We examined the paradigmatic position of school counsellors as it relates to their practice. A survey and interviews were conducted with counsellors, counsellor educators, and teachers. Findings ...demonstrated that counsellors lacked skills regarding theoretical orientation and applications, counselling practices remained arbitrary and less effective due to the confusion experienced in the adaptation and application of counselling approaches, and the confusion in paradigms stemmed from problems in the identification of local needs, direct transfer of Eurocentric paradigms, training, and professional roles.
Although existential loneliness seems to be a natural consequence of being human, some people may experience it more intensely. In this study, it was aimed to investigate whether frustration ...intolerance, which is one of the basic concepts of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and psychological need frustration, which is the basic concept of Self-determination Theory predicted existential loneliness or not. A total of 294 adults were included in the study. The results showed that existential loneliness was directly predicted by frustration intolerance. As a result of the mediation test, all dimensions of psychological need frustration (autonomy frustration, relatedness frustration, and competence frustration) fully mediated the relationship between frustration intolerance and existential loneliness. The place of these findings in the literature was discussed and some recommendations were made.
The novel coronavirus-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has become globally widespread with millions of confirmed cases and many countries implementing various levels of quarantine. Therefore, it is important ...to investigate the psychological consequences of this process, given the unique situation that has been experienced globally. Therefore, the present study examined whether intolerance of uncertainty was related to mental wellbeing and whether this relationship was mediated by rumination and fear of COVID-19. The sample comprised 1772 Turkish individuals (aged between 18 and 73 years) from 79 of 81 cities in Turkey, who completed measures of mental wellbeing, intolerance of uncertainty, rumination, and fear of COVID-19. Results of serial mediation analyses showed that intolerance of uncertainty had a significant direct effect on mental wellbeing. Rumination and fear of COVID-19, in combination, serially mediated the association between intolerance of uncertainty and mental wellbeing. The findings are discussed within the framework of the psychological consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and related literature.
This study examined the predictive roles of social competence and psychological vulnerability in Facebook addiction. The study was carried out with 248 (139 women, 109 men, M^sub age^ = 21.5 years, ...SD = 2.04, and age range: 18-37) Turkish university students. Participants completed the Turkish version of the Bergen Facebook Addiction Scale, the Psychological Vulnerability Scale, and the Perceived Social Competence Scale. The research data were analyzed by correlation and multiple regression analysis. Facebook addiction was in a positive correlation with psychological vulnerability and in a negative correlation with social competence. What's more, the findings indicated that psychological vulnerability and social competence were significant predictors of Facebook addiction. The contributions and limitations of the results were discussed.
The mediational role of counsellor burnout and dispositional hope between mindful awareness and counsellor self-efficacy has been examined among 243 professional school counsellors from 72 cities out ...of 81 in Turkey. With structural equation modelling and a bootstrap method, the results have revealed that counsellor burnout and dispositional hope fully mediated the relationship between mindful awareness and counsellor self-efficacy. Limitations, directions for future research, and practical implications for the counselling field are also discussed.

Neoliberalizmin sosyopolitik düzlemi yeni bir psişe ...anlatısı ortaya koymuştur. Bu psişe anlatımı doğrultusunda, neoliberal sistem benliğe yönelik bilgiyi ve öyküyü yeniden yapılandırmıştır. Bu çalışmada, neoliberal politikaların psikoloji ve daha özelde de psikolojik danışma alanında yansımaları tartışılmıştır. İlgili yazın incelendiğinde mikro tahakküm alanı olarak birey/ özne, mikro tahakküm biçimi olarak içselleştirilmiş disiplin ve psikolojinin çeşitli yöntemlerle piyasalaşması ya da bireyliğin piyasalaştırılması temaları üzerinde durulmuştur. Ayrıca neoliberal sistemde benliğin yeniden yapılandırılma biçimi incelenmiş, İçsel disipline etme sürecinde benliğe ve duygulara değinilmiştir. Psikolojik danışma alanında bireyin özerkliği ve pozitif gelişiminin sosyal adalet paradigmasıyla bütünleştirilmesinin gereğine vurgu yapılmıştır. Neoliberalizm bağlamındaki eleştirel yazın çerçevesinde oluşturulan bu temaların psikolojik danışma alanına olası yansımaları ele alınmış, sosyal adalet paradigması çerçevesinde psikolojik danışma alanına yönelik önerilere dikkat çekilmiştir. Güçlülük temelli müdahalelerde, iyi oluşun yanında benliğe yönelik neoliberal baskıdan özgürleşme vurgusu yapılmıştır.
Epistemology and methodology in psychological research may be affected by the reflections of the current period. The sociopolitical plane of neoliberalism has revealed a new psychic narrative. In line with this narrative, the neoliberal system has reconfigured the knowledge and discourse about the self. In this study, the reflections of neoliberal policies on the field of psychology and more specifically on counseling are discussed. When the literature is examined, the themes of the subject as the practice of micro governmentality, the internalized discipline as the form of micro governmentality, and the marketing of psychology as well as new forms of individuality through various methods are stressed. In addition, the way of reconfigurations of the self in the neoliberal system, and the cultivation of emotions and internal discipline in line with micro-governmentality practices were discussed. In counseling, the necessity of integrating the individual agency, positivity, strength-based intervention with the social justice and advocacy paradigm is highlighted. Furthermore, in a therapeutic relationship, the emphasis is placed on the motivation of liberating the self from neoliberal pressure as well as improving well-being in strength-based interventions.

The aim of this research study was to investigate the inclusion of students with disabilities studying in Turkish universities. Students with visual difficulty were selected as a case from 24 ...different universities. A survey with seven dimensions was administered to 73 students, and 12 students were interviewed. Survey and interview findings revealed both progress and, to a larger extent, dissatisfaction with (i) the physical and psychosocial environment of universities; (ii) the way diversity and disability were viewed; (iii) the way support was planned and delivered; (iv) the level and quality of communication and collaboration; (v) the teaching and learning processes; and (vi) the way higher education policy was made and implemented. Findings highlight the need for prioritizing university cultures that are inclusive of students with diverse backgrounds and translation of the inclusiveness into effective practice of providing pedagogical and material support to these students.

Vyskumu sa zucastnilo 248 (139 zien, 109 muzov, M.sub.age = 21,5 rokov, SD = 2,04, vekove rozmedzie: 18-37) tureckych vysokoskolakov. Respondentom sme administrovali turecku verziu Bergen Facebook Addiction Scale, Psychological Vulnerability Scale, a Perceived Social Competence Scale. Data boli analyzovane korelacnou a viacnasobnou regresnou analyzou. Zavislost' od Facebooku pozitivne korelovala s psychologickou zranitel'nost'ou a negativne so socialnymi kompetenciami. Okrem toho zistenia naznacuju, ze psychologicka zranitel'nost' a socialne kompetencie signifikantne predikovali zavislost' od Facebooku. Diskutujeme tiez aj prinosy a limity vysledkov vyskumu.
