An overview of applications of geomagnetic data for practical purposes is presented. Many of them involve models of the Earth’s main magnetic field and spatial distribution of anomalous magnetization ...of the upper lithosphere as input parameters. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can significantly improve the efficiency of detecting magnetic anomalies.
Combinations of six new coordinating tectons ( 3–8 ) tetrakis-pyrazolyl appended calix4arenes, blocked in 1,3-A conformation, based on 1 (tetrathiacalix4arene) and 2 ...(tetrathiatetramercaptocalix4arene) derivatives, with AgX salts (X = NO 3 − , BF 4 − , XF 6 − (X = P, As and Sb)) lead to nine new silver coordination networks. The flexible nature of tectons 3–8 (length of the spacer between the macrocycle and the pyrazolyl coordinating unit), their high number of potential coordinating sites and the loose coordination demand of Ag + cation lead to the formation of a large variety of networks with different dimensionality: from 1D ( 5 -AgSbF 6 , 5 -AgBF 4 , 7 -AgSbF 6 and 8 -AgNO 3 ) to extended 2D ( 6 -AgBF 4 and 8 -AgSbF 6 ) and to a series of three isostructural porous diamond-like 3D architectures ( 6 -AgXF 6 (X = P, As and Sb)).
Cryptophthalmos is a rare ocular cup malformation, which is classified among autosomal dominant inherited diseases, but often it occurs sporadically. The pathology is characterized by the absence of ...eyelids or palpebral fissure or their hypoplasia, as well as by abnormal development of the eye, especially of its anterior segment. The article describes a case of total cryptophthalmos without any associated malformations, with macrophthalmos on the right eye and abortive cryptophthalmos on the left in a one-year old girl. A pathomorphological investigation of the enucleated right eyeball was carried out.
A method for study of charge-transfer interactions between solute molecules and solvent based on the comparison of the ratios of spectral shifts of different electronic transitions in solute ...molecules in chemically inert solvent is proposed. The method is applicable to molecules that do not change their dipole moment on excitation. As an example, a presence of charge transfer interactions in higher electronic states of aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, phenanthrene, and naphthalene) dissolved in water and alcohols was demonstrated.

The presence of valuable biologically active substances, carbohydrates, organic acids and others in the eggplant fruits makes the culture one of the vegetables with the highest antioxidant ...activity. The VIR collection of eggplant includes 830 accessions from 70 countries of the world. The study of new acquisitions in the VIR collection presupposes a comprehensive assessment of the received material according to morphological, biological and economically valuable characteristics. The main objective of the study was to assess the variability of the biochemical parameters of egg-plant fruits in technical ripeness; as well as determination of the best accessions by the chemical composition of fruits and the content of biologically active substances.
Materials and methods.
The study of 19 accessions of eggplant accessions was carried out in 2020 in a winter greenhouse in Pushkin and Pavlovsk Laboratories of VIR (St. Petersburg). The morphological description of the accessions and the assessment for biological and economically valuable traits were carried out in accordance with the methodological guidelines and the VIR classifier. Biochemical analysis was carried out in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of VIR in the phase of technical ripeness of fruits in terms of: dry matter content, sugars, total acidity, ascorbic acid, pigments and anthocyanins.
Results.
As a result of this study, the amplitude of variability in the content of dry matter (6.44- 8.68%), sugars (1.78-3.72%), ascorbic acid (5.92-21.08 mg/100 g), titrated acidity (0.10-0.31%), chlorophylls (0.52-15.13 mg/100 g), carotenoids (1.19-6.99 mg/100 g), β-carotene (0.11-0.52 mg/100 g) and anthocyanins (12.94-1031.40 mg/100 g) in eggplant fruits. Accessions with a high content of biologically active substances in fruits in technical ripeness were identified: Russian hybrids Bourgeois F1, Azhur F1; local accessions from Armenia: k-3156, k-3159, k-3161.
Giant octahedral M32 coordination cages were prepared via self-assembly of sulfonylcalix4arene-supported tetranuclear M(ii) clusters (M = Co, Ni) with hybrid linker based on ...tris(dipyrrinato)cobalt(iii) complexes appended with peripherical carboxylic groups. Due to intrinsic and extrinsic porosity, the obtained solid-state supramolecular architectures demonstrated good performance as adsorbents for the separation of industrially important gases mixtures.

A common tool for detecting mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). An extension of the standard MoCA testing – MoCA-Memory Index Score (MoCA-MIS; Memory Index, ...MI) – allows a deeper study of the mechanisms of MCI formation. We consider the drug Prospecta as an effective measure to prevent the progression of MCI.Objective: to study the efficacy and safety of Prospecta in the treatment of MCI in patients with cerebrovascular disease (CVD) in real clinical practice.Material and methods. The observational program PRIORITET included 192 patients of both sexes aged 40 to 74 years inclusive (mean age 63.6±8.8 years) with MCI and CVD, they were prescribed Prospecta, two tablets twice a day during 24 weeks. The presence of MCI was confirmed by testing on the MoCA scale; MI was assessed additionally`. At the end of treatment, the condition of patients was assessed using the Overall Clinical Impression Scale and the safety of the therapy.Results. The change in the mean score on the MoCA scale after 24 weeks of therapy with Prospecta was 5.3 (p<0.0001). The proportion of patients who responded positively to treatment with Prospecta and after 24 weeks of treatment restored their cognitive functions to normal (MoCA >26 points), reached 48.9%. Additionally, patients were divided into groups depending on the results of testing on the MoCA scale and MI. During therapy with Prospecta, the number of patients in the MIS <7 and MoCA <20 group decreased by 19 times, in the MIS <7 or MoCA <20 group – by 4.8 times. There were 16 adverse events, 75% of which were mild. In 62.5% of adverse events, there was no connection with taking Prospecta.Conclusion. Prospecta is an effective and safe treatment for patients with MCI and CVD.
A series of new manganese complexes of general formula 32-Mn4Xn, displaying a highly-reproducible MnII2MnIII2 cluster core formation, was observed when tetra- p -adamantylcalix4arene 3 was used in ...combination with N,N′-chelating auxiliary ligands, such as bipy (32-Mn4(bipy)2, bipy = 2,2′-bipyridyl) and phen (32-Mn4(phen)2, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), as well as with DMF/H 2 O solvent molecules (32-Mn4(dmf)4, 32-Mn4(dmf)2(H2O)2), acting as O-donor coligands, in the crystalline phase. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction revealed that the involvement of auxiliary ligands in coordination with Mn-ions results in the distortion of their coordination sphere and leads to the controlled compression of the {Mn 4 }-cluster core of complexes. Moreover, the appearance of adamantyl groups at the upper rim of the macrocyclic backbone of 3 influences the crystalline self-assembly of obtained clusters, providing a preferable “side-to-head” orientation of the cluster molecules within the crystal, leading to the observation of relatively higher {Mn 4 }⋯{Mn 4 } distances than those revealed for the earlier reported calix4arene supported {Mn 4 } clusters. All 32-Mn4Xn clusters demonstrated ferromagnetic interactions between the metal atoms within the cluster core independent of the nature of the O-donor or N-donor auxiliary ligands.
Three zinc-based coordination complexes were selectively generated in the crystalline phase using a new flexible molecular "tweezers" calix4arene derivative ligand decorated with two appended ...carboxylic moieties and benzyl spacers (

-Zn(DMF)

was obtained, while two partially deprotonated ligands (

cap the metallic cation, leading to a nontubular "8"-shaped structure with a metal/ligand ratio equal to 1/2. The dinuclear (

complex displays a tubular structure with a metal/ligand ratio equal to 1/1, where two zinc cations act as a linear metal linker between two (

species, which adopts a cone conformation. Finally, the third trinuclear coordination complex (
