The purpose of this paper is to assess and analyse the dynamics of flash flooding events in Slovenia. The paper examines in particular the frequency of flash floods and their seasonal distribution. ...The methodology is based on the analysis of historical records and modern flood data. The results of a long-term frequency analysis of 138 flash floods that occurred between 1550 and 2015 are presented. Because of the lack of adequate historical flood data prior to 1950 the main analysis is based on data for the periodbetween1951 and2015, while the analysis of data for the period between1550 and1950 is added as a supplement to the main analysis. Analysis of data for the period after 1950 shows that on average 1.3 flash floods occur each year in Slovenia. The linear trend for the number of flash floods is increasing but is not statistically significant. Despite the fact that the majority of Slovenian rivers have one of the peaks in spring and one of the lows in summer, 90% of flash floods actually occur during meteorological summer or autumn - i.e. between June and November, which shows that discharge regimes and flood regimes are not necessarily related. Because of the lack of flood records from the more distant past as well as the large variability of flash flood events in the last several decades, we cannot provide a definitive answer to the question about possible changes in their frequency and seasonality by relying solely on the detected trends. Nevertheless, considering the results of analysis and future climate change scenarios the frequency of flash floods in Slovenia could increase while the period of flash flood occurrence could be extended.
V prispevku analiziramo letne spremembe najnižjih (Hnp), srednjih (Hs) in najvišjih (Hvp) letnih vodostajev Cerkniškega jezera v obdobju 1961–2020 ter jih skušamo povezati s spremembami lokalnega ...podnebja. Manjša količina padavin, višja temperatura in posledično večje izhlapevanje ter manjši vpliv snežnega zadržka se odražajo v spremenjenem odtoku s pojezerja, kar se zrcali v upadu letnih, pomladnih in poletnih Hs in Hvp, medtem ko so zimski in jesenski Hs in Hvp ostali na podobni ravni. Po drugi strani so Hnp razen pomladi v porastu, kar na letni ravni, poleti in jeseni (kolikor to dopušča nezanesljivost podatkov ob najnižjih vodostajih) verjetno lahko pripišemo umetnemu zadrževanja vode v jezeru, pozimi in pomladi pa podnebnim spremembam.
Vodonosnik ob Mislinji zaradi majhne izdatnosti in dejstva, da se ne uporablja za vodooskrbo, ni vključen v redni državni monitoring kakovosti podzemnih voda. V članku na primeru devetih vzorčnih ...mest (zasebnih vodnjakov in vrtin) analiziramo vrednosti osnovnih fizikalno-kemijskih parametrov vode, na podlagi katerih preliminarno ocenjujemo njeno kakovost. Ugotavljamo, da se v podtalnici odražajo antropogeni vplivi, ki so izrazitejši v bližini območij strnjene kmetijske obdelave ter ob večjih naseljih. Pri večini vzorcev so prisotne povišane vrednosti nitratov in kloridov, pri nekaterih pa se v višjih koncentracijah pojavljajo tudi druga merjena onesnažila. Glede na aktualni Pravilnik o pitni vodi je kar pet od devetih vzorcev neustreznih, oziroma zgolj pogojno ustreznih, kar pomeni, da je podtalnica v vodonosniku ob Mislinji morda že preveč onesnažena, da bi nanjo lahko računali kot na možni rezervni vodni vir za vodooskrbo.
This paper examines the spatial distribution of frequency of flash floods along with their seasonal distribution. The spatio-temporal analysis of past flash flooding covered 124 flash floods ...affecting areas of Slovenia between 1550 and 2015. Flash floods are most common in the mountainous and hilly area of northern Slovenia, which consists of alpine and a large part of subalpine landscapes. Autumnal flash floods occur across most of the country, while summer flash floods are seen mainly in the east. In most parts of the country autumnal flash floods predominate.
In this study, air temperature and precipitation seasonality and their correlation with large-scale atmospheric circulations over the Sava River Basin (SRB), i.e., over the areas of Slovenia, ...Croatia, and Serbia, are analyzed. We used daily air temperature and precipitation measurements from 12 meteorological stations for the period from 1981 to 2010. In addition, mean (Ta), maximum (Tmax), and minimum (Tmin) daily temperatures and daily precipitation (P) were included in the analysis. Temperature values were correlated with atmospheric circulation patterns (ACPs), i.e., daily indices Arctic Oscillation (AO), North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO), and Mediterranean Oscillation (MO) for the same study period. The daily air temperature and precipitation data were obtained from European Climate Assessment & Dataset (ECA&D). The results generally show increasing trends in air temperatures, mainly during the spring and summer seasons, but also non-significant trends for precipitation. Moreover, the correlation results show no or weak influence of ACPs on seasonal air temperatures and precipitation, but the dominant effects differ by ACP type as well as at different seasonal levels. Among the selected ACPs, MO proved to be the most significant for the Sava River Basin.

This article presents the findings from measurements of winter minimum temperatures taken over a period of several years in the high mountain karst depression of Valoviti Do on the Durmitor massif ...(Montenegro), and compares them with temperatures measured in the network of official stations operated by the Montenegro Hydrometeorological Institute. We took into consideration meteorological stations that are located in the coldest sites of Montenegro. The results of the measurements showed that winter minimum temperatures in high mountain depressions of Montenegro are considerably lower than the temperatures measured in the framework of the national network of meteorological stations, which are rarely located in the mountain environment. In the course of taking measurements in five nonconsecutive winter seasons in the period from 2007 to 2015 we also measured the lowest temperature recorded to date in Montenegro, -40 °C.
Vodogradbeni protipoplavni ukrepi predstavljajo pomemben del varstva pred poplavami. Z njimi lahko obvladujemo določen del poplavnega tveganja. Njihov osnovni namen je zmanjševanje poplavne ...nevarnosti na poplavnih območjih, ki si jih je prisvojil človek s svojimi najrazličnejšimi dejavnostmi. Predstavljeni so nekateri najpogostejši vodogradbeni ukrepi za varstvo pred škodljivim delovanjem hudourniških poplav, njihov osnovni princip delovanja, glavne prednosti in slabosti ter vplivi na okolje.
Obdobne pretoke na vodotokih, ki niso neposredno vključeni v mrežo vodomernih postaj, je potrebno ocenjevati. Tovrstno ocenjevanje je pomembno predvsem za ugotavljanje raz-položljivih vodnih količin ...in načrtovanje upravljanja z vodami. V prispevku so predstavljene nekatere možnosti ocenjevanja zanesljivosti ocen obdobnih pretokov, dobljenih s pomočjo hidrogeografskih metod.
