To investigate the frequency of p16 and p15 gene methylation in multiple myeloma (MM), and its relationship with bone marrow cell apoptosis and clinical outcome.
Twenty-two patients with MM were ...studied to detect p16 and p15 gene methylation. Methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction (MSP) was used to detect gene methylation, and terminal transferase-mediated dUTP nick end-labeling (TUNEL) was used to detect cell apoptosis.
p16 and/or p15 gene methylatoin was detected in 10 of 22 patients (45.4%). There were 3 patients with p16 gene methylation, 9 patients with p15 gene methylation, and 2 patients with both genes methylation. The incidence of methylation of p15 gene was higher than that of p16 gene (P < 0.05). The patients with p16 and/or p15 gene methylation had a delayed cell apoptosis, poor response to chemotherapy, and a short over-all survival (OS).
The methylation of p16 and/or p15 gene plays a key role in MM apoptosis pathogenesis. The patients with both p16 and p15 gene methylation had a poor prognosis.
Dialog-act tagging is one of the hot topics in processing human-human conversation. In this paper, we introduce a novel model to predict and tag the dialog-act, in which Markov decision process (MDP) ...is utilized to predict the dialog-act sequence instead of using traditional dialog-act based n-gram, and Support Vector Machine (SVM) is employed to classify the dialog-act for each utterance. The predicting result of MDP and the classifying result of SVM are integrated as the final tagging. The experimental results have shown that our approach outperforms the traditional method.
Recently, Choi \emph{et al}. proposed an assumption on Mayers-Lo-Chau (MLC) no-go theorem that the state of the entire quantum system is invariable to both participants before the unveiling phase. ...This means that the theorem is only applicable to static quantum bit commitment (QBC). This paper find that the assumption is unnecessary and the MLC no-go theorem can be applied to not only static QBC, but also non-static one. A non-static QBC protocol proposed by Choi \emph{et al.} is briefly reviewed and analyzed to work as a supporting example. In addition, a novel way to prove the impossibility of the two kinds of QBC is given.
The cortexes were obtained from new-born rats and dissociated to single cells by triturating. The ceils were cultured in neural stem cell (NSC) culture medium (DMEM supplemented with bFGF, EGF and ...B27) and formed primary neurospheres after 7 days. Single ceils dissociated from neurosphere were cultured in 96-well plates and formed single-cell cloning neurosphere 7 days later. The primary and single-cell cloning neurospheres were both positive for the immunofluorescent staining of nestin and were identified as NSC. It was proved that NSC can be expanded in vitro and orovide seed cells for neural tissue engineering.
This paper proposes the design of a scalable memory-shared multiprocessing system SMMP which supports Client/Server mode. SMMP system is composed of two-level interconnection networks, three-level ...memory subsystem and three-level I/O subsystem. There are many advantages in the design of our SMMP, such as scalable, easy to implement and operate, general purpose and large I/O throughput. It can be an excellent server for high-speed communication network.
