Zn+El/Li sub(2)SO sub(4):Li sub(2)CO sub(3) (60:40)/V sub(2)O sub(5):P sub(2)O sub(5) (60:40) + El + GR cells have been fabricated using the simultaneous pressing method. The voltage versus ...temperature response of the cells after 0%, 25% and 50% depth of discharge at 300 degree C was measured. The data were then used to determine the Gibb's free energy, enthalpy and thermoneutral potential of the cell. For 0% and 25% discharge of the cells, the positive values of the thermoneutral potential indicates an exothermic chemical cell reaction, while for 50% discharge it is negative, indicating an endothermic chemical reaction. This confirms that the nature of the chemical reaction taking place inside the cell during the discharge process depends upon the discharge region, which is in accordance with earlier reports.
Piperine (1-peperoyl piperidine), a major alkaloid isolated from Piper nigrum Linn, potentiated pentobarbitone sleeping time in dose dependant manner, with peak effect at 30 min. Blood and brain ...pentobarbitone levels were higher in piperine treated animals. Piperine treatment in rats, treated chronically with phenobarbitone, significantly potentiated pentobarbitone sleeping time, as compared to the controls. There was no alteration in barbital sodium sleeping time. It is possible that, piperine inhibits liver microsomal enzyme system and thereby potentiates the pentobarbitone sleeping time.
The country India follows the planning through planning commission. This is on the basis of information collected by traditional, tedious and manual method which is too slow to sustain. Now we are in ...the age of 21th century. We have seen in last few decades that the progress of information technology with leaps and bounds, which have completely changed the way of life in the developed nations. While internet has changed the established working practice and opened new vistas and provided a platform to connect, this gives the opportunity for collaborative work space that goes beyond the global boundary. We are living in the global economy and India leading towards Liberalize Market Oriented Economy (LMOE). Considering this things, focusing on GIS, we proposed a system for collection of socio economic data and water resource management information of rural area via internet.
We have seen in last few decades that the progress of information technology with leaps and bounds, which have completely changed the way of life in the developed nations. While internet has changed ...the established working practice and opened new vistas and provided a platform to connect, this gives the opportunity for collaborative work space that goes beyond the global boundary. ICT promises a fundamental change in all aspects of our lives, including knowledge dissemination, social interaction, economic and business practices, political engagement, media, education, health, leisure and entertainment...This paper introduces the application of ICT for rural development. The paper aims at improving the delivery of information to rural masses such as, technology information, marketing information, and information advice. This paper focuses digital divide and poverty eradication, good governance and the significance of internet for rural development. The paper concludes that ICTs offer the developing country, the opportunity to look ahead several stages of rural development by the use of internet. Effective use of ICT can demolish geographical boundaries and can bring rural communities closer to global economic systems and be of meaningful help to the underprivileged.
National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi, India (NPLI) has started a new time service by transmitting digital time data via telephone network in name of Teleclock service which is quite different from ...the usual dial-up time service. Data for the time of the day are sent five times for the sake of redundancy. The phase information related to the second pulse is also disseminated, thus providing the provision of delay compensation. NPLI has also developed a Teleclock receiver to access this time service. Receivers have been designed to access this service either via landline network or mobile network. Real Time Clock of the receiver is set/synchronized with the received time data. The confidence in accessing correct data has been worked out. The accuracy of time signal has been studied for both landline and mobile network. The accuracy of the order of sub millisecond has been observed. Online delay compensation has been planned. Transmission system for commissioning such time service is inexpensive and simple. Further, the cost of the receiver is affordable and mainly depends on the size of the display. So this system opens up an opportunity of staring a national time service and thus is gaining popularity in many developing countries. This paper describes the system configuration, emphasizes the important features of this system and elaborates the uniqueness of this time service.
Ethanol (1 and 2 g/kg, i.p.) and MK-801 (1 mg/kg, i.p.), N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist, offered protection against caffeine-induced convulsions in mice. Subeffective doses of ...ethanol (0.5-g/kg, i.p.) and MK-801 (0.5 mg/kg, i.p.) when administered concurrently, did not provide a facilitatory anticonvulsant action against caffeine-induced convulsions. Ethanol (0.5 g/kg, i.p.) when administered concurrently with adenosine (100 mg/kg, i.p.) or dipyridamole (5 mg/kg, i.p.) elicited a facilitatory anticonvulsant action. However, concurrent administration of subeffective doses of MK-801 (0.5 mg/kg i.p.) with adenosine (100 mg/kg, i.p.) did not offer a facilitatory anticonvulsant action against caffeine-induced convulsions. The protective effect of ethanol (1 g/kg, i.p.) against caffeine-induced convulsions was reversed by an imidazobenzodiazepine, Ro 15-4513 (4 mg/kg, i.p.). Ro 15-4513 did not produce any proconvulsant effect with caffeine. It is suggested that ethanol and MK-801 elicit their anticonvulsant actions against caffeine-induced convulsions through different receptor mechanisms and that the anticonvulsant action of ethanol may be partly attributed to its ability to act via central adenosinergic mechanisms.
