des agents et à leur intention de quitter leurs collectivités. Lorsqu’elles sont simultanément prises en considération, certaines formes de justice ont un plus fort poids explicatif que d’autres.

This paper presents the usages, current status and challenges that face monitoring real runtime SOA applications from both research and industry points of view. The key challenges that face SOA monitoring are (1) monitoring overhead and performance degradation, (2) the diversity of supported formats and protocols, which is further complicated by the growth in the number of integrated applications that requires complex logic to be able to monitor individual paths across multiple services, and (3) the distribution of services which is further complicated by deployment in the cloud. We cover academic perspectives that are typically proposals for models or architectures for SOA middleware for monitoring. And we cover as well real monitoring techniques supported in SOA frameworks provided by software vendors.
The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence of smoking among university students of King Saud University in Abha City, to determine ecological factors for the problem, and to assess the ...studentsâ knowledge about the health effects of smoking, and attitudes towards public action against smoking.
All medical students at the University College of Medicine (MC) (n=202), and a representative sample of students of the College of Education (CE) (n=300), were subjected to a modified Arabic version of the World Health Organization standard questionnaire for young people to study their knowledge, attitudes and practices of smoking.
The study revealed the following results among students of the CE and those of the MC, respectively. Prevalence of regular smoking (17.5% vs. 13.6%; P=0.25); heavy smokers (39.5% vs. 27.8%; P=0.38); smokers of moderate- to high-nicotine yield (92.7% vs. 50%, P=0.0004), and tar yield (48.8% vs. 16.7%, P=0.02). Curiosity was the main reason for initiation of smoking (41.2% vs. 51.9%), followed by the desire to show off (27.5% vs. 51.9%, P=0.03), and peer pressure (27.5% vs. 7.4%, P=0.04). Friends were the main source of the first cigarette (53.1% vs. 55.6%), followed by parents (2% vs. 40.7%, P=0.0001). Most students were knowledgeable about smoking and had favorable attitudes against it. However, MC students were significantly more knowledgeable than those of the CE.
Smoking still constitutes a major problem among university students in Abha, in spite of their knowledge of its hazards. This may be due to the addictive effect of smoking, peer pressure, negative parental attitudes and other reasons. There is a need to implement an anti-smoking program for college students, and possibly legislation to limit the amount of tar and nicotine in cigarettes.

Le “Corpus” de ce numéro de La Nouvelle Revue du Travail est consacré aux interdépendances entre la financiarisation de l’économie et les transformations contemporaines du travail. L’entrée ...privilégiée ici est la gestion, ses acteurs et ses dispositifs, instances intermédiaires grâce auxquelles le macro-économique conforme le microsocial, à travers les métamorphoses imprimées au travail. C’est en particulier autour de l’étude critique des actes désormais omniprésents de mesures physiques et de valorisations comptables des activités de travail conduits par les managers (ou les gestionnaires) que s’est construit ce numéro. Dit autrement, les articles ici rassemblés cherchent à éclairer les différentes manières dont les impératifs de rentabilité financière sont réinterprétés en termes de décisions de rationalisation du travail et marquent les organisations contemporaines – qu’elles soient publiques ou privées – du même réductionnisme calculatoire, sans oublier les réactions ou les résistances des personnels concernés. Procéder à un tel choix, c’est renouer avec une ambition initiale de la sociologie, quand Durkheim et les membres de L’Année sociologique discutaient les impensés anthropologiques de l’économie politique, ou quand Weber, Sombart ou Marx nous invitaient à nous intéresser à la comptabilité pour comprendre comment le capitalisme entraînait le travail dans les voies qui étaient les siennes.
Fifty children aged 3 to 12 years presented with cervical or inguinal lymph nodes enlargement were selected from Zagazig University Hospitals. They were subjected to routine laboratory examination as ...well as histopathological & immunopathological studies. The results revealed eosinophilia and intestinal parasites in 80 percent. Besides, pediculosis and flea dermatitis were also demonstrated in 30 and 12 percent respectively. Histopathological studies of the nodal tissues revealed sinus hyperplasia (ten cases), reactive paracortical hyperplasia (30 cases) and necrosis and caseition (ten cases). Infiltration with eosinophils was demonstrated in the nodal tissues of 40 cases. Immunopathologyical studies revealed cytotoxic T-cells in all the cases, and helper T lymphocytes in only 15 cases. It is concluded that this may give an explanation of some causes of lymphadenopathy in Egyptian children other than malignancy.
