•A novel polymerizable HMPP-type photoinitiator with carbamate HEMA-IPDI-2959 has been synthesized and characterized.•The photolysis of HEMA-IPDI-2959 produces some products with ketone group by ...polymerization.•HEMA-IPDI-2959 is a type I photoinitiator, and has a higher reactivity and lower migration rate than Irgacure 2959.
A novel polymerizable photoinitiator (HEMA-IPDI-2959) was synthesized through the reaction of Isophorone diisocyanate with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate and Irgacure 2959. The molecular structure of HEMA-IPDI-2959 was characterized through 1H NMR, FT-IR, UV–vis and a high-resolution mass spectrum. The UV–vis spectrum and 1H NMR of the photolysis product of HEMA-IPDI-2959 suggest HEMA-IPDI-2959 to be a type I photoinitiator. Furthermore, HEMA-IPDI-2959 and Irgacure 2959 were also used to initiate the polymerization of 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate and Trimethylolpropane triacrylate. Results suggest that HEMA-IPDI-2959 has a higher reactivity with a lower migration rate relative to Irgacure 2959.
An analysis is presented for the free vibration of a functionally graded isotropic elastic rectangular plate with in-plane material inhomogeneity. A Levy-type solution is obtained for plates with a ...pair of simply supported edges that are parallel with the material gradient direction. A particular integration method is adopted to solve the fourth-order ordinary differential equation with non-constant coefficients. The efficiency and accuracy of the analysis are demonstrated through numerical examples.
To investigate evodiamine (EVO)-induced hepatotoxicity and the underlying mechanism.
HepG2 cells were treated with EVO (0.04-25 μmol/L) for different time intervals, and the cell survival rate was ...examined by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) method. After HepG2 cells were treated with EVO (0.2, 1 and 5 μmol/L) for 48 h, the alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activities and total bilirubin (TBIL) content of supernatant were detected. A multifunctional microplate reader was used to detect the intracellular superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and malondialdehyde (MDA) content in HepG2 cells to evaluate the level of cell lipid peroxidation damage. The interactions between EVO and apoptosis, autophagy or ferroptosis-associated proteins were simulated by molecular docking. The HepG2 cells were stained by mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) fluorescent probe (JC-10) and annexin V-fluorescein isothiocyanate/propidium iodide (Annexin V-FI
This paper presents an investigation into the feasibility and potential advantages of a small scale Miller cycle natural gas engine for applications such as domestic combined heat and power systems. ...The Miller cycle engine is compared to a standard Otto cycle engine using cycle analyses and multidimensional simulation, and basic engine design implications are discussed. It is found that the Miller cycle engine has a potential for improved fuel efficiency, but at the cost of a reduced power to weight ratio. A fuel efficiency advantage of

compared to a standard Otto cycle engine appears possible, however it is stated that further investigations, in particular into the topic of engine friction, are required in order to validate the findings.
An evolutionary morphology of BaMoO4 from spheres to octahedra was successfully synthesized via a biomineralization method under the control of poly (sodium 4-styrene-sulfonate) (PSS) at room ...temperature. The as-prepared precipitates were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) and photoluminescence (PL) spectrometer. A possible formation mechanism of BaMoO4 crystals with different morphologies was proposed. PSS complexes Ba2+ first, then simplifies the nucleation process. It controls the morphology and size of crystals by adjusting the oriented growth direction. The PL spectra exhibited a strong blue emission. We found that surface defects, crystalline degree, particle size and morphology were crucial to the PL intensity of BaMoO4.
Ideal metallic biomaterials for use in implants are required to meet the mechanical compatibility, i.e., low Young's modulus combined with high mechanical strength, however, these constraints are ...generally contradictory. Here, an exceptional combination of ultralow Youngʹs modulus of E~45GPa, ultrahigh tensile strength of σb~1185MPa and ultrahigh elastic admissible strain of δ~2.2% is achieved in a new high Zr-containing Ti-based alloy (Ti-50Zr-5Al-4V (wt%)), which is subjected to solution treatment and cold rolling. The ultralow Youngʹs modulus is attributed to a mixture of bcc β and orthorhombic α″ phases while the ultrahigh strength results from the solution strengthening and work hardening. This study can be of significance for developing excellent removable implant materials.
This study aimed to assess the prognostic value of the serum albumin to globulin ratio (AGR) in cholangiocarcinoma patients after surgery.
We retrospectively enrolled 123 cholangiocarcinoma patients ...who underwent surgical treatment between June 2003 and September2014 at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. Univariate and multivariate analyses using the Cox regression model were performed to determine the prognostic value of AGR.
Univariate analysis suggested that AGR was a predictive factor for (overall survival) OS but not for recurrence free survival (RFS). After adjustment for other risk factors, multivariate analysis showed that AGR remained independently associated with OS. The optimal cut-off point for AGR was determined to be 1.44. Kaplan–Meier curves showed that there was a significantly lower mean survival time in the low AGR group compared to the high AGR group. A low AGR was found to be significantly associated with high alkaline phosphatase, gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase, total bilirubin levels and an advanced American Joint Committee on Cancer TNM stage, but a low hemoglobin level.
In summary, patients with higher AGRs have better outcomes than those with lower AGRs. Preoperative AGR can be a reliable marker for evaluating the prognosis of cholangiocarcinoma patients.
Nonaqueous capillary electrophoresis (NACE) is very well suited for online coupling with mass spectrometry due to the relatively high volatility and low surface tension of most organic solvents. Here ...we present a quantitative NACE-ESI-MS/MS method for separating and determining physcion, chrysophanol, and aloe-emodin in rhubarb. Dantron was used as an internal standard to ensure accuracy and reproducibility in quantitative analyses. Parameters including the pH, background electrolyte (BGE) composition, flow-through microvial chemical modifier solution composition, and modifier solution flow rate were carefully optimized. The developed method was validated by assessing its precision, LODs, and linear range. The contents of physcion, chrysophanol, and aloe-emodin in rhubarb were determined to be 0.22%, 1.0%, and 0.17%, respectively.
We present X-ray timing results of the new black hole candidate MAXI J1535−571 during its 2017 outburst from Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) observations taken from 2017 September 6 to ...23. Following the definitions given by Belloni, we find that the source exhibits transitions from the low/hard state to the hard intermediate state, and eventually to the soft intermediate state. Quasi-periodic oscillations (QPOs) are found in the intermediate states, which suggest different types of QPOs. With the large effective area of Insight-HXMT at high energies, we are able to present the energy dependence of the QPO amplitude and centroid frequency up to 100 keV, which has rarely been explored by previous satellites. We also find that the phase lag at the type-C QPOs centroid frequency is negative (soft lag) and strongly correlated with the centroid frequency. Assuming a geometrical origin of type-C QPOs, the source is consistent with being a high-inclination system.
Purpose
The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a clinical predictive model for predicting the likelihood of a poor therapeutic response during the first year of recombinant human ...growth hormone (rhGH) treatment in children with growth disorders.
Methods
A total of 627 pediatric patients with growth disorders (GHD, ISS, TS, SGA) from The LG Growth Study cohort were evaluated. Restricted cubic splines (RCS) were utilized to investigate the association between predictors and the risk of poor rhGH response. Variables were selected using LASSO regression, and multivariate logistics regression models were established. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, calibration curves, decision curve analysis (DCA), and clinical impact curves (CIC) were used to assess the predictive model’s accuracy and clinical value. The predictive accuracy of the model was validated on the testing set.
Results
Two predictive models containing 8 baseline predictors (diagnosis, age, height SDS, bone age minus chronological age, rhGH dosage, distance from mid-parental height in SDS, weight SDS, IGF-1 SDS) and 1 post-treatment predictor (height SDS gain at 6 months) were constructed by multivariate logistic regression analyses. The nomogram was built based on the multivariate predictive model and showed good discrimination and model fit effects in both the training set and the testing set. DCA and CIC analyses presented good clinical usability.
Conclusion
The clinical predictive model for predicting the probability of poor short-term response of rhGH treatment in pediatric patients with growth disorders is useful and can assist physicians in making clinical decisions.
