The KLOE-2 experiment at the INFN Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati (LNF) is currently taking data at the upgraded e+e− DAFNE collider. Present Run II follows a development phase to assess the ...feasibility of a long term acquisition program, Run I, which successfully ended in July 2015 with 1 fb−1 integrated luminosity collected in less than eight months. KLOE-2 represents the continuation of the KLOE experiment with a new physics program. The KLOE detector has undergone several upgrades including state-of-the-art cylindrical GEM Inner Tracker, electron-positron taggers for the γγ-physics studies and new calorimeters around the interaction point. In this article we briefly present the overview of the KLOE-2 experiment including the present status and achievements together with the physics plans.
The KLOE experiment at the Frascati phi-factory recently obtained results on i) CPT and Lorentz invariance tests from the study of quantum interference of the neutral kaon pairs; ii) precision ...measurement of the branching fraction, BR(K super(+) arrow right pi super(+)pi super(-)pi super(+) ( gamma )) = 0.05565 + or - 0.00031 sub(stat) + or - 0.00025 sub(syst), and iii) on dark photon searches with the analysis of the e super(+)e super(-) arrow right mu mu gamma final state. We have also studied the transition form factors of the phi meson to the pseudoscalars, pi super(0) and eta, that is presented in a separate contribution to this volume.
Measurement of the difference of the decay times of neutral kaon pairs produced in an antisymmetric entangled state allows for the search of possible violation of CPT symmetry and Lorentz invariance. ...In this paper we present the recently announced results based on the reaction ϕ → KSKL → π+π-π+π- measured at the KLOE experiment. Obtained parameters in the Standard Model Extension (SME) are:
$$ $\Delta a_0 = (-6.0 \pm 7.7_{stat} \pm 3.1_{syst})\times 10^{-18}$ GeV,\\ $\Delta a_x = (\hphantom{-}0.9 \pm 1.5_{stat} \pm 0.6_{syst})\times 10^{-18}$ GeV,\\ $\Delta a_y = (-2.0 \pm 1.5_{stat} \pm 0.5_{syst})\times 10^{-18}$ GeV,\\ $\Delta a_z = (\hphantom{-}3.1 \pm 1.7_{stat} \pm 0.5_{syst})\times 10^{-18}$ GeV.$$
The ϕ-factory DAΦNE offers a possibility to select pure kaon beams, charged and neutral ones. In particular, neutral kaons from ϕ→KSKL are produced in pairs and the detection of a KS(KL) tags the ...presence of a KL(KS). This allows to perform precise measurements of kaon properties by means of KLOE detector. Another advantage of a ϕ-factory consists in fact that the neutral kaon pairs are produced in a pure quantum state (JPC=1−−), which allows to investigate CP and CPT symmetries via quantum interference effects, as well as the basic principles of quantum mechanics.
A review of the most recent results of the KLOE experiment at DAΦNE using pure kaon beams or via quantum interferometry is presented together with prospects for kaon physics at KLOE–2.
In the upcoming month the KLOE-2 data taking campaign will start at the upgraded DAΦNE
ϕ-factory of INFN Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati. The main goal is to collect an integrated luminosity of ...about 20 fb
−1 in 3–4 years in order to refine and extend the KLOE program on both kaon physics and hadron spectroscopy. Here the expected improvements on the results of hadron spectroscopy are presented and briefly discussed.
