Cheyletuseruditus (Schrank) is widely existed in grain depots and warehouse, which is an ideal natural enemy resources with control potentialagainst pests and mites, especially for eggs and young ...larvae.In order to evaluate its biological control potential to Acarussiro (Linnaeus),functional response analyses were conducted of three C.eruditusstages, protonymph, deutonymph and female adult to four Acarussiro stages, eggs, larve, nymphs and adult. The results showed that the predation function of C.eruditusprotonymphs, deutonymphs and female adult all belonged to the HollingⅡtype to four stages of Acarussiro. The predation ability of female adult was the highest, and its attacking efficiency on different stages of Acarussiro was 0.913 (egg),1.030 (larva),1.017 (deutonymph),0.989 (adult)respectively. The female adult of C.eruditus preferred to the larvae, with the maximum predatory efficiency 42.436 larvae per day.In terms of the predatory capacity of C.eruditus to Acarussiro, female adult showed the highest potential in preying different stages of Acarussiro except for the eggs, then was deutonymph. C.eruditus was the mostpotential native Phytoseiid species that might be used in Acarussiro control. This study laid a foundation parameter for the control of stored grain pest and mites by C.eruditus, and provided a reference for the further application of C.eruditus to control pest insects and mites.
Objective To explore the clinical diagnostic value of serum dickkopf-1 (DKK1) level in menopausal women with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) secondary to osteoporosis (OP). Methods A total of 236 ...menopausal female patients diagnosed in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from May 2019 to September 2020 were collected, including 44 patients with OP secondary to RA set as RA+OP group, 150 patients with RA without OP set as RA group, and 42 patients with OP set as OP group, respectively. At the same time, 43 healthy menopausal women in our hospital at the same period were selected as control group. Serum DKK1 was detected by ELISA. The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) were detected by capillary method and rate-scattering turbidimetry, respectively; The bone metabolism indexes such as parathyroid hormone (PTH), type Ⅰ procollagen C-terminal propeptide (CTX), 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 25-(OH)D3, type Ⅰ procollagen N-terminal propeptide (PINP) and osteocalcin were detected
To explore the relation of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene polymorphism, angiotensin II type I receptor (ATIR) gene polymorphism and other factors on cerebral infarction.
One thousand three ...hundred fifty-one subjects from Tangshan coalmine were enrolled with study method of cluster sampling. Face to face interviews were conducted to fill in questionnaires by trained interviewers. ACE gene, ATIR gene and inflammation factors including tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-8, IL-10, C reactive protein (CRP), fibrinogen (Fg), fibrin monome polymerized velocity (FMPV), absorbance maximum (A(max)), FMPV/A(max), were measured.
No different prevalence rates of ACE genotype were found on cerebral infarction. The distributions of AA genotype of ATIR gene in the cerebral infarction was higher than that of the controls. The prevalence of AA genotype was higher than other groups, but the prevalence of combined genotype did not show much difference. Under the existence of factors that
In this study, we developed a facile technique to fabricate a surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate. The technique involves self-assembling monodispersive SiO sub(2) spheres on silicon ...wafer, then coating with a thin Ag film to form a SERS substrate comprised of a Ag coated monolayer array of SiO sub(2) spheres. The substrate can detect minute amounts of organic dye. By optimizing the fabrication process, including controlling the size of the SiO sub(2) spheres, the distribution of the SiO sub(2) spheres on the silicon wafer, and the thickness of the Ag film, a dramatic increase in the enhancement of Raman scattering signals by surface plasmon resonance can be achieved. The enhancement of Raman scattering is closely correlated to the absorption peak of the organic dye and the excitation wavelength of the Raman system. A 40 000-fold enhancement has been observed for a substrate prepared with 350 nm SiO sub(2) spheres self-assembled on silicon wafer and coated with a 150 nm Ag layer. Through experimental and theoretical calculations (FDTD), such a strong signal intensity originates from the closeness between the absorption peak of the organic dye and the Raman excitation wavelength occurring at the hot spots of the SERS substrate. The high sensitivity, low cost and quick response provided by this type of SERS substrate are useful for the design and fabrication of functional devices and sensors.
The insecticide chlorantraniliprole exhibits good efifcacy and plays an important role in controlling the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella Linnaeus. However, resistance to chlorantraniliprole ...has been observed recently in some ifeld populations. At present study, diamondback moths with resistance to chlorantraniliprole (resistant ratio (RR) was 82.18) for biochemical assays were selected. The assays were performed to determine potential resistance mechanisms. The results showed that the selected resistant moths (GDLZ-R) and susceptible moth could be synergized by known metabolic inhibitors such as piperonyl butoxide (PBO), triphenyl phosphate (TPP) and diethyl-maleate (DEM) at different levels (1.68-5.50-fold and 2.20-2.89-fold, respectively), and DEM showed the maximum synergism in both strains. In enzymes assays, a high level of glutathione-S-transferase (GST) was observed in the resistant moth, in contrast, moths that are susceptible to the insecticide had only 1/3 the GST activity of the resistant moths. The analysis of short-term exposure of chlorantraniliprole on biochemical response in the resistant strain also showed that GST activity was signiifcantly elevated after exposure to a sub-lethal concentration of chlorantraniliprole (about 1/3 LC50, 12 mg L-1) 12 and 24 h, respectively. The results show that there is a strong correlation between the enzyme activity and resistance, and GST is likely the main detoxiifcation mechanism responsible for resistance to chlorantraniliprole in P. xylostella L., cytochrome P450 monooxygenase (P450) and carboxy-lesterase (CarE) are involved in to some extent.

Anaerobic glycolysis and gluconeogenesis have been suggested to be important for the growth of cancer cells. Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) is a pace-setting enzyme in ...gluconeogenesis and glycerogenesis for lipogenesis. The reaction requires GTP to catalyze the conversion from oxaloacetate to phosphoenolpyruvate. Two isozymes of PEPCK are compartmentalized to the mitochondria (PEPCK-M) and cytosol (PEPCK-C). In this report, we aimed to study the function of PEPCK-M in cancer. The expression of PEPCK-M mRNA and protein was enhanced by artificial inducers of endoplasmic reticulum stress, tunicamycin and brefeldin A, in Huh-7 and ML-1 hepatoma cells. The induction was not affected by mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) inhibitor, but was attenuated with glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β) inhibitor. The endogenous PEPCK-M was suppressed by small interference RNA in Huh-7 cells. Downregulation of PEPCK-M inhibited the cell growth in 10% serum and anchorage-independent growth i
Objective: To observe the clinical effect of combining acupuncture and functional training on post-stroke functional impairment of hand. Methods: A total of 165 cases who met the inclusion criteria ...were randomized into a treatment group (85 cases) and a control group (80 cases). Cases in the treatment group were treated with routine acupuncture points plus Shixuan (EX-UE 11) and Xiaohai (SI 8), whereas cases in the control group were treated with routine acupuncture points alone. After acupuncture, cases in both groups conducted functional training in upper limbs. The finger grip strength and hand function were assessed before and after 3-course treatment. Results: Cases in the treatment group obtained better finger grip strength and hand function than those in the control group (both P〈0.05). Conclusion: In addition to functional training, adding Shixuan (EX-UE 11) and Xiaohai (SI 8) to traditional acupuncture formulae works better for post-stroke functional impairment of hand.
