The aim of our work was to identify the role and the potential of the Air Power in modern warfare as a security factor. The Air Power itself is a concept, which had initially materialized almost one ...hundred years ago over the battlefields of the World War I. Since then we could witness a staging development in the field of technology and the Art of War, which momentum and scope has no precedence in history. In other words, it has taken less than one hundred years for human to move from fragile and underpowered biplanes to supersonic jet fighters and stealth bombers, which represent a state of art technology of mankind. Such speed in development had no precedence in any other operational domain, except maybe of cyberspace.

An Comunn Gaidhealach, as the main representative of the Scottish Gaelic Movement in the late nineteenth century, pursued the essential objectives of cultivating, teaching, and promoting Gaelic ...language, literature, music, and culture. Its members closely collaborated with their counterparts from other so-called Celtic countries, which subsequently resulted in the formation of other pan-Celtic institutions around 1900. The countries involved supported each other in achieving similar goals through common initiatives. This article explores the nature of Celtic connections through the study of the self-representation of the Gaelic language movement. It defines the most articulated topics for An Comunn Gaidhealach and identifies to what extent Celticism was part of the society’s self-representation.
An Comunn Gaidhealach looked at the experience of other Celtic countries as a source of inspiration. While Celtic identity formed a negligible part of An Comunn Gaidhealach’s self-representation, a strong Celtic element was present in its discursive strategies and in the argumentation processes, both inspired by Welsh and Irish revivalist movements. The society defended Gaelic language rights, presented itself as a patron to Gaelic education, and organised the Mòd festival, all the while embracing all political and religious beliefs.
The methodology of the research, inspired by Israeli sociologist Ruth Amossy, analyzes the discourse of An Deo-Gréine, the official magazine of An Comunn Gaidhealach. This perspective highlights how An Comunn Gaidhealach intended to be perceived, what discursive strategies it employed, and subsequently, how and to what extent there was a pan-Celtic aspect to its work. The results of the analysis are complemented by archival research. The conceptual framework of the study is embedded in comparative and transnational approaches to historical research. This approach is reflected in understanding the formation of collective identities from a perspective that transcends nation-states rather than focusing solely on a national context.
The article deals with security as a scientific discipline dealing with the assessment of the technical condition of machineries, hazards identification and risks assessment which could lead to fatal ...consequences. Article highlights the importance of using methods of risk assessment as well as the importance of the security evaluation in manufacturing companies. This article provides an overview of the most widely used risk assessment methods and specifically referred to point method, which is one of the most widely used risk assessment methods.
Despite preventive measures, it is not possible to fully eliminate natural disasters, damages and other undesired events. These may have such negative impacts that might turn into a crisis situation. ...Provided the crisis situation occurs, it is necessary to have an effective system and tools of crisis management. The activity of crisis management represents the solution to the crisis situation using specific principles, procedures and methods aiming at overcoming or minimizing the negative impacts and renewing particular systems. The most important executive tool of crisis management is the integrated rescue system. Voluntary municipal fire brigades represent one of the IRS elements. As part of the strategy of full-area arrangement of forces and means and using the project called Active Flood Protection, over 1000 municipalities in the Slovak Republic were given a flood protection vehicle from 2012 to 2019. The contribution refers to the preparation, activity, current possibilities and importance of VFB when dealing with undesired events focusing on flood protection in the basin of the Hornád River.
Diversity of nature does not apply everywhere and without exception one way to protect against flooding. The prerequisite for an effective response to the flood situation is the emergence of ...continuous monitoring of meteorological and hydrological situation. The aim of this article is to contribute to the prevention of flood not only wrote but to take into account the impact to society. The purpose of this paper is to define the current state of notification and warning of floods in the Slovak Republic. In the present article will analyze crisis situations and their solutions, prevention, measures and crisis management tasks. We will focus on the information system of notification of persons and population warning in the floods. We discuss the analysis of the current state of flood protection in the Slovak Republic. The article will analyze the research in areas critical warning and notification system design and direct solutions for the effective implementation of Slovak Republic.
Aminothiols have been implicated in the pathogenesis of arteriosclerosis, and reliable methods are needed to determine their concentrations in body fluids. We present a comparison of two analytical ...methods and focus on the reduction of low-molecular weight and protein-mixed disulfides of homocysteine, cysteine, cysteinyl-glycine, and glutathione.
The plasma total aminothiol profile was determined by HPLC with fluorescence detection after derivatization with ammonium 7-fluorobenzo-2-oxa-1,3-diazole-4-sulfonate. Disulfides and protein-bound aminothiols were reduced by either tri-n-butylphosphine (the TBP method) or tris(2-carboxyethyl)phosphine (the TCEP method); the effects of temperature, time of reduction, and concentration of reductants were evaluated.
The intraassay imprecision (CV) was <3% for all aminothiols using both methods. The interassay CVs for total cysteine (tCys), total cysteinyl-glycine (tCys-Gly), and total homocysteine (tHcy) were <4% and <8% for the TCEP and TBP methods, respectively, whereas for total glutathione (tGSH) the interassay CV was >12% for both methods. Deming regression and Bland-Altman difference plots showed positive biases for total aminothiol concentrations determined by the TCEP method relative to the TBP method. The mean proportional biases were 65%, 27%, 6%, and 60% for tCys, tCys-Gly, tHcy, and tGSH, respectively. The calculated concentrations of total aminothiols by the TCEP method were less influenced by changes in temperature and concentration of reducing agent or by calibrator matrix.
The agreement between the TCEP and TBP methods was considerably lower for the determination of tCys, tCys-Gly, and tGSH than for tHcy. For total-aminothiol determination, the TCEP method yields better reproducibility and is more robust than the TBP method.
Article deals with the security education in the conditions of universities, the implementation of innovative trends into this process due to increasing its effectivity. When solving the problems in ...the area of security, the important aspect is education and professional training of the employees of security services, but also workers and managers at different levels in the area of security, where high knowledge demands are required. In the context of education at universities, security awareness of people coming from schools to work may help to increase better conditions in this area. Deepening their knowledge and skills connected with the security, increasing qualification and training of graduates, preparation for solving crisis and emergency phenomena in different areas of security (civil, economic, environmental, technical and technological, logistical, and etc.) may also help to increase better conditions in this area. If we use security education as intensive factors of economic, social growth of the companies to, it is important to know how such methods, forms and means in which the intensity and under what circumstances it is necessary to work on learning to achieve effectiveness of the resulting learning.

The paper deals with manipulator end-effector position control. At first the problem of inverse kinematics is introduced. The dynamic model of manipulator by Euler – Lagrange method is derived. In ...order to achieve required end-effector position the feedback control method is introduced for non-linear differential equations system. In the conclusion all mentioned methods are demonstrated on 2 DOF planar manipulator.
The article briefly describes the history of the Prosenice sugar factory; it gives details concerning investments realized since the year 2000 when the factory was acquired by its present owner - ...Hanácká potravinárská spolecnost, s.r.o. The production of raw sugar in Prosenice began in 1881. During industrialization, in the year 1911, the production expanded and a larger scale reconstruction was carried out in the 1930s. An important chapter of the post-war period was "Prosenické hnutí" led by the director, Bohumil Penka, the movement strived for increase in sugar yield. An extensive redevelopment in 1970-1980 placed the Prosenice sugar factory among the top modern sugar producers of that period. Also at present, Hanácká potravinárská spolecnost pays constant attention to modernization of the factory.
