Childhood experiences are the foundation on which many personality traits develop. Stressful experiences such as parental mistakes may particularly impact the formation of personality traits. The aim ...of the current study was to examine how the childhood experiences of parental mistakes, such as aggression, rigor, and so forth, co-occur with the ability to satisfy one’s needs and to one’s value system in adulthood. The study was carried out on a sample of 402 women aged 21 to 50 years. In order to answer the research questions, a cluster analysis using data mining algorithms and Social Network Analysis was performed. The study revealed that women who experienced fewer parental mistakes in childhood displayed greater need fulfillment in adulthood than did women who experienced more parental mistakes. Women differed in their value systems depending on whether they experienced more mistakes from their fathers or mothers. Women who experienced fewer mothers’ mistakes held more values that were focused on others, while women who experienced fewer fathers’ mistakes espoused more self-centered values.
Background
In March 2021, Biotronik informed about the risk of premature battery depletion in a group of implantable cardioverter‐defibrillators. Following the manufacturers’ recommendation, our ...center executed a recall and introduced remote monitoring (RM) in patients with susceptible devices. This study reports the rate of premature battery depletion in our center and events found in RM‐supported follow‐up.
Methods
Single‐center observational study.
Results
Out of the 206 susceptible implanted devices, 125 patients appeared for the visit and RM was introduced in 107 (83%) patients. Until the visit, three (2.4%) devices required replacement due to battery depletion, and a further three (2.4%) devices had unexpected battery depletion during follow‐up.
Conclusions
The recalled devices had a higher rate of battery exhaustion than expected, while other device or lead defects were less common.
This systematic review evaluates the marginal integrity of flowable and packable bulk fill composite materials placed in class II cavities. Electronic databases inclusive of MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web ...of Science were searched without restriction to date. The titles and abstracts of publications gathered from database searches were screened by reviewers according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. From as initial yield of 142 articles ten studies were subject to qualitative analysis. The authors emphasized that marginal integrity in enamel and dentin does not significantly differ between flowable and packable bulk fill composites used for class II restorations. Moreover, their marginal integrity was comparable to conventional resin composites with incremental techniques. The adhesive system used with a total etch technique and assessed margin located in enamel resulted in better marginal integrity.
Abstract Introduction Leadless pacemakers are associated with a low risk of infection, so indications for their removal are rare. One can expect that the dwell time of the device correlates with a ...more difficult removal, but it has not been proved so far. Methods and Results We present a case of a patient in whom MICRA transcatheter pacing system was successfully removed with nondedicated commercially available tools, 70 months after implantation. Conclusion A successful removal of the MICRA leadless pacemaker is possible, and may be safe even many years after the device implantation, despite a lack of dedicated tools. Due to the potential risk of complications, the benefits and risks of the procedure should be weighted before making a final decision.
Flat foot pain is a common complaint that requires therapeutic intervention. Currently, myofascial release techniques are often used in the therapy of musculoskeletal disorders. A group of 60 people ...suffering from flat feet with associated pain. Patients were assigned to four groups (15 people each): MF-myofascial release, E-the exercise program, MFE-myofascial release and the exercise program, C-no intervention. The rehabilitation program lasted 4 weeks. The NRS scale was used to examine pain intensity and FreeMed ground reaction force platform was used to examine selected static and dynamic foot indicators. Statistically significant pain reduction was obtained in all research. A static test of foot load distribution produced statistically significant changes only for selected indicators. In the dynamic test, statistically significant changes were observed for selected indicators, only in the groups subjected to therapeutic intervention. Most such changes were observed in the MF group. In the dynamic test which assessed the support phase of the foot, statistically significant changes were observed only for selected subphases. Most such changes were observed in the MFE group. Both exercise and exercise combined with myofascial release techniques, and especially myofascial release techniques alone, significantly reduce pain in a flat foot. This study shows a limited influence of both exercises and myofascial release techniques on selected static and dynamic indicators of a flat foot.
Purpose
The aim of this systematic review was to evaluate how etching modes affect the nanoleakage of universal adhesive from in vitro studies.
Materials and methods
PubMed/MEDLINE, Web of Science, ...Scopus and Science Direct electronic databases were searched for in vitro studies that evaluated the nanoleakage of universal adhesives. A total of 511 (after duplicate removal) potentially relevant records were identified in the literature search. The titles and s of the retrieved studies were screened by two independent researchers according to the main concept. Subsequently, the full text of potentially relevant studies was screened using the exclusion criteria. Thirteen studies were subjected to qualitative analysis, and 5 of them were selected for a detailed meta‐analysis.
Results
Seven universal adhesives were evaluated in this review. The meta‐analysis demonstrated that the etch‐and‐rinse technique significantly reduced the nanoleakage of the Peak Universal and G‐Bond Plus adhesives, whereas the self‐etch mode reduced the nanoleakage of All‐Bond Universal. In comparison, the etching technique did not significantly alter the nanoleakage of either Prime&Bond Elect or Scotchbond Universal which was characterized by the smallest nanoleakage.
Conclusions
Etching modes significantly, in various ways, influence the nanoleakage of universal adhesives.
Clinical significance
Contrary to the drive to simplify bonding technologies, an appreciation of their adhesive components and how these perform according to bonding technique could yield a knowledge‐based practical approach that ultimately improves the longevity of direct composite restorations.

A short description of the context of the issue: The ability to fulfill one’s needs is an important determinant of personal happiness, well-being and mental health The study examined whether women who had experienced fewer parental mistakes were better at meeting their needs, and whether there were intergroup differences between women who were more and less efficient at fulfilling their needs in terms of the personality traits their parents tried to mold in them during childhood and the personality traits that the women developed.
Research findings: The results revealed that women who experienced fewer parenting errors in childhood and whose parents tried to shape in them personality traits such as Stability (Alpha-Plus), Plasticity (Beta-Plus) and Integration (Gamma-Plus) indeed developed these traits and were more effective in fulfilling their needs in adulthood.
Conclusions and recommendations: Experiencing more parenting mistakes in childhood is associated with the development of unfavorable personality traits and lower competence in meeting needs in adulthood.
The aim was to examine whether the selection of personality traits of mothers raising sons and daughters want and do not want them to develop differs between the groups of mothers bringing up boys ...and girls.The study involved 158 mothers of children attending kindergartens (82 mothers of boys and 76 mothers of girls) in Poland. The analyzes were performed using: (a) text mining algorithms and (b) support vector machine.In the case of desirable goals mothers of boys choose goals that are in line with the stereotype of a man, but they also try to develop features from the group of community. The mothers of girls choose goals associated mainly with the formation of independence, resourcefulness and community.
The aim of the study was to compare the shape of the feet, the mobility of the metatarsophalangeal and interphalangeal joints and the flexibility of the calf muscles in older women with hallux valgus ...versus middle-aged women with and without this deformation to identify the presence of features which correlate particularly strongly with hallux valgus, and on which prophylaxis and conservative treatment should focus. The study involved 201 women: 92 aged 60-84 years with hallux valgus of both toes, 78 aged 38-59 with hallux valgus of both toes, and 31 aged 38-57 years with correctly shaped feet. The intensity of pain in the foot, the valgus angle of the big toe and fifth toe, the longitudinal and transverse arches of the foot, the symmetry of foot load with body weight, toe joint mobility and muscle flexibility were analysed. Both groups of women with hallux valgus differed from women with normal feet in the height of the transverse arch, the extent of dorsal extension in the first metatarsophalangeal joint and plantar flexion in the first interphalangeal joint. Older women were additionally characterised by reduced plantar flexion in the metatarsophalangeal joint of the big toe, limited flexibility of the soleus and gastrocnemius muscles as well as less pain in the toe area than in the foot itself. The most characteristic changes which were observed in older women with hallux valgus are a limited range of motion in the MTP and IP joints of the big toe, a reduced transverse arch and increased restriction of calf muscle flexibility.
Seniors are a constantly growing group of people in many societies. It is necessary to develop physiotherapeutic programs to improve their mobility. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of ...the physiotherapeutic program conducted unstable ground on selected indicators of motor functions of elderly women. Sixty women (60-80 years) participated in the research. Group A (
= 20) underwent a 12-week physiotherapeutic program on stable ground, group B (
= 20) followed an exercise program on unstable ground, and group C (
= 20) (control group) had no therapeutic intervention. The effects of the therapy were assessed by using a FreeMed platform (foot load analysis) and a Biosway balance system. The results were compared using ANOVA (the one-way analysis), the Kruskal-Wallis test and also the post hoc tests (Tukey's test and the multiple comparison test). In group A, a statistically significant change was observed in the static test and balance assessment, in group B this was observed in the static and dynamic foot tests and balance assessment, in group C, no statistical significance was achieved. The authors' physiotherapeutic program had a statistically significant effect on changes in the balance and selected indicators of the motor functions of the examined people. Comparing the results before and after the therapy more improvement changes were noted in women training on an unstable ground compared to women training on a stable ground.
