"Aesth-hypertexts" is a metaphor intended to convey the complexity, the equivocality, and the ethical and political issues that influence managing as designing. "Aesth-hypertext," is a hybridization ...of the notion of "text" with the notion of "aesthetics" within the framework of information and communication technology. In managing as designing, the hypertext metaphor of organizational life reminds that people are collectively constructing a society where information and communication technology and knowledge-creating organizations constitute its distinctive nature; a society of organizations where the expression "digital divide" emblematically denotes one of the most challenging human problems of the times. However, the principal meaning of the metaphor of the "aesth-hypertext" in managing as designing resides in the theoretical break-down that it introduces into the concept of the reader. The use of the aesth-hypertext metaphor in managing as designing can help managers and student of organization to grasp and understand the features of organizational life that scientific knowledge is unable adequately to convey.
This article describes organizational symbolism from a sociology of knowledge perspective and considers both the theoretical and extra-theoretical bases of the symbolic approach. It illustrates the ...distinctive principles of the symbolic approach with respect to other methods used in the study of organizations, the concepts on which it is based, and the organizational issues on which it has shed significant light. Symbolist studies of organizations have refocused scholarly attention on the multidisciplinary understanding of the logos, ethos, and pathos of organizational life. They have done so by stressing the production of knowledge tout court, rather than concerning themselves with the applicability of the organizational knowledge acquired by this approach for managerial purposes. Organizational symbolism is described in the article as a fluctuating and emerging social construction whose growth and spread has been fostered by support within academia.
Recognized as a standard artifact of Western industrialized societies, it is argued that chairs signify organizational presence & position. Consequently, an analysis of the aesthetics of chairs ...facilitates the understanding of organizational identity; ie, the aesthetics & placement of chairs indicates organizational meaning. The notion of the chair is complicated when issues of acquisition, geographic positioning, & organizational position are considered. Ultimately, it is contended that the aesthetic scopes of organizations are evanescent; unlike a musical composition, organizational aesthetics comprise various constantly changing nuances. It is concluded that aesthetic analyses of organizations emphasizes the dilemma between intuitive knowledge & scientific methods of study. 15 References. J. W. Parker

–Al materials were studied. The materials were sintered under a pressure of 7.7 GPa within a broad range of temperatures ...(1600–2450°C). The formation of a dense material with high physicomechanical properties was found at a sintetring temperature of 1800°C. A further increase in the sintering temperature had a negligible effect on the properties of sintered materials. The formation of titanium diboride and a slight increase in the unit cell parameters of Ti

This article considers both the common ground and the diversity between the aesthetic approach to the study of organizational life and conceptual art photography. Based on a personal account, it ...emphasizes the empathic-aesthetic understanding of action in interactive organizational contexts. The issues addressed are the social construction of organizational memory, the importance of time in organizational life, the interweaving between the reality and non reality of organizational artefacts, the pervasiveness of organizational reproduction, the relation between the `I' and the `eye' in the investigation of organizational processes, the improper use of organizational production, and the relationships between the collective and social construction of creativity niches.
The concept of "organizational time" is introduced in order to explore the internal & particular time of the individual organization (or event) & the time involved in intraorganizational dynamics in ...relation to other times. Focus is on the role of organizational time in shaping the scenario of decision-making processes. It is argued that the heuristic validity of the concept is the interpretation of the choices & culture of organizational actors & their defining of the boundaries of the organization. 59 References.
