We present a purity monitor for the KEDR liquid krypton calorimeter. A new method is suggested based on the usage of a short pulse of a gas discharge as a source of ultraviolet radiation for the ...photoproduction of electrons in a drift cell of the monitor. This paper describes the design of the monitor, the results of experiments with gaseous and liquid krypton, as well as the experience of using the developed device in the process of krypton purification for the KEDR liquid krypton calorimeter.

collider. A specific feature of the ...experiment is the measurement of absolute beam energy using two methods: the resonant depolarization and the faster but less precise Compton backscattering of laser photons. This allowed a large series of measurements to be performed, in which the accuracy of determination of such fundamental parameters of particles as mass and total and leptonic widths was improved.
We present a measurement of the pion form factor based on e+e− annihilation data from the CMD-2 detector in the energy range 0.6<s<1.0 GeV with a systematic uncertainty of 0.8%. A data sample is five ...times larger than that used in our previous measurement.

. All detector subsystems (except the aerogel Cherenkov counters) have been ...installed into the detector at VEPP-4M. Some preliminary data have been taken in the energy region of the J/Ψ meson. The tuning of the detector and the VEPP-4M collider is in progress. Preliminary results on the detector performance are presented. The future experimental program for the KEDR detector is discussed.
The process e+e−→ϕ→K+K− has been studied with the CMD-2 detector using about 542 000 events detected in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.01 to 1.034 GeV. The systematic error of the cross ...section is estimated to be 2.2%. The ϕ(1020) meson parameters in the ϕ→K+K− decay channel have been measured: σ0(ϕ→K+K−)=2016±8±44 nb, mϕ=1019.441±0.008±0.080 MeV/c2, Γϕ=4.24±0.02±0.03 MeV, Be+e−BK+K−=(14.27±0.05±0.31)×10−5.
The cross-section of the process e+e−→π+π− has been measured using about 114000 events collected by the CMD-2 detector at the VEPP-2M e+e− collider in the center-of-mass energy range from 0.61 to ...0.96 GeV. Results of the pion form factor determination with a 0.6% systematic uncertainty are presented. The following values of the ρ- and ω-meson parameters were found: Mρ=(776.09±0.81) MeV, Γρ=(144.46±1.55) MeV, Γ(ρ→e+e−)=(6.86±0.12) keV, Br(ω→π+π−)=(1.33±0.25)%. Implications for the hadronic contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment are discussed.

We project the performance of the ATLAS liquid argon endcap and forward calorimeters at the planned high luminosity LHC option HL-LHC by exposing small calorimeter modules of the electromagnetic, ...hadronic, and forward calorimeters to high intensity beams at IHEP/Protvino. The beam intensity extends well beyond the maximum expected for these calorimeters at HL-LHC. The signal reconstruction and calorimeter performance have been studied in full detail.
The ϕ(1020) meson leptonic width has been determined from the combined analysis of 4 major decay modes of the resonance (ϕ→K+K−,KL0KS0,π+π−π0,ηγ) studied with the CMD-2 detector at the VEPP-2M e+e− ...collider. The following value has been obtained: Γ(ϕ→e+e−)=1.235±0.006±0.022 keV. The ϕ(1020) meson parameters in four main decay channels have been also recalculated: B(ϕ→K+K−)=0.493±0.003±0.007, B(ϕ→KLKS)=0.336±0.002±0.006, B(ϕ→π+π−π0)=0.155±0.002±0.005, B(ϕ→ηγ)=0.0138±0.0002±0.0002.

. The beam test setup is described. A detailed study of the performance is given as well as the related intercalibration constants obtained. Following the ATLAS hadronic calibration proposal, a first study of the hadron calibration using a weighting ansatz is presented. The results are compared to predictions from Monte Carlo simulations, based on GEANT 3 and GEANT 4 models.
