For anisotropic magnetic material, nonlinear magnetic characteristics of the material are described with magnetization curves for different magnetization directions. The paper presents transient ...finite element calculation of the magnetic field in the anisotropic magnetic material based on the measured magnetization curves for different magnetization directions. For the verification of the calculation method some results of the calculation are compared with the measurement.
In the waterfowl census carried out in Slovenia on January 13th and 14th 2001 (IWC), 192 observers took part. On the basis of 618 reports, 49,894 aquatic birds were registered in the seven separate ...count areas. 53 different species were established. All water birds were counted. The greatest number of birds were registered in the Drava area, in the coastal waters with their appertaining Mediterranean wetlands, and in the areas of Notranjska and Primorska. The most numerous species during the census were the Mallard Anas platyrhynchos, followed by the Black-headed Gull Larus ridibundus, Common Coot Fulica atra, Great Cormorant Phalacrocorax carbo, Tufted Duck Aythya fuligula, Yellow-legged Gull Larus cachinnans, Common Teal Anas crecca, Pochard Aythya ferina, Grey Heron Ardea cinerea and Little Grebe Tachybaptus ruficollis (all more than 1.000 birds). Standing waters in Slovenia were not frozen over, and karst poljes in the SW part of the country were flooded. The census results were highly influenced by strong northeasterly winds between Cerknica and the Slovene Littoral, and uncontrolled hunting.
During the waterbird surveys conducted between April 2003 and January 2004, common bottlenose dolphins Tursiops truncatus were sighted c. l0 km upstream in the lower Bojana/Buna River along the east ...coast of the Adriatic Sea. With a maximum group size of 6 individuals, the dolphins were observed upstream in the Bojana/Buna River only during the summer, which corresponds to the period of low water level of the river. The Bojana/Buna delta, which is largely unobstructed by embankments and urban development, is one of the few areas in the Mediterranean region where the species still occurs within a narrow riverine system. The inshore habits of dolphins in the delta are probably linked to the low level of human disturbances along the borderline between Albania and the former Yugoslavia till the end of the last Balkan War.Original Abstract: Durante una ricerca sugli uccelli d'acqua, tra aprile 2003 e gennaio 2004, gli autori hanno avvistato i tursiopi, Tursiops truncatus, risalendo per l0 km il fiume Bojana/Buna (Adriatico orientale). I tursiopi sono stati avvistati esclusivamente nel periodo estivo, quando la portata e il livello dell'acqua sono minimi, con un massimo di 6 individui nel gruppo. Il delta del fiume Bojana/Buna e prevalentemente non ostruito da argini e sviluppo urbano, ed e pertanto una delle rare aree mediterranee dove i tursiopi vengono avvistati in uno stretto sistema fluviale. Le ragioni di questa presenza vanno probabilmente ricercate nel basso influsso umano nell'area di frontiera tra l'Albania e la ex-Yugoslavia, fino al termine dell'ultima guerra dei Balcani. Med aprilom 2003 in januarjem 2004 smo ob popisih vodnih ptic opazovali velike pliskavke Tursiops truncatus kakih l0 kilometrov po reki Bojani/Buni navzgor (vzhodni Jadran). Z najvec 6 pliskavkami v skupini smo te videvali izkljucno poleti, ko sta bila pretok in gladina reke majhna. Recna delta Bojane/Bune je pretezno neuravnana -v veliki meri jo je obsla tudi urbanizacija - in je eno redkih obmocij v Sredozemlju, kjer se pliskavka pojavlja v reki. Verjetni vzrok pojavljanja v recni delti je majhen clovekov vpliv vzdolz meje med Albanijo in nekdanjo Jugoslavijo vse do konca zadnje balkanske vojne.
The iron losses were determined by using modelled properties of used electrical steel and calculated flux distribution in the core of the four-pole permanent magnet synchronous motor, working in the ...flux-weakening regime. The distribution of the magnetic induction B(t) in all parts of the motor was obtained by the numerical simulation of magnetic conditions using static 2D finite element software for a complete cycle of field variation. The results of iron loss determination were compared with the results obtained from experiments on the actual machine.
The paper deals with the calculation of the electric field (EF) in the vicinity of high voltage overhead transmission lines (TLs). Since analytical formulae cannot be used to calculate the EF in ...cases when the ground surface under the TLs is not flat or when conducting bodies are located under them, we present the use of FEM for this purpose. The EF distribution has been analyzed for various domestic types of high voltage TLs. A graphical comparison of the electric field intensity one meter above ground level is included

The most numerous species during the census was the Mallard, followed by the Common Coot, Black-headed Gull, Great Cormorant, Bean Goose, Common Teal, Yellow-legged Gull and Little Grebe. Only standing waters in the interior of the country were more or less frozen over. On the coast and in the Primorska region there was no ice, the same as on running waters and great river reservoirs elsewhere.
The finite element (FE) method calculations are used to improve dynamic behavior of the two-axis linear synchronous reluctance motor (LSRM) model, which is appropriate for the control design, the ...real time applications and the low speed servo applications. By the FE method, calculated current and position dependent flux linkages, their partial derivatives and motor thrust are approximated by the continuous functions and incorporated into the dynamic LSRM model as a nonlinear iron core model. The agreement between the calculated and the measured flux linkages, their partial derivatives and the motor thrust is very good. The agreement between all trajectories calculated by the improved dynamic LSRM model and measured during the experiment in the case of kinematic control is very good as well.
This paper describes and evaluates six different experimental methods used for determining magnetically nonlinear characteristics of electromagnetic devices. A tested iron core inductor was supplied ...by the stepwise changing voltages, by the sinusoidal voltages, and by the sinusoidal voltages with offset. Characteristics are determined from the measured applied voltages and responding currents by numerical integration and by impedance-based methods.
