This research is motivated by a moral shift among the younger generation, especially students at school, especially in relationships. Many students have bad morals such as like to badmouth their ...friends, like to prank friends and behave impolitely towards teachers and parents. This study aims to describe the etiquette of association and friendship according to al-Ghazālī's Bidāyatul Hidāyah book and identify the relevance of social and friendship etiquette according to al-Ghazālī's Bidāyatul Hidāyah book on the formation of student character. This type of research is a type of library research with qualitative research and data analysis using content analysis with a descriptive approach. The results of this study conclude that the concepts of etiquette of al-Ghazālī's perspective and its relevance to character building is: 1). Etiquette to students, setting a good example to students; 2). Etiquette to the teacher, respect him by greeting first when you meet him; 3) Etiquette to Parents, Doing good and respecting them, without having to be asked by them first; 4). Etiquette to others, Always close and don't spread the disgrace of your friends.
Objectives: We sought to analyze the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) as an alternative marker of neonatal sepsis. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we undertook consecutive sampling in all ...inborn neonates admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with clinical manifestations of neonatal sepsis. Neonates with congenital anomalies and referred neonates were excluded. Complete blood count, C-reactive protein (CRP), and blood culture were carried out as the septic workup examinations based on the local Clinical Practical Guidelines. NLR is obtained by dividing the absolute count of neutrophils from lymphocytes manually. A cut-off value of NLR is obtained using a receiver operating characteristic curve. Results: The median NLR value of the 104 neonates who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria was 3.63 (2.39-6.12). Neonates with NLR of 2.12 have the area under the curve of 0.630 (95% confidence interval (CI): 0.528-0.741) and 0.725 (95% CI: 0.636-0.814) when combined with CRP = 2.70 mg/dL. Neonates with NLR >= 2.12 in clinical neotnatal sepsis had almost double the risk of providing positive blood culture results (relative risk = 1.867, 95% CI: 1.077- 3.235; p = 0.011). Conclusions: NLR, calculated from complete blood count, can be used as an alternative marker of easy and relatively inexpensive neonatal sepsis, especially in developing countries, and detection of proven neonatal sepsis to be better when combined with CRP.
Neonatal sepsis is the third leading cause of neonatal death in the world. The patterns of pathogens causing neonatal sepsis varies in many countries. This study was aimed to identify hematological ...and microbiological profile of culture-proven neonatal sepsis in Indonesian tertiary neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
Hospital based cross-sectional study was conducted in all inborn neonates that were suspected sepsis neonatal over a period of six months from April to September 2019. Complete blood count, c-reactive protein (CRP) and blood culture were examined before antibiotic administration. Statistical analysis were calculated based on Chi-Square's Test and Mann-Whitney U test and p <0.05 considered significant.
One hundred four inborn neonates admitted to NICU and diagnosed with suspected neonatal sepsis were recruited. Culture-proven neonatal sepsis were confirmed in 52 (50%) neonates, 13 (25%) in early-onset neonatal sepsis (EONS) and 39 (75%) in late-onset neonatal sepsis (LONS). The most common abnormal hematological profile were anemia and thrombocytopenia, with amount of 61.5% and 75%, respectively. High CRP only detected in 36.4% and only 18.5% experienced leukopenia. Gram negative bacteria responsible in 75% from total isolated pathogens.
accounted for 48.1% followed by coagulase negative staphylococci (CONS) for 17.3% and
for 11.5%.
Anemia and thrombocytopenia were the top two hematological profile of culture-proven neonatal sepsis. Most causes of culture-proven neonatal sepsis were Gram negative bacteria and the dominant pathogen was

Backgrounds: Antimicrobial-resistant pathogens that form biofilms cause treatment failure, increased mortality, and morbidity. Gram-negative bacteria (GNB) infections have become an emerging issue in ...antimicrobial resistance. This study analyzes the association between GNB biofilm formation ability and the antibiotic resistance phenotype in GNB clinical isolates. Methods: From June to August 2022, this cross-sectional study was conducted at Dr. Soetomo General Academic Hospital. Isolates derived from clinical specimens, including blood, urine, and respiratory tract specimens, were identified for antibiotic resistance phenotypes along with a quantitative biofilm formation assay. The antibiotic resistance phenotype was studied in relation to the GNB isolates' ability for biofilm formation. Results: Of the 271 isolates studied, 95 (35.1%) were non-MDR, 143 (52.8%) were MDR, and 33 (12.2%) were XDR. On the biofilm formation assay, 34 (12.5%) were non-biofilm producers, 237 (87.5%) were biofilm producers, consisting of 101 (37.3%) weak, 131 (48.3%) moderate, and 5 (1.8%) strong biofilm producers. Biofilm formation and antibiotic resistance in Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii were not significantly associated (p > 0.05). However, Escherichia coli isolates resistant to the antibiotics amikacin, imipenem, meropenem, and amoxicillin-clavulanate were found to have a higher predisposition to form biofilms. Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates resistant to gentamycin were also positively associated with biofilm formation. Conclusions: Gram-negative bacteria's ability to form biofilms is not associated with their antibiotic resistance phenotype; therefore, routine biofilm monitoring is critical for enhancing the quality of treatment strategy for biofilm-associated infection.

Background: Open fracture is a typical case in the orthopedics field. Infection in the open fracture can cause osteomyelitis. Antibiotic susceptibility test of patient specimen bacteria with open ...fracture aims to obtain the suitable antibiotic agents to treat infectious diseases caused by these bacteria. Methods: This research is a descriptive study to assess Antibiotic susceptibility in the case of open fracture grade III in Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya. A total sampling was performed from microbiological culture results of patients diagnosed with open fracture grade III after debridement from October 2018 to September 2019. The identification of the microbes was based on Gram-positive and Gram-negative categories and the classification based on susceptibility to antibiotics classified into sensitive, intermediate, and resistant. Results: Data from microbiological culture results of patients with a diagnosis of open fracture grade III after debridement in October 2018 to September 2019 in Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya showed 56 research subjects who met the criteria. Acinetobacter baumannii is the most common bacterial species found in the microbiological examination of patients with open fractures, 15.84%. Cefazoline and ceftriaxone showed low susceptibility. Meanwhile, levofloxacin showed a relatively good value of susceptibility in both Gram-positive and negative bacterial groups. Conclusion: The antibiotic susceptibility pattern of bacteria from specimens in open fracture grade III patients in Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya varies between each species of bacteria isolate.
Hierarchical ZSM-5 was synthesized without organic template and seed-assisted from the abundant natural source, kaolin, via the facile 1-step hydrothermal process. The hierarchical structure was able ...to be well-controlled solely on the Na2O/Al2O3 ratio of the precursor. This method is not only simple but greener from the scientific point of view. As revealed, kaolin layered structure that dispersed in the highly alkaline NaOH medium prompts the formation of zeolite as the molecular organization is induced. The excess of NaOH acts as desilication agent after the formation of zeolite as proven by the 29Si MAS NMR data.
