We investigated the effect of metal reflector on responsivity of Nb 5 N 6 detector in the frequency range from 0.6 THz to 0.7 THz. The designed results showed that the response spectrum of the ...detector was in consistent with the signal intensity on the substrate surface whether it contained a metal reflector or not. Compared to the detector on the Si substrate with the resonant frequency at 0.648 THz, the resonant frequency of the detector on the Si substrate with a metal reflector shifted to 0.683 THz, meanwhile, appearing multiple peaks in the response spectrum. It distinctly reveals the effect of metal reflector on responsivity of Nb 5 N 6 THz detector.
Based on substrate cavity effect, an asymmetric coupled Fabry-Perot (FP) cavity is constituted by simply placing a movable metallic planar mirror in the back of the silicon substrate. The incident ...THz radiation onto the Nb 5 N 6 microbolometer can be effectively manipulated by changing the substrate-mirror distance to modulate the phase relation between the reflect wave and the incident wave. The distinct responsivity control can be observed and the experiments are well explained by numerically analyzing the radiation dynamics that highlights the role of FP cavity effect. All results discussed here can be extended to broad range of frequency and other type of THz detectors.
Background
This phase 3 trial is the first to evaluate the efficacy and safety of treatment with the systemic TNF‐α inhibitor, adalimumab, for Chinese patients with moderate‐to‐severe plaque ...psoriasis.
Methods
In the 12‐week, double‐blind, placebo‐controlled Period A, patients were randomized 4 : 1 to receive adalimumab 40 mg every‐other‐week (following a single 80 mg dose), or placebo every‐other‐week. In the subsequent 12‐week, open‐label, Period B, all patients received adalimumab 40 mg every‐other‐week starting at week 13, following a single, blinded dose at week 12 of adalimumab 80 mg or matching placebo (for patients receiving placebo or adalimumab in Period A respectively). In Period A, efficacy was analysed for all randomized patients and safety for all patients receiving ≥1 dose of the study drug.
Results
For the 425 patients in this study (87 placebo; 338 adalimumab), a higher percentage randomized to adalimumab achieved the primary endpoint of ≥75% improvement from baseline in PASI score (PASI 75) at week 12: placebo 11.5% (10/87); adalimumab 77.8% (263/338; P < 0.001). Physician's Global Assessment of clear to minimal was achieved at week 12 by 14.9% placebo (13/87) and 80.5% adalimumab (272/338; P < 0.001). For patients who received adalimumab at any time during the study (All‐adalimumab Population), treatment‐emergent adverse events (AEs) were reported by 63.4%; the most common was upper respiratory infection (16.1%). Serious AEs were reported by 3.5% of the All‐adalimumab Population, and serious infectious AEs by 1.2%, which include lung infection, pneumonia and tuberculosis 2 (0.5%) patients each. There was one death (chronic heart failure).
Conclusion
In these Chinese patients with moderate‐to‐severe psoriasis, a significantly greater percentage treated with adalimumab compared with placebo achieved efficacy endpoints at week 12 and efficacy was sustained to week 24. Safety results were consistent with the known adalimumab safety profile; no new safety signals were identified in the 24 weeks of treatment.
Two new sesquiterpenoids, castanin A (= 4R*,5R*,5aS*,8S*,8aR*,8bR*)‐8‐formyl‐4,5,5a,6,7,8,8a,8b‐octahydro‐5,8b‐dihydroxy‐3,5a,8‐trimethyl‐2‐oxo‐2H‐indeno4,5‐bfuran‐4‐yl acetate; 1) and castanin B (= ...1aS*,6R*,6aS*,7aR*,9aR*)‐1a,2,6,6a,7a,8,9,9a‐octahydro‐1a,5,7a‐trimethylbisoxireno4,5 : 8,9cyclodeca1,2‐bfuran‐6‐yl acetate; 2) were isolated from the aerial parts of Salvia castanea Diels f. tomentosa, together with two known compounds, oplophanone and 1β,6α‐dihydroxyeudesm‐4(14)‐ene. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analyses and, in the case of 2, also by X‐ray crystallography. Castanin A (1) represents a novel sesquiterpenoid, with a contracted ring A, derived from eudesmanolide. A possible biogenetic pathway is proposed.

We designed a planar bow-tie antenna structure on the high-resistivity silicon substrate for the NbsN6 micro-bolometer at the frequency range from 0.55 THz to 0.75 THz. To effectively couple the high ...frequency signal, the Nb5N6 microbolometer is placed in the antenna gap. CST software was used to carry out numerical simulations for this antenna structure. The E-field and radio frequency (RF) current distribution show conspicuous resonance at about 0. 65 THz. Finally, the delicate design was verified by the experimental results.
Electroplating is a popular method to produce solders in micromechanical systems (MEMS) encapsulation and interconnection applications. In this work, a fabrication process is introduced for ...generation of three-dimensional (3D) Sn solder microstructures. Based on the proposed method, the Sn solders with different heights can be easily obtained after reflow. Metal-armoring provided by the solder-solder contact can be used at the extremes of the suspension travel, greatly increasing the capability of shock resistance. The helium leak rates of the packaged samples are lower than the reject limit based on MIL-STD-883E standard. The bonding strength of samples is measured by die shear strength tests with an average value of 7.4 MPa. In addition, the ohmic behavior of the Sn solder bonding is verified as well. These excellent results show an outstanding packaging quality in MEMS encapsulation applications.
Isochronous mass spectrometry has been applied in the storage ring CSRe to measure the masses of the \(T_z=-3/2\) nuclei \(^{27}\)P and \(^{29}\)S. The new mass excess value \(ME\)(\(^{29}\)S) ...\(=-3094(13)\)~keV is 66(52)~keV larger than the result of the previous \(^{32}\)S(\(^3\)He,\(^{6}\)He)\(^{29}\)S reaction measurement in 1973 and a factor of 3.8 more precise. The new result for \(^{29}\)S, together with those of the \(T=3/2\) isobaric analog states (IAS) in \(^{29}\)P, \(^{29}\)Si, and \(^{29}\)Al, fit well into the quadratic form of the Isobaric Multiplet Mass Equation IMME. The mass excess of \(^{27}\)P has been remeasured to be \(ME(^{27}\)P\()=-685(42)\) keV. By analyzing the linear and quadratic coefficients of the IMME in the \(T_z=-3/2\) \(sd\)-shell nuclei, it was found that the ratio of the Coulomb radius parameters is \(R\approx0.96\) and is nearly the same for all \(T=3/2\) isospin multiplets. Such a nearly constant \(R\)-value, apparently valid for the entire light mass region with \(A>9\), can be used to set stringent constraints on the isovector and isotensor components of the isospin non-conserving forces in theoretical calculations.
Ni–P–carbon nanotube (CNT) composite coating and carbon nanotube/copper matrix composites were prepared by electroless plating and powder metallurgy techniques, respectively. The effects of CNTs on ...the tribological properties of these composites were evaluated. The results demonstrated that the Ni–P–CNT electroless composite coating exhibited higher wear resistance and lower friction coefficient than Ni–P–SiC and Ni–P–graphite composite coatings. After annealing at 673 K for 2 h, the wear resistance of the Ni–P–CNT composite coating was improved. Carbon nanotube/copper matrix composites revealed a lower wear rate and friction coefficient compared with pure copper, and their wear rates and friction coefficients showed a decreasing trend with increasing volume fraction of CNTs within the range from 0 to 12 vol.% due to the effects of the reinforcement and reduced friction of CNTs. The favorable effects of CNTs on the tribological properties are attributed to improved mechanical properties and unique topological structure of the hollow nanotubes.
