In solving math problems, cognitive conflict can take many forms, for example: when students' expectations are proven wrong when solving a problem; and arise as a result of educators or other ...students expressing opposing opinions. The research aims to: 1) Describe student errors when solving math problems, and 2) To describe students' cognitive conflicts in solving mathematical problems. This research is a qualitative research with a case study research strategy. The subjects of this study were fourth semester students of mathematics tadris IAIN Tulungagung. The research instrument consisted of test questions and interview guidelines. Subjects were asked to work on problems individually and based on their work, then an interview was conducted to determine their thought processes and cognitive conflicts. The results of this study indicate that: 1) Student errors when solving math problems, especially integrals, include: students do not understand the use of the symmetry theorem, and the use of types of functions, 2) Cognitive conflicts that occur in mathematics tadris students of IAIN Tulungagung in solving math problems include; a) conflict between conception and conception. When the subject sees that the final result is not the same, the cognitive conflict situation experienced will encourage their cognitive ability to seek justification, confirmation or verification of their opinion. b) conflict between conception and outcome. The subject uses his conception by producing an area value that is not in accordance with his expectations, including area values that are negative and zero.
Peptides with angiotensin-I converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity have received considerable interest due to their potential as antihypertensive agents and consumer concern over the safety of ...synthetic drugs. The objective of this study was to isolate ACE inhibitory (ACEI) peptides from
(known commonly as sea grape) protein hydrolysate. In this study, short-chain peptides were obtained after hydrolysis by various enzymes and subsequently by ultrafiltration. Thermolysin hydrolysate showed the highest ACEI activity. Bioassay-guided fractionation was performed using reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) to uncover the fraction 9 with the highest ACE inhibitory activity from thermolysin hydrolysate. Peptides in this fraction were further identified using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analysis coupled with de novo sequencing, which gave two oligopeptides, FDGIP (FP-5) and AIDPVRA (AA-7). The identities and activities of these two peptides were further confirmed using synthetic peptides. Their IC
values were determined as 58.89 ± 0.68 µM and 65.76 ± 0.92 µM, respectively. Moreover, the inhibition kinetics revealed that both FP-5 and AA-7 are competitive inhibitors. These activities were further explained using molecular docking simulation. The present study is the first report about ACEI peptides derived from
and it shows the potential for preventing hypertension and for functional food development.
This study was carried out to estimate general combining ability (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA) of pre-and post-weaning traits from a partial diallel cross in three rabbit breeds: Local ...rabbit (L), Flemish Giant (F), and Rex (R). Body weight at 0 (BW0), 30 (BW30), 42 (BW42), and 63 (BW63) days of age, average daily gains from 0 to 30 d of age (ADG0-30), from 30 to 42 d of age (ADG30-42), from 42 to 63 d of age (ADG42-63), and from 30 to 63 d of age (ADG30-63), litter size at birth (LS0) and at weaning (LS42), and mortality at weaning (MR42) were studied in crossing LL, FF, RR, LF, LR, and FR. Local breed had the highest GCA for BW0, BW30, BW42, and average daily gain before weaning (ADG0-30, and ADG30-42) compared to Flemish Giant and Rex, while GCA of Local breed for average daily gain after weaning (ADG42-63), litter size (LS0, and LS42), and mortality (MR42) was higher than for Rex and similar to that of Flemish Giant. Crossing LF and LR showed higher SCA for BW30, BW42, BW63, ADG0-30, ADG42-63 and ADG30-63 than FR. In conclusion, based on GCA and SCA, the Indonesian Local breed has a high genetic potential in the crossing with Flemish Giant and Rex breeds.
Let Γ=(VΓ,EΓ) be a simple undirected graph with finite vertex set VΓ and edge set EΓ. A total n-labeling α:VΓ∪EΓ→{1,2,…,n} is called a total edge irregular labeling on Γ if for any two different ...edges xy and x′y′ in EΓ the numbers α(x)+α(xy)+α(y) and α(x′)+α(x′y′)+α(y′) are distinct. The smallest positive integer n such that Γ can be labeled by a total edge irregular labeling is called the total edge irregularity strength of the graph Γ. In this paper, we provide the total edge irregularity strength of some asymmetric graphs and some symmetric graphs, namely generalized arithmetic staircase graphs and generalized double-staircase graphs, as the generalized forms of some existing staircase graphs. Moreover, we give the construction of the corresponding total edge irregular labelings.
A systematic study on the development of the assessment instrument of the concept of kinematics which is one of the basic concepts of physics has not yet been conducted. This systematic study ...reported the characteristics, quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the instrument assessment regarding the concept of kinematics. This systematic review method has used a systematic approach based on the practical guidelines of systematic reviews by Petticrew and Roberts and has used PRISMA diagrams for the process of searching and selecting articles, who reviewed 12 articles published between 1985 and 2021. The research findings show that the instrument of concept mastery of kinematics using multiple-choice formats, while others combine the true-false and multiple-choice formats. Almost all instruments of mastery of the concept of widely used kinematics have reported validity assessment (content validity, construct validity) and internal consistency reliability. However, predictive validity, discriminatory validity, and temporal stability reliability have not been reported. Other results indicate that the development of further assessments must pay attention to five important aspects: the validity and reliability of instruments, the scopes and specificity of the concept of kinematics, the conformity with the intellectual level of students, the effectiveness and efficiency of instrument assessment, and the fulfillment of research gaps. This study can help educators and researchers choose and develop an appropriate instrument assessment to reveal students’ understanding of the concept of kinematics.

•First ACE inhibitory peptide identified from Black Cumin Seed Hydrolysate.•ACEI peptide was screened and identified using two bioassay-guided fractionations coupled with de novo ...peptide sequencing.•VTPVGVPKW is a true inhibitor as well as a non-competitive inhibitor of ACE.
Black cumin (Nigella sativa) seed protein (BCSP) was individually hydrolyzed with pepsin, trypsin, and α-chymotrypsin. After ultrafiltration, the α-chymotrypsin hydrolysate (< 3 kDa) exhibited the highest ACE inhibitory (ACEI) activity with an IC50 value of 34.4 ± 1.5 μg/mL. This hydrolysate was orthogonally fractionalized using reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) and strong cation exchange (SCX) chromatography, and the most active RP-HPLC and SCX fractions (F7 and H4, respectively) were individually screened out by ACEI assay. These two fractions were analyzed with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS) followed by automated de novo peptide sequencing, and totally 43 ACEI candidate peptides were identified. Three overlapping peptides (VTPVGVPKW, VVTPVGVPKW, and LVLTL) were simultaneously contained in both fractions, and VTPVGVPKW (VW-9) was speculated as to the most potent ACEI peptide based on the in silico analysis. Synthetic VW-9 was used to confirm the identity, and a remarkable IC50 value of VW-9 (1.8 ± 0.09 μM) was determined. Preincubation and inhibition mechanism studies indicated that VW-9 was a true inhibitor as well as a non-competitive inhibitor on ACE, which was further illustrated with the molecular docking simulation. Our study revealed that the application of VW-9 to antihypertensive products is promising.
Lestari DA, Sutopo, Setiaji A, Kurnianto E. 2023. Genetic diversity and phylogenetic study of Ongole Grade cattle population in Central Java based on blood protein polymorphism. Biodiversitas 24: ...617-624. This research provides useful information to reflect the genetic structure and to determine appropriate breeding strategies for the Ongole Grade cattle population in Central Java. The objectives of this research were to investigate the genetic diversity and phylogenetic relationship of the Ongole Grade cattle (Bos indicus) population in Central Java based on blood protein polymorphism. A total of 208 blood samples were collected, which belonged to 6 populations of Ongole Grade cattle in Central Java, namely Rembang, Blora, Kebumen, Semarang, Magelang, and Kudus regency. Blood protein analysis was conducted by Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate-Polyacrilamide Gel Electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) methods to separate blood protein based on molecule weight. Results showed 4 blood protein locus were clearly identified, namely Albumin (Alb), Post Albumin (Pa), Ceruloplasmin (Cp), and Amylase-I (Amy-I), which formed 9 identified alleles and 15 genotypes. All populations had different allele and gene frequency distribution for each locus, which dominated by allele AlbB (0.525), PaB (0.556), CpF (0.608), and Amy-IB (0.639) and by genotype BB (0.312) for Alb loci, BB (0.429) for Pa loci, FS (0.423) for Cp loci and BB (0.472) for Amy-I. Ongole Grade cattle population in this study showed deviation in Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium (HWE) (P<0.05) for Blora, Kebumen, Semarang, and Kudus, while the rest populations showed in HWE condition. Average heterozygosity and genetic distance of the Ongole Grade cattle population in the recent study were range 0.328-0.529 (for Magelang and Kebumen populations, respectively) and 0.0057-0.0955 (for the Rembang-Kebumen population and Magelang-Kebumen population), respectively. In conclusion, Ongole Grade cattle population in Central Java had high genetic diversity and was divided into two major clusters.
