Abstract
The paper presents the solution of the conjugated heat exchange problem in a cylindrical ribbed tube using the open integrated platform OpenFOAM. The obtained results allow estimating the ...fluid heating along the channel as well as the temperature difference on the walls of the tube. It is shown that the minimum temperature difference of the fluid is observed in the center of the tube, and the maximum one is closer to the tube walls.
The paper gives the data available in the literature on the relatively rare disease hypertrophic osteoarthropathy (HOA). This syndrome includes symptoms, such as clubbed fingers (hypertrophy of the ...distal phalanges), periostosis (subperiosteal new bone formation along the distal diaphysis of the long bones with further progression in the proximal direction) and arthritis, as well as skin changes (pachydermia) that are not an obligate sign. There is information concerning the pathogenesis, clinical, laboratory, and instrumental manifestations of this disease. The paper describes a clinical case of primary HOA in a teenager who has been misdiagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). It shows the necessity of including HOA in the spectrum of differential diagnosis in children with articular involvement since HOA may resemble JIA in its clinical manifestations. Patients with primary HOA who have been misdiagnosed with JIA have a long ineffective experience with immunosuppressive and sometimes even glucocorticoid therapies. The specific features that can distinguish the full form of primary HOA from chronic arthritis is the absence of inflammatory changes in the synovial fluid, the presence of clubbed fingers, pachydermia and the lack of morning stiffness.
Responses of ДППД1, ДППД2, and ДАД1 semiconductor dosimetric detectors to a subnanosecond pulse of the SPIN-2 accelerator were investigated. The pulse response of the register channel was ...investigated using an И1–12 voltage drop generator with a rise time of 0.05 ns. The duration of the pulse responses of the register channel was estimated to be
t
1/2
= 0.19 ns and that of an RTO1044 oscilloscope was
t
1/2
= 0.17 ns. The duration of the response of the electron detector with the running wave to the SPIN-2 pulse was
t
1/2
= 0.22 ns. The response durations of the ДППД1 and ДППД2 detectors to X-ray pulses were 0.80 and 0.55 ns, respectively. The response durations of ДАД1 diamond detectors were in the range of 0.28–0.40 ns. The restored ДАД1 pulse responses were 0.15–0.30 ns.
The exclusive photoproduction of \\mathrm {\Upsilon }\mathrm {(nS)} \ meson states from protons, \\gamma \mathrm {p} \rightarrow \mathrm {\Upsilon }\mathrm {(nS)} \,\mathrm {p}\ (with \\mathrm ...{n}=1,2,3\), is studied in ultraperipheral \\mathrm {p}\Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of \\sqrt{\smash b{s_{_{\mathrm {NN}}} = 5.02\,\text {TeV} \. The measurement is performed using the \\mathrm {\Upsilon }\mathrm {(nS)} \rightarrow \mu ^+\mu ^-\ decay mode, with data collected by the CMS experiment corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 32.6\\,\text {nb}^{-1}\. Differential cross sections as functions of the \\mathrm {\Upsilon }\mathrm {(nS)} \ transverse momentum squared \p_{\mathrm {T}} ^2\, and rapidity y, are presented. The \\mathrm {\Upsilon (1S)}\ photoproduction cross section is extracted in the rapidity range \|y |< 2.2\, which corresponds to photon–proton centre-of-mass energies in the range \91<W_{\gamma \mathrm {p}} <826\,\text {GeV} \. The data are compared to theoretical predictions based on perturbative quantum chromodynamics and to previous measurements.

The production of a Formula omitted boson, decaying to two charged leptons, in association with jets in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 Formula omitted is measured. Data ...recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC are used that correspond to an integrated luminosity of 2.19 Formula omitted. The cross section is measured as a function of the jet multiplicity and its dependence on the transverse momentum of the Formula omitted boson, the jet kinematic variables (transverse momentum and rapidity), the scalar sum of the jet momenta, which quantifies the hadronic activity, and the balance in transverse momentum between the reconstructed jet recoil and the Formula omitted boson. The measurements are compared with predictions from four different calculations. The first two merge matrix elements with different parton multiplicities in the final state and parton showering, one of which includes one-loop corrections. The third is a fixed-order calculation with next-to-next-to-leading order accuracy for the process with a Formula omitted boson and one parton in the final state. The fourth combines the fully differential next-to-next-to-leading order calculation of the process with no parton in the final state with next-to-next-to-leading logarithm resummation and parton showering.

The mass of the top quark is measured using a sample of Formula omitted events collected by the CMS detector using proton-proton collisions at Formula omitted Formula omitted at the CERN LHC. Events ...are selected with one isolated muon or electron and at least four jets from data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 Formula omitted. For each event the mass is reconstructed from a kinematic fit of the decay products to a Formula omitted hypothesis. Using the ideogram method, the top quark mass is determined simultaneously with an overall jet energy scale factor (JSF), constrained by the mass of the W boson in Formula omitted decays. The measurement is calibrated on samples simulated at next-to-leading order matched to a leading-order parton shower. The top quark mass is found to be Formula omitted. The dependence of this result on the kinematic properties of the event is studied and compared to predictions of different models of Formula omitted production, and no indications of a bias in the measurements are observed.

A search for pair production of heavy scalar leptoquarks (LQs), each decaying into a top quark and a Formula omitted lepton, is presented. The search considers final states with an electron or a ...muon, one or two Formula omitted leptons that decayed to hadrons, and additional jets. The data were collected in 2016 in proton-proton collisions at Formula omitted with the CMS detector at the LHC, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 Formula omitted. No evidence for pair production of LQs is found. Assuming a branching fraction of unity for the decay Formula omitted, upper limits on the production cross section are set as a function of LQ mass, excluding masses below 900 Formula omitted at 95% confidence level. These results provide the most stringent limits to date on the production of scalar LQs that decay to a top quark and a Formula omitted lepton.

A measurement is presented of the Formula omitted cross section in Formula omitted collisions at Formula omitted, using data recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated ...luminosity of Formula omitted. The product of the inclusive cross section and branching fraction is measured to be Formula omitted, in agreement with the standard model expectation, computed at next-to-next-to-leading order accuracy in perturbative quantum chromodynamics. The measurement is used to validate new analysis techniques relevant for future measurements of Formula omitted lepton production. The measurement also provides the reconstruction efficiency and energy scale for Formula omitted decays to hadrons Formula omitted final states, determined with respective relative uncertainties of 2.2 and 0.9%.
