The emergence of building a popular culture, based on the ethical-political imperative that links the demands, needs and struggles of those below, constitutes an aspect that configures the dynamics ...of re-existence of social groups in their different realities. On reflection of this is the peace process signed between the Farc-Ep guerrilla group / party and the Colombian government. Thus, the objective of the following article is to conduct a theoretical-conceptual discussion about the dilemmas and advances that coexist in the Colombian post-conflict, from a subaltern perspective of peace (ces) in the territories, taking into account the proposals theoreticians of peace scholars like Alonso (2013); Márquez Fernández, Á. (2018a) , who consider the need to question from a critical perspective the dynamics of peace (s), created in the territories. The methodology used was collaborative research and critical discourse analysis (Sandoval, 2016a), which starts from generating an intersubjective and horizontal dialogue between the researcher and the social groups. The fundamental conclusion of the investigation was the need to recognize the subject's praxis and his political ethos in terms of building laboratories, spaces and territories of peace from and with those below, that give weight to the logic of violence promoted and exerted from the hegemonic groups in the regions.
Based on analysis of an administrative dataset, which includes granular detail on 800,000 English students over a 10‐year period, this article identifies an urban ‘escalator’ effect in entry to elite ...universities, with disadvantaged youth in the urban centres of England having higher rates of entry than similarly disadvantaged youth located rurally. Using multilevel modelling, as well as Geographic Information System (GIS) methods, the analyses show that while place in itself is not a major contributory factor in entry to elite universities overall, there is a distinct urban–rural patterning to progression. When raw progression rates by area alone are observed, rural areas typically have higher progression rates to elite universities. However, when the full range of individual differences are accounted for, including attainment, socio‐economic status, ethnicity and accessibility to elite universities, the converse is true—localities within and surrounding major urban centres are those with the highest progression rates. A ‘vortex of influences’ is likely to favour urban disadvantaged youth, including the geography of social class and ethnic identities, a legacy of concerted policy interventions within urban areas, as well as the proliferation of widening participation activity in urban centres.
•The objectified and embodied components of cultural capital have a positive effect on students' perception of feedback across all analysed countries.•Institutionalised cultural capital did not show ...a significant effect on students' perception of feedback in most countries.•Boys perceived receiving considerably more feedback than girls across all the analysed countries.•There is a need for in-depth qualitative examinations to unveil the mechanisms underlying the patterns that we describe here.
This paper employs Pierre Bourdieu's cultural capital theory to examine the extent to which students' cultural capital is related to teacher-student interaction in the context of feedback. The study uses PISA (2018) data to implement multilevel modelling for each participating country. The findings show that objectified and embodied components of cultural capital have a positive and statistically significant effect on students' perception of feedback across all countries. Institutionalised cultural capital, however, has no significant effect in most countries. Furthermore, the findings show that boys perceived receiving considerably more feedback than girls. Recommendations for future studies and implications for theory, practice and policy are discussed.

The aim of this study was to investigate the perceptions that teachers in urban and rural schools have of the psycho-social-environmental factors that trigger teacher work stress. Considering a ...phenomenological qualitative approach, with exploratory scope, a case study design is used with teachers from the locality of Collipulli, southern Chile, with a Discussion Group technique to collect data and content analysis, from which it can be inferred that teachers tend to perceive that environmental factors such as deficient leaderships, undetermined teaching roles, work overload, overcrowded classrooms, unmotivated students, and disconnection of parents from their educational role, would be the main threats to their mental health. The psychological resources, coping styles and context perception presented by the teachers in the study are discussed.
Technological development offers new opportunities for people with disabilities, to improve their quality of life and increase their inclusion in society. Motor disability is an alteration that ...affects, at different levels, the movement or manipulation of a person. This paper presents the design and construction of the second version of an electronic device adaptable to a motorized wheelchair that serves as an intelligent navigation system. The first version of the electronic device only allowed for control of the wheelchair through head movements and voice commands. In this new version, the previous functions were improved and two new functions were incorporated. Muscle flexion and muscle contraction increase the options to control a motorized wheelchair by people with greater limitation of movement. The tests carried out demonstrate the viability of the prototype.
