Baikal-GVD is a cubic kilometer-scale neutrino telescope currently under construction in Lake Baikal. The detector’s components are mobile and may drift from their initial coordinates or change their ...spatial orientation. This introduces a reconstruction error, particularly a timing error for PMT hits. This problem is mitigated by a combination of a hydroacoustic positioning system and per-component acceleration and orientation sensors. Under regular conditions, the average positioning accuracy for a GVD component is estimated to be less than 13 cm.

Currently in Lake Baikal a new-generation neutrino telescope is being deployed: Baikal-GVD, a deep underwater Cherenkov detector on the cubic-kilometer scale. This paper presents the status of the ...detector implementation and the first physical results obtained with the existing configuration.
Baikal-GVD is a cubic-kilometer scale neutrino telescope, which is currently under construction in Lake Baikal. Baikal-GVD is an array of optical modules arranged in clusters. The first cluster of ...the array has been deployed and commissioned in April 2015. To date, Baikal-GVD consists of 3 clusters with 864 optical modules. One of the vital conditions for optimal energy, position and direction reconstruction of the detected particles is the time calibration of the detector. In this article, we describe calibration equipment and methods used in Baikal-GVD and demonstrate the accuracy of the calibration procedures.

It is planned that new TAIGA-Muon detectors will complement the existing Tunka-GRANDE facility of scintillation detectors of the TAIGA gamma-observatory in the Tunka valley, Russia. The new design of ...scintillation detector with wavelength shifting bars and PMTs is developed. The first prototype of the counter was installed and tested using infrastructure of the Tunka-GRANDE installation in 2017. The mass production of counters has begun in 2018 at the Novosibirsk State University.

-scale neutrino telescope in Lake Baikal. The Gigaton Volume Detector consists of a large three-dimensional array of ...photo-multiplier tubes. The first GVD-cluster has been deployed and commissioned in April 2015. The data acquisition system (DAQ) of the detector takes care of the digitization of the photo-multiplier tube signals, data transmission, filtering and storage. The design and the implementation of the data acquisition system are described.
The concept of the TAIGA experiment is to combine wide-angle timing and imaging Cherenkov telescopes as well as electron and muon detectors. The TAIGA facility aims at gamma-ray astrophysics at ...energies from a few TeV to several PeV and cosmic-ray physics from 100 TeV to several EeV but also pursues searches for astrophysical nanosecond transients, axion-like particles, Lorentz invariance violation and other unexpected manifestations of New Physics. TAIGA-1, a hybrid detector complex with an area of 1 km2, operating since 2021 in the Tunka valley, 50 km to the West from the southernmost tip of lake Baikal, and the plans for its upgrade are presented.

The Baikal-GVD neutrino telescope in Lake Baikal is intended for studying astrophysical neutrino fluxes by recording the Cherenkov radiation of the secondary muons and showers generated in neutrino ...interactions. The first stage of Baikal-GVD will be equipped with about 2300 optical modules. We describe the design of the optical module, the front-end electronics and the laboratory characterization and calibration before deployment.
The design for the TAIGA-HiSCORE array, a part of the TAIGA Gamma Ray Observatory, is considered. The observatory is being constructed in the Tunka Valley, 50 km from Lake Baikal. Preliminary results ...obtained using the first 28 optical stations of the array are presented.
We present data on the luminescence of the Baikal water medium collected with the Baikal-GVD neutrino telescope. This three-dimensional array of light sensors allows the observation of time and ...spatial variations of the ambient light field. In 2016, we observed a maximum of luminescence activity between July and October.

In April 2015, the first cluster of Baikal-GVD was deployed in Lake Baikal and put into operation. It comprises eight strings. Each string consists of 24 optical modules. An optical module is a ...detection element of Baikal-GVD; it includes a Hamamatsu R7081-100 photomultiplier tube with a high quantum sensitivity. We describe the design of the optical module, the front-end electronics, and the laboratory characterization and calibration.
