Titanium alloys are commonly used in different industries due to its high strength and less in weight. Even though the machinability of titanium alloys is very less, due to its high strength, it ...becomes more useful in aerospace and medical industries. In this paper, the performance of stationary and rotary copper electrodes on machining of Titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V with Electro Discharge Machining (EDM) have been studied. Material removal rate (MRR), tool ware rate (TWR) and surface roughness (SR) were analyzed with three controllable input parameters such as pulse on time (Ton), Peak Current (Ip) and Gap Voltage (V). The design of experiment is chosen for the experimentation as the Box-Behnken response surface design method. The results are analyzed using grey relational analysis (GRA) coupled with firefly algorithm. In both the case of stationary and rotary electrode, it was revealed that gap voltage is significant for overall grey relational grade. The machining performance of Titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V in the case of rotary mode of electrode is quite better as compared to the stationary mode of operation.

Abstract
Anemia is very common in patients with cardiovascular diseases. It has been shown that anemia is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular events in general population and in patients of ...heart failure and acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Various randomized trials have shown prevalence of anemia to be 10 to 43% in patients with ACS. The cardiac remodeling in ACS patients results in left ventricular dilation, which further increases myocardial wall stress. In the presence of anemia, this exacerbates ischemia and enhances myocardial necrosis and fibrosis and ultimately the prognosis. At present, modality of treatment of anemia in ACS patients is less established except blood transfusion. Anemia at admission may have both short- and long-term worse prognosis. Restrictive strategy of blood transfusion, as shown by REALITY trial, may have at least short-term beneficial effect. Due attention should also be given to hospital-acquired anemia (HAA) and anemia developing later, that is, after discharge from hospital. Intravenous iron therapy may be the future therapeutic option, as evidenced by its beneficial effect in treatment of heart failure with anemia.

Most common viruses causing ocular infections are Herpes Simplex Viruses (HSV) type 1 and type 2, Cytomegalovirus (CMV), Varicella-zoster Virus (VZV), and few strains of Adenovirus. Diagnosis of ...these infections through clinical manifestations and using conventional methods has a number of limitations. The purpose of this study was to develop a multiplex Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) for simultaneous detection of all pathogenic viruses from ocular infections.
Ten uniplex PCRs were standardized, two each for HSV type 1 (HSV-1) and type 2 (HSV-2), CMV, VZV, and Adenovirus. Various multiplexing combinations of above PCRs were put to finalize targets and reaction conditions enabling diagnosis of all in a single reaction. The uniplex and multiplex PCRs were run for known positive and negative controls, and samples from clinically suspected patients and healthy controls.
Out of the 170 samples from suspected ocular infections, 24.7% were positive by uniplex PCR and 22.9% were correctly identified by multiplex PCR. None of the samples negative by uniplex PCRs was positive by the multiplex PCR. The sensitivity and specificity of multiplex PCR compared to the commonly used uniplex PCRs as gold standard was 92.86% and 100%, respectively. The prevalence of different viral pathogens was 13.5% for HSV-1, followed by 5.9% for Adenovirus, 2.4% for VZV, 1.8% for HSV-2, and 1.2% for CMV.
The establishment of multiplex PCR has found immediate application in diagnosing ocular viral pathogens in a single reaction, thus saving time, manpower, and resources by fivefold.
The transcriptional repressor ZEB2 regulates development of many cell fates among somatic, neural, and hematopoietic lineages, but the basis for its requirement in these diverse lineages is unclear. ...Here, we identified a 400-basepair (bp) region located 165 kilobases (kb) upstream of the Zeb2 transcriptional start site (TSS) that binds the E proteins at several E-box motifs and was active in hematopoietic lineages. Germline deletion of this 400-bp region (Zeb2Δ−165mice) specifically prevented Zeb2 expression in hematopoietic stem cell (HSC)-derived lineages. Zeb2Δ−165 mice lacked development of plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs), monocytes, and B cells. All macrophages in Zeb2Δ−165 mice were exclusively of embryonic origin. Using single-cell chromatin profiling, we identified a second Zeb2 enhancer located at +164-kb that was selectively active in embryonically derived lineages, but not HSC-derived ones. Thus, Zeb2 expression in adult, but not embryonic, hematopoiesis is selectively controlled by the –165-kb Zeb2 enhancer.
Display omitted
•Zeb2 −165-kb enhancer is required for the expression of ZEB2 in HSC-derived lineages•pDC, monocyte, and B cell development requires Zeb2 −165-kb enhancer•Tissue resident macrophages (RTMs) in Zeb2Δ−165 mice are entirely of embryonic origin•Embryonic expression of ZEB2 may rely on alternative +164-kb Zeb2 enhancer
ZEB2 is required for the development and functions of multiple hematopoietic lineages. Huang et al. demonstrate that the distinct usage of several enhancers identified in this study is the molecular basis for the differential regulation of ZEB2 expression between adult and embryonic hematopoiesis.
Socioeconomic developments and industrialization exert tremendous impact on beaches which is often neglected. Heavy metal (Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, and Pb) contents were estimated in the ...intertidal region from Kalpakkam to Mamallapuram (20 km), southeast coast of India covering seven locations. To evaluate the level of contamination of these metals; enrichment factor (EF), geoaccumulation index (I gₑₒ), contamination factor (CF), pollution load index (PLI) and modified degree of contamination (mCd) were applied. The results were also compared with the sediment quality guidelines (SQGs) to find out the eco-toxicity level. Metal contents in the beach sediment were observed in the order: Fe > Al > Mn > Cr > Cu > Ni > Zn > Pb > Co > Cd. Grain size distribution showed medium to coarse nature of the sediment. Significant positive correlation was found among the metals indicating their common source of input. Based on EF, minor enrichment of Mn and Zn and moderately severe to severe enrichment of Cr, Cu, Pb and Cd were observed which was further confirmed by I gₑₒ and CF values. Moreover, Mamallapuram showed a very high CF value for Cd (>6) indicating very high contamination accountable to anthropogenic sources. PLI and mCd in all the stations indicated unpolluted nature except M1 where the values pointed moderate degree of contamination. As per the SQGs, Ni and Cr values exceeded the probable effect limit value implying that these metals can have adverse impacts. None of the metals exceeded the effect range median indicating that the beach sediment is not very toxic.
This study aimed to investigate four dental adhesive cements and develop a new method for constructing a bi-layered bone holder for implant testing. HahnTM Tapered Titanium Implants (Glidewell ...Laboratories) were embedded in mono- and bi-layered holders, and the implant components were assembled. First molar zirconia crowns and crowns for the tensile bond strength test were milled and sintered. Three self-adhesive resin cements (SARC) and one resin-modified glass ionomer (RMGI, Glidewell Laboratories) cement were used to cement the crowns on the abutment. Tensile bond strength, compressive load, and oblique load tests were performed on the implants. The Glidewell Experimental SARC (GES, Glidewell Laboratories) and RMGI cements had the highest tensile bond strength after thermocycling. The implant assemblies with these two cements had the highest mean compressive strength after thermocycling. Under oblique load, the implants with Denali (Glidewell Laboratories) and GES had the highest strength before thermocycling. However, after thermocycling, Dencem (Dentex) and RMGI had the highest strength under an oblique load. The GES cement and RMGI cement had a better overall performance with zirconia crowns and titanium abutments. In addition, a novel technique for constructing an artificial, bi-layered bone holder was successfully developed to mimic the natural structure of the jawbone.
Adders are the basic building blocks of any processor or data path application. In adder design, carry generation is the critical path. To reduce the power consumption of the data path, we need to ...reduce the area of the adder. Carry Select Adder is one of the fast adders used in may data path applications. The proposed design is implemented without using multiplexer and RCA structure with Cin=1. Instead of using multiplexer and RCA Cin=1 structure, we use simple combinational circuit. After speed, power dissipation is one of the most important design objectives in integrated circuits. As adders are the most widely used components in such circuits, the design of efficient adder is of much concern for researchers. This book presents a performance analysis of different Fast Adders. The comparison is done on the basis of three performance parameters, i.e. Area, Speed and Power consumption. We also show a modified carry select adder designed at different stages.

Virtualization of resources has been adopted in different environments such as wireless sensor networks (WSN), 5G networks, Fog computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and traditional data center (DC) ...networks. In DC networks, virtualized resources are provisioned as virtual networks (VNs), which comprise multiple communicating virtual machines (VMs) and virtual links (VLs) capturing their communication dependencies. However these virtual components, i.e., VMs and VLs, often experience fluctuating resource demands and require dynamic re-embedding as part of the management activities undertaken by the service providers (SPs). This paper focuses on addressing the issue of resource re-embedding via solution components (SCs), where a SC comprises a VM and its attached VLs, with either the VM and/or at least one of the VLs facing resource expansion. In fact, the resource provisioning problem for VNs is proven to be NP-Hard. Further, the requirement of distributed allocation of VMs of the VNs across the servers to avoid single point failure and enhance the survivability adds to the existing complexity. We propose a framework called CoMap that aims to generate an efficient relocation plan in polynomial time for VNs to reduce the re-embedding costs and improve the utilization of DC servers. The overall problem is modeled as a one-to-many matching game with coalition formation at the servers. Simulation results confirm a 32% average reduction in re-embedding cost and a 69% improvement in the average server utilization compared to the baseline algorithms.
