For the first time, a comprehensive study of Vanadium oxide-based selector characteristics with a universal model observed by thermal and electrical induced threshold switching (TS) phenomena at ...interface is presented in this work. The model can explain that the resistance evolution by thermal temperature in TS behaviors, as well as the resistance gradually increases with cycling ("seasoning effect"). Compatible current density (10 7 ~10 9 A/cm 2 ) and selectivity (~100) with physical understanding of evolution in energy barrier and MIT metallic state modulation are studied. The results show a promising design guideline for future storage-class memory (SCM) applications.

In this ...paper, we consider the reliability analysis of Type-I censored life tests of series systems composed of two components with bivariate log-normal lifetime distribution. The major interest is the inference on the mean lifetimes, and the reliability functions of the system as well as components. It is interesting to discover that conventional statistical inference based on the model parameters may yield unreliable results, especially through the maximum likelihood method. Alternatively, we apply the Bayesian approach focused on the likelihood function of the the mean lifetimes after reparametrization. The results are shown to be more promising via simulation study.

It is an important issue to master the characteristics of wind speed distribution exactly during estimating the wind energy. Season and weather conditions of different terrain near ...by the wind field affect the characteristics of wind speed distribution. To evaluate the goodness of fit of Tainan/Penghu’ wind speed distribution, Statistical inference was used to conduct four different probability density functions in the thesis. There are significant differences between the characteristics of wind speed distribution in the terrain of Tainan and Penghu, The Weibull distribution is not always feasible all the time. During some specific months/seasons, the Gauss or Lognormal probability density function shows more significant identification. The moment and the maximum likelihood methods are used to estimate the shape and scale parameters of probability density function. Results show a better accuracy is conducted by the maximum likelihood method.

In general, the so-called recycling and renewal of resources indicates the process where secondary raw material and energy can be reacquired from wastes generated by consumers and manufacturers. Such recycling and reusing not only achieves waste reduction, but also slows down the depletion of primary resources by means of reusing secondary resources.

In ...order to overcome this problem, the introduction of low-dielectric-constant (low-k) material for inter-metal interconnection can effectively reduce the RC delay. However, it is necessary to estimate the compatibility of low-k materials on semiconductor process during the integration of Cu and low-k materials. The purpose of this thesis is to design, fabrication, and testing a prototype of a PEM fuel cell co-generator with high-quality electricity and hot water. The first is to ...build the subsystems of the fuel cell co-generator, temperature control subsystem. Then, a microcontroller of the co-generator is developed and integration of the fuel cell co-generator is completed. Meanwhile, optimal control strategies for operation of the co-generator are proposed. As the ULSI circuits are scaled down, the linewidth and spacings between metal interconnect also are made smaller, transmission delay is primarily caused by the parasitic ...resistance and capacitance(RC) along the metallic lines. There are two principle methods of reducing the transmission delay. The first method is to replace the aluminum wires with copper interconnects which offer lower resistivity and high resistance to electromigration. The second method is to use a lower dielectric constant material as the inter-metal dielectric.
