The protection of wildlife in Indonesia is still one of the important topics in the design of media campaigns. Among the various forms of campaign media that socialize is a media campaign in the form ...of animated music videos. This study discusses a two-dimensional animated music video entitled “Sabda Alam” by SMK Raden Umar Said Kudus, which tells about endemic birds in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to formulate the elements in the animated music video to be used as a visual grammar model. This research used a combination method in the form of quantitative and qualitative analysis. Quantitatively, the data shows that this animated music video can have a positive influence on the audience, so that the audience feels more concerned about environmental problems, especially about endangered animals in Indonesia. Qualitatively, the analysis refers to the elements in the visual communication design using a visual grammar approach from Christian Leborg which consists of abstract elements, concrete elements, activities elements, and relations elements. The results of the analysis of this study formulate a visual grammar model that combines formalistic aspects in the basic design, animated film structure, cinematography, and layers of sign meaning based on semiotic theory. This research is expected to be a scientific reference in making animated music videos as a media campaign, and to be able to inspire creators to develop other environmental-themed creative economy products.

Bibliometric portraits of a single journal appear to be rarely taken in the field of applied linguistics. Viewed from the angles of publication, citation, and indexation, one of the journals worth a ...bibliometric portrait is the Indonesian Journal of Applied Linguistics. Casting local and regional concerns on the global applied linguistics, the journal has ranked among the big five Open Access Journals in the Asiatic region since its foundation in 2011. Capturing a corpus of 426 documents by 824 authors from 144 organizations through two free bibliometric tools, i.e. Publish or Perish and VOSviewer, this study portrays the journal from 2011 to 2020 through the lens of Microsoft Academic, one of the largest yet free academic search engines and bibliographic databases. The portrait exhibits the journal's scientific productivity and quality, including the most prolific authors and their affiliations. It also depicts the co-authorship, keyword co-occurrence, self-citation, and bibliographic coupling. How some aspects such as the relative dominance of authors from the university publishing house has evolved before and after the Scopus indexation provide a more vivid portrait of the journal. It could provide not only retrospective but also prospective insights into the ongoing contribution of the journal to the big enterprise of applied linguistics.
This study portrays the status of Open Access Journals in the ten countries joining the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Integrating the data from the ASEAN Citation Index, Directory of Open ...Access Journals, and Scopus, each captured from wider to narrower angels, this work could take a better full-length portrait of such journals including some relevant information in the region. In the first index, the nine countries registered 587 journals, over 50% not listed in the second index. In the second index, the six member states published 1,623 journals of which 39% adopted Creative Common BY. For about two decades they have shown publication and registration growth rates over double than the world has. Indonesia could dominate in all but the third index. In Scopus, the journals in the region averaged below the global averages of all bibliometric indicators but Scholarly Output. Despite this, three countries were above the global average in eight indicators. Over 40% of the 98 journals were ranked in Quartile 2.Such a marked contrast between the number of journals indexed in the second index and that in the third one could lead to the better intra- and inter- collaborations to give the scientific productivity higher visibility and impact.

This study views the Asian research performance in e-learning during 1996-2018 from the number of documents, citable documents, citations, and self-citations along with the citations per document and ...Hirsch index. It also measures the correlation between the six research indicators and the four country indicators commonly associated with research performance of some countries, i.e. the Gross Domestic Product per capita, Research and Development expenditure along with the numbers of university and internationally indexed journals. The data on the six research indicators and journals were obtained from the SCImago Journal and Country Rank. Whereas those on the first two country indicators were downloaded from the Word Bank, those on the third one were from the World Higher Education Database. Asia ranked third among the eight regions in the first four research indicators, fourth in the citations per document, and second in the Hirsch index. The 28 Asian countries were responsible for around 20% of over 60 thousand global e-learning publications. All of the research indicators were significantly correlated with all of the country indicators but the citations per document. This work could describe the pattern of research performance and its relationship with the four country indicators in the knowledge area of e-learning.
For years, religious tolerance between religious groups has been a critical sociopolitical problem throughout the world. To date, there has been little research that investigates the psychological ...mechanisms underlying the emergence of tolerance in religious people. The purpose of this study is to examine whether the roles of intellectual humility and cognitive flexibility in mediating the relationship between religiosity and religious tolerance are dependent on aggressiveness. We employed mediation analyses over data collected from 226 Indonesian Muslim students to test our predictions. Results showed that intellectual humility and cognitive flexibility significantly mediated the influence of religiosity in increasing religious tolerance. As predicted, intellectual humility was the more potent mediator among religious participants who possessed a high level of aggressiveness, whereas cognitive flexibility was the more potent mediator among religious participants with a low level of aggressiveness. The aggressiveness of religious participants also determined whether intellectual humility or cognitive flexibility would increase religious tolerance. Our findings suggest the importance of developing intellectual humility and cognitive flexibility to promote tolerant behaviour among religious people.
Nowadays, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have gained popularity in a blended learning approach at educational institutions around the world. Despite this, little research exists on the students’ ...experiences and emerging challenges with the implementation of this online learning platform in higher education settings, particularly from the Malaysian perspective. In line with this need, this study was conducted to evaluate the usability of MOOC-Open Learning based on the undergraduate students’ perception. Utilizing the quantitative approach, a survey was disseminated through the online approach to students undertaking various undergraduate programs in a public university, namely Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). The study findings revealed that there were generally moderate levels of positive perceptions among the respondents towards all usability aspects of MOOC-Open Learning in supporting their learning process, i.e. in terms of usefulness, ease of use, ease of learning, and satisfaction. As an implication, this study highlighted that respondents’ significant level of uncertainties towards the usability of MOOC -Open Learning and the emerging challenges may require further exploration.
