This paper establishes a structural relationship between BIM strategies in eleven (11) energy sustainability elements divided into management and technical aspects that impact a sustainable campus. ...The work established thirteen (13) benchmarks for independent variables and one (1) dependent variable. The exploratory research design used in this study led to the structural model development being the central focus of the study. A judgmental sampling technique was used to distribute a questionnaire survey among local engineers, assistant engineers, and technicians in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. The research population survey employed 78 returned questionnaires. The analysis used Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) to test the hypotheses. The result indicates that the management and technical aspects of Energy Sustainability Elements (ESE) significantly impact sustainable campus with path coefficients of 2.447 and 5.032, respectively. Furthermore, the findings have revealed that Hypothesis 1 and Hypothesis 2 were all positive and significant at the 0.05 level, indicating that these two hypotheses are valid and supported. This study provides valuable information and insights for Malaysian universities to achieve a sustainable campus by adopting building information modeling (BIM) strategies in the context of energy efficiency.
Abstract
Building Information Modelling (BIM) represents an approach that aims to form and manage information over the building’s whole life cycle. BIM has been mainly adopted for commercial or large ...scales building projects while being mostly neglected by small or residential building. Therefore, the objectives of this study are to evaluate the readiness of BIM implementation for housing maintenance in Sabah, to access the types of priority maintenance in house maintenance, and to determine the potential benefits to apply BIM for housing maintenance. This research is focused on the participants of the construction industry in Sabah to obtain their opinions towards the opportunities and strategy of Building Information Modeling (BIM) adoption in housing maintenance. Two method was done which was a pilot survey that was analyse using SPSS and Revit modelling. The result shows that most of the industry sectors had a moderate knowledge about BIM but they agree that it should be implemented by the authority and the percentage of willingness to change from the conventional maintenance to BIM was high. The 3 highest ranked of priority maintenance is the pipes linkage, electrical faults and sanitary appliance failure. Furthermore, a modeling is created using Revit application and access of information which called the Level of Detail (LOD) regarding the items in houses is easily obtain using schedule list for the purpose of maintenance.
The rapid growth and demand for Islamic banking and finance have brought about the imperative necessity to explore Islamic financial literacy (IFL). This paper reports a review of existing studies to ...understand the determinants of Islamic financial literacy and their connections in OIC countries. The database was methodically examined and selected using the PRISMA Protocol. The initial keywords-based search found a total of 132 articles and it was reduced to 45 articles following several screening phases. The results found that students' knowledge and understanding of Islamic finance are influenced by various factors: 1) socio-demographic background, 2) educational level, 3) religious beliefs, and 4) economic support. It was further revealed that knowledge, attitudes, and education were the imperative determinants of IFL, while the role of religion was the least studied. Our findings provide valuable insights on ways to improve the current state of Islamic financial literacy in OIC countries by targeting specific groups or areas for intervention. It also calls for further investigation on the topic of IFL to establish a sufficient degree of Islamic financial education, attitudes, and knowledge.

Influence of ultrasound on the plug drawing of tubes was evaluated according to the change of stress and deformation state in the deformation zone of the drawn pipe. An impact controlling mechanism ...was classified for individual modes of sound exposition, depending on the position of the drawing plug against the longitudinal ultrasound wave.
"In the last 20 years, international surveys assessing learning in reading, mathematics and science have been headline news because they put countries in rank order according to performance. The ...three most well-known surveys are TIMSS, PISA and PIRLS. The main difference between TIMSS and PISA is type of sample and focus of research. Pupils of the 4th and 8th classes take part in TIMSS. Only 15-year-old pupils of schools (7–12 classes) and colleges participate in PISA. TIMSS measures the academic knowledge (What? Where? When?), 80 % of the TIMSS tasks are directed to reproduction of knowledge. PISA measures functional competences – ability to effectively apply knowledge in various life situations, to logically think and draw valid conclusions (Why? What for? As?) to interpret information schedules and charts, etc. Our teenagers know the school program in biology, but don’t understand what GMO is. They are not bad in calculations, but have problems with statistics... Recently was published results of PISA-2015, sample is more than 400 thousand teenagers from 57 countries. "
Outcome Based Education (OBE) is as an educational process which is based on trying to achieve certain specified outcomes in terms of individual student learning. The OBE assessment includes three ...types of outcomes/objectives: the Course Outcomes (CO), the Program Outcomes (PO) and the Program Educational Objectives (PEO). The PEO is being assessed after three to five years of their graduation date and indicate the achievements of program graduates in their career and professional life after graduation. In this study, two sets of PEOs were used to survey two different groups of graduates; using the Likert's scale and achievement indicators respectively. The achievement indicators were developed by the program using stakeholders' inputs. It was found that the average Likert's point indicates a satisfactory level of achievement and the second survey showed that older batch closely matched the targeted PEO performance compared to the newer ones. In conclusion, while Likert-scale method produces favorable results, the real achievement may not be accurate due to its' dependency to the precise research question being asked, possible response bias and temporal right-censoring. On the other hand, the direct indicator-achievement method produces measurable and clear outcomes. The better performance of older batch may indicate a span of time trend where working experience plays important role in PEO achievement.
The purpose of this study was to report developmental glaucoma and pseudopapilledema in a patient with Proteus syndrome. We defined the presence of developmental glaucoma, right pseudopapilledema and ...myopia in a 4.5-year-old patient with Proteus syndrome. Marked right hemihypertrophy, lipoma, macrodactyly, and asymmetry of the limbs were observed on systemic examination. A cavernoma was also detected in magnetic resonance imaging of the brain. The patient underwent bilateral goniotomy surgery due to glaucoma. The surgical outcomes were satisfactory in both eyes. In conclusions developmental glaucoma and pseudopapilledema might be associated with Proteus syndrome.
Aim
Studies are increasingly focusing on the effects of prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) on child health. The aim of this review was to provide paediatricians with new insights to help them ...communicate key messages about avoiding alcohol during pregnancy.
Methods
Inspired by the 7th International Conference on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, which focused on integrating research, policy and practice, we studied English language papers published since 2010 on how early PAE triggered epigenetic mechanisms that had an impact on the development of some chronic diseases. We also report the findings of a human study using three‐dimensional photography of the face to explore associations between PAE and craniofacial phenotyping.
Results
Animal models with different alcohol exposure patterns show that early PAE may lead to long‐term chronic effects, due to developmental programming for some adult diseases in cardiovascular, metabolic and renal systems. The study with three‐dimensional photographing is very promising in helping paediatricians to understand how even small amounts of PAE can affect craniofacial phenotyping.
Conclusion
Even low levels of PAE can cause adverse foetal effects and not just in the brain. It is not currently possible to determine a safe period and level when alcohol consumption would not affect the foetus.
