Abstract
In 2017, the luminosity at the VEPP-2000 collider at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics SB RAS, Novosibirsk, was increased. This required an upgrade of the L-1 trigger to improve system ...performance and stability while reducing latency. In addition, the existing L-1 trigger firmware blocks are outdated and do not meet the new requirements. For this, the development of a device called the decision block will be created. The task of this unit is to generate the decision on whether to record the current event. In this paper, we present the stages of upgrading the L-1 trigger, the decision block design and implementation.
Plant-extracted triterpenoids belong to a class of bioactive compounds with pleotropic functions, including antioxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory effects. In this work, we investigated the ...anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative activities of a semisynthetic derivative of 18βH-glycyrrhetinic acid (18βH-GA), soloxolone methyl (methyl 2-cyano-3,12-dioxo-18βH-olean-9(11),1(2)-dien-30-oate, or SM) in vitro on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages and in vivo in models of acute inflammation: LPS-induced endotoxemia and carrageenan-induced peritonitis. SM used at non-cytotoxic concentrations was found to attenuate the production of reactive oxygen species and nitric oxide (II) and increase the level of reduced glutathione production by LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. Moreover, SM strongly suppressed the phagocytic and migration activity of activated macrophages. These effects were found to be associated with the stimulation of heme oxigenase-1 (HO-1) expression, as well as with the inhibition of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) and Akt phosphorylation. Surprisingly, it was found that SM significantly enhanced LPS-induced expression of the pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) in RAW264.7 cells via activation of the c-Jun/Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling axis. In vivo pre-exposure treatment with SM effectively inhibited the development of carrageenan-induced acute inflammation in the peritoneal cavity, but it did not improve LPS-induced inflammation in the endotoxemia model.

In 2017, the luminosity at the VEPP-2000 collider at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics SB RAS, Novosibirsk, was increased. In this regard, it was decided to upgrade the trigger system of the ...CMD-3 detector. For this, the development of a device called the Final Decision Block was started. The task of this unit is to generate the final decision on recording the current event in the detector based on the data received from the Charged and Neutral triggers. In this paper, we present the designed block and tests carried out with it, as well as its integration in the Data Acquisition System of the CMD-3 detector. The test results are presented both at the test bench and directly as a part of the Data Acquisition System of the detector.
The excellent particle identification (PID) system is needed for the successful execution of the broad experimental program at future Super C-τ Factory (SCTF) in Novosibirsk. The main requirements ...for the PID system are the following: good π/K-separation in whole operational momentum range and good μ/π-separation in the momentum range from 0.4 up to 1.2 GeV/c. The RICH detector based on focusing aerogel (FARICH) could provide good π/K-separation from 0.4 GeV/c and μ/π-separation in the momentum range from 0.4 up to 1.5 GeV/c. The method FARICH is described, beam test results are presented and the status of multilayer aerogel production is given.
The process e+e−→K+K− has been studied using 1.7×106 events from a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.7 pb−1 collected with the CMD-3 detector in the center-of-mass energy ...range 1010–1060 MeV. The cross section is measured with about 2% systematic uncertainty and is used to calculate the contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon aμK+K−=(19.33±0.40)×10−10, and to obtain the ϕ(1020) meson parameters. We consider the relationship between the e+e−→K+K− and e+e−→KS0KL0 cross sections and compare it to the theoretical prediction.
To control the parameters of PIN photodiodes during their mass production, a high-performance automated multifunctional stand has been developed. In this work we present a newly developed TDC (Time-to-Digital Converter) board in the VME-32 standard. The 32-channel TDC board is based on a single FPGA Altera Cyclone III chip. In this paper we investigated Cherenkov radiation component influence on the time of charged particle detection in LYSO(Ce) crystals. Description of the experiment setup and Monte Carlo simulation ...scheme are given. The scintillation and Cherenkov radiation processes in LYSO(Ce) crystal were simulated and studied experimentally with electron beam at Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics beam test facilities. The results of the measurements and simulation are presented. The effect of particle detection time shift due to Cherenkov radiation was obtained. It amounts of several tens of picoseconds for LYSO(Ce) crystal bar (it has dimensions of 3×4×50 mm3). Beam test results are in good agreement with calculations.
