Either a bridge or a door, a sea or a wall, the representations aim at grasping the Mediterranean under the sign of binarity. Never has a sea aroused so much interest as this Middle Sea. Oscillating ...between several representations that drain a multitude of concepts, the Mediterranean crystallizes the major oppositions of current societies. Brought on to the big screen, or being the object of the intellectual analysis of authors, the Mediterranean leads one to interrogation and invites to the reflection on life, on the relations between the carriers of the cultures of the two banks and on the future of humanity. This study proposes to analyze the filmic and literary staging of the Mediterranean as a space where binarity is exercised.
The Dog of Ulysses by the Algerian writer Salim Bachi, with its fusional allures between Maghreb and West, renews with the Homeric heritage in a double intertextual and intercultural perspective. By ...rewriting the myth of Ulysses, the eternal exile, this book revisits the Algeria of the bloody decade, in a double undertaking of questioning a painful past and trying to free oneself from it. A polyphonic novel, many voices are heard in it, the corollary of which is a plurality of ideas accompanied by a fragmentation of identity. Knowing that the identity issue is a central issue of interculturality, Bachi invests it with the demystifying power of ethnocentrism. With the rise of different nationalist discourses in Algeria during the 1990s, the Algerian novelist’s intercultural approach appears to be an ambitious project for the development of a universe permeable to intercultural dialogue and communication through writing that marks a double desire for oneself and the other.
The concept of hybridity continues to challenge researchers in literary and artistic studies. Derived from the field of biology, hybridity recalls the crossing of races and species. Stained with the ...seal of a curse, hybridity evokes impurity and bastardy. It is thus linked to transgression of the norm, to that which deviates from the natural order. When literary research examines the concept of hybridity, it seeks to identify its aesthetic, artistic, philosophical and political implications, and to study its forms of expression, in the arts and in literature. This study analyzes the concept of hybridity in the new generation of Sub-Saharan Novels. Indeed, the sub-Saharan novel of the 1990s2020s offers an opportunity to reflect on the question of hybridity within a broad vision that encompasses textuality, intermediality, interartiality and genre.
One of the characteristics of the writing of the new generation of African writers is the substantial intrusion of the foreign language into the text. This intrusion, the consequence of linguistic ...mixing, brings us to the question of an identity that is between here and elsewhere. Indeed,
the insertion of the foreign language into the language of writing establishes a certain dialogue between the book's readership and its socio-cultural background. As a result of these intrusions, the reader is plunged into the heart of another culture. The novel that makes its progress
through bilingualism draws upon popular inheritance, not in a vision of shrivelled realism, but rather in a particular relational poetics. The cohabitation of French and the other language, or the 'bi-language' as Khatibi called it, within the novel conceived as a space of free
writing, is in fact a form of this opening up of the word, a linguistic intertextuality that results in the space of the novel becoming a laboratory, which must take account of this state of mistrust towards the doxa. What then is this multilingualism? What reading should be given to this
linguistic dislocation? Should we inscribe it in a dialectical relationship with the language of writing?

For some time now, the question of transculturalism has been at the forefront of contemporary concerns. Leaders, politicians, academics, thinkers, educators, and other stakeholders can no longer ...ignore this question or leave it unanswered. Literature remains one of the most effective means of thinking about man, his existence, and the world against the backdrop of on-going geopolitical transformations. The literary production of the new generation of Moroccan writers in French has given new life to Moroccan literature, and we are now witnessing the reinvention of this literature. The new generation Moroccan novel is majestically transcending reductive barriers of regionalism, demonstrating a will to take its place on a universal stage at the centre of the concerns not just of a new society but of the world. Transculturalism is now, increasingly, the problematic at the heart of fictional writings. Reflections about man, about his state of existence, about the dialogue of cultures and civilisations are the major themes of Moroccan literature of the new generation. Through this study, which deals with the francophone Moroccan literary figure Mohamed Leftah, we will focus on Moroccan novels published in French between 1990 and 2010 with the aim of revealing aspects of the renaissance taking place.
A subject that still fascinates university professors and critics in the literature field of French language from Zagreb and Sub-Saharan Africa is precisely the reason of the use of French language ...as a vector of that literature. Who ventures into this sanctuary of the language, could suffer the fate of Hylas, who enraptured by the Nymphs voices, let himself to be kidnapped. Many writers in French language, from Zagreb and Sub-Saharan Africa, say that this language only serves as a medium of expression, failing to mention, consciously or unconsciously, the fact that a language is rather a mediation of a culture, of a vision of the world and of being in the world.
