The results of theoretical and experimental studies of thermal secondary effects arising from nonlinear oscillations of gas in an open tube are presented. The heat flow distributions along the tube ...at the transition through resonance for different amplitudes of the piston displacement are obtained. It is established that the heat flow decreases from the piston to the open end. A good agreement between theoretical calculations and experimental data was obtained.
Manganese-doped nanostructured composites based on TiO
2
were obtained by the template sol–gel method. By a set of investigation techniques, it was established that manganese doping leads to the ...appearance of a rutile phase, which grows with increasing manganese content. It was found that during the template sol–gel synthesis of the TiO
2
/Mn composite, the doping element is not only incorporated into the titanium dioxide structure, but also forms separate phases on its surface. Study of the magnetic characteristics of the obtained composites revealed ferromagnetic ordering at room temperature, while lowering the temperature leads to an increase in the coercive force and appearance of the ferromagnet/antiferromagnet type exchange interaction. A magnetic transition at about 43 K, associated with the transfer of Mn

nanoparticles to the ferromagnetic state, was detected in the composites. Undoped titanium dioxide showed a high photocatalytic activity in the visible spectral range, providing 98% degree of indigo carmine degradation. Manganese doping of TiO

microtubes inhibited the photocatalytic activity.

Lung cancer has the highest morbidity rate among all malignant tumors in men and the highest mortality rate in men and women in Russia. In total, 49 145 new cases of lung cancer were registered ...(diagnosed) in Russia in 2019. The majority of cases are related to exogenic carcinogens and mainly tobacco smoke. For several decades surgical resection with preoperative cytotoxic therapy was an optimal approach for maximal cure rate. This year recommendations were updated with new strategies including adjuvant anti-PD-L1 atezolizumab following completion of chemotherapy in PD-L1 positive patients and osimertinib for EGFR mutated cases. For this moment available data suggest the increase in disease free survival. Strategic approach to treatment for inoperable patients varies according to the status of driver mutations. New approach includes pretreatment option of testing for a wide spectrum of alterations with NGS based panels. Significant changes were incorporated into treatment of ALK mutated NSCLC with two new options of brigatinib for TKI naive patients and lorlatinib for those who progress on second generation drugs. Treatment strategy for patients without activating mutations is based on PD-L1 status. Tsis year recommendations included atezolizumab as a new monotherapy option for patients with high depression of PD-L1. Also treatment options for pembrolizumab, nivolumab and atezolizimab were widened with prolonged treatment schedules.
The article contains an analysis of economic and trade relations between the North African countries and the Russian Federation in the late 20th– early 21st century. For a long time these relations ...have been under influence of the Cold War. This influence displays itself in the body and structure of business connections which - with certain countries - used to consist largely of military-tech cooperation, but contributed little to any investment projects. In the early 2000s, the partner-countries started to look for new, innovative forms of business cooperation which would correspond to their national interests, the spirit of time and the calls of the 21st century. By 2017, Russia and the North African states which had put great efforts in a complex environment (economic crisis on the cusp of the 20th and 21st centuries, difficulties of economic reforming, change of economic bodies, review of legal basis governing foreign trade relations, etc.), managed to turn the tide and achieve significant positive results - the structure of exports of goods and services has transformed, the volumes of bilateral trade have increased, the legal basis for business cooperation has developed, investment activity has also slightly increased. However, several major problems still await response, a number of projects have failed to launch. The forecast for development of Russia's trade and economic ties to the North African countries is based upon both analysis of what has been achieved and evaluation of priority fields of cooperation which have large resources and a potential for further growth. These fields include exploration surveys, acquisition of gas, petroleum, uranium and bauxite assets, construction of power assets - hydroelectric and nuclear power plants, building of railroads, opening of Russian trade houses for promotion and servicing of the Russian machinery-tech products, participation of Russian companies in privatization of industrial assets. Implementation of these plans is related to the economic growth in the partner-countries, focus on carving cooperation out of destructive influence of a dynamic political environment.
Eclipsing binaries (EBs) are unique targets for measuring accurate stellar properties and constraining stellar evolution models. In particular, it is possible to measure masses and radii at the few ...percent level for both components of a double-lined spectroscopic EB (SB2-EB). On the one hand, detached EBs hosting at least one star with detectable solar-like oscillations constitute ideal test objects to verify the ability of ensemble asteroseismology to derive stellar properties. On the other hand, the oscillations and surface activity of stars that belong to EBs offer unique information about the evolution of binary systems. This paper builds upon previous works dedicated to red giant stars (RG) in EBs; so far 20 known systems have been discovered by the NASA
Kepler
mission. We report the discovery of 16 RGs in EBs, which are also from the
Kepler
data, leading to a total of 36 confirmed RG stars in EBs from the original
Kepler
mission. This new sample includes three SB2-EBs with oscillations, resulting in a total of 14 known SB2-EBs with an oscillating RG component. This sample also includes six close systems in which the RG display a clear surface activity and complete oscillation suppression. Based on dedicated high-resolution spectroscopic observations (Apache Point Observatory, Observatoire de Haute Provence), we focus on three main aspects. Firstly, from the extended sample of 14 SB2-EBs, we confirm that the simple application of the asteroseismic scaling relations to RGs overestimates masses and radii of RGs by about 15% and 5%. This bias can be reduced by employing either new asteroseismic reference values for RGs or model-based corrections of the asteroseismic parameters. Secondly, we confirm that close binarity leads to a high level of photometric modulation (up to 10%) and a suppression of solar-like oscillations. In particular, we show that it reduces the lifetime of radial modes by a factor of up to 10. Thirdly, we use our 16 new systems to complement previous observational studies that aimed to constrain tidal dissipation in interacting binaries. We confirm the important role of the equilibrium tide in binary evolution, but we also identify systems with circular orbits despite relatively young ages, which suggests the need to explore complementary tidal dissipation mechanisms in the future. Finally, as a by-product, we report the measurements of mass, radius, and age of three M-dwarf companion stars.
A bubble rising from the state of rest in a viscous incompressible fluid is considered. A formula for the Basset force acting on the bubble in a viscous fluid is obtained, which differs by a ...multiplier from the Basset force for a solid particle. The problem of unsteady rise of a bubble is solved analytically. The bubble rise is also studied experimentally and the experimental data are compared with the theoretical results.
The given article highlights features of solving retrospective (successive) tasks of monitoring production and economic activity of the territorial-production system through a profound using of ...scientific principles in the developed and introduced enlarged block diagram of the control system for a functionally advanced solution of the task of monitoring labour force turnover at the entity in the agri-food sphere. Solving the task of monitoring the labour force turnover in the territorial-production system by means of electronic digital machines allows: to reduce the complexity of calculations performed by employees of Human Resources Department and make time for other research and control functions; to accelerate submission of necessary accounting and economic as well as analytical information on the labour force turnover at the entity in the agri-food sphere to consumers; increase the quality of accounting and economic as well as analytical information by eliminating errors, which occur at manual calculation; to build a real scientific basis for developing measures of technical, organizational and socio-economic nature aimed at reducing the labour force turnover. The given list of issues solved at development of the monitoring subsystem in strategic control systems of the regional structure and territorial organization of the agri-food sphere is not complete, the use of industrial methods for creating a monitoring subsystem, training specialists and a number of other issues, which are no less important, should be mentioned as well.
