The recovery of genomes from metagenomic datasets is a critical step to defining the functional roles of the underlying uncultivated populations. We previously developed MaxBin, an automated binning ...approach for high-throughput recovery of microbial genomes from metagenomes. Here we present an expanded binning algorithm, MaxBin 2.0, which recovers genomes from co-assembly of a collection of metagenomic datasets. Tests on simulated datasets revealed that MaxBin 2.0 is highly accurate in recovering individual genomes, and the application of MaxBin 2.0 to several metagenomes from environmental samples demonstrated that it could achieve two complementary goals: recovering more bacterial genomes compared to binning a single sample as well as comparing the microbial community composition between different sampling environments.

•Cold plate cooling of prismatic Li-ion battery under 5C discharging is modeled.•Temperature patterns on Li-ion battery with cold plate cooling are discussed.•Thermal responses of Li-ion battery ...under external shorting are simulated.•3D thermal modeling of 50 V Li-ion battery pack with 14 20 Ah cells is performed.•Multi-scale multi-domain modeling is demonstrated for large Li-ion battery pack.
In this work, three-dimensional (3D) thermal modeling of a single Li-ion battery cell and a 50 V Li-ion battery pack composed of 14 prismatic batteries is performed. Equivalent circuit model is used for subscale electrochemical modeling. The heat generated by electrical resistance and electrochemistry reactions is then solved in the cell domain which resolves the heat transfer in battery and battery pack. The modeling provides highly resolved temporal 3D insight into thermal and battery dynamics under fast discharging and abusive condition. It is found that with low coolant velocity, the cell temperature easily exceeds 40 °C, and temperature non-uniformity exceeds the limit value of 5 °C under 5C discharging condition; and under external shorting condition, temperature rises fast and reaches the 80 °C point quickly which can further trigger thermal runaway. On the other hand, with adequate coolant flow rate, the cell temperature and temperature gradients are effectively limited to tolerable level under both 5C discharging and external shorting conditions. Thus, coolant rate needs to be carefully designed to prevent high temperature and localized high temperature spot in Li-ion battery. The modeling method used in this study can be applied to general Li-ion battery and Li-ion battery pack designing.
A wideband folded reflectarray antenna (FRA) operating in a frequency band of 11-15 GHz is proposed in this communication. It consists of novel dual-polarization elements with high orthogonal ...polarization isolation. A two-layer element structure is used to control the reflection phase of two orthogonally polarized waves independently and the element presents a large phase variation of about 700° and approximately linear phase curves. Meanwhile, the multifrequency phase matching method is applied in the FRA design. A 30% bandwidth for a 1-dB gain drop, a peak aperture efficiency of 49.1%, and sidelobe levels below -14 dB are achieved. Factors with strong influences on the aperture efficiency are discussed. The simulated results are experimentally verified by an FRA prototype fed by an open-ended waveguide.
This article explores the charitable activities of Chinese Buddhists in Beijing in the first decades of the twentieth century, with a focus on Buddhists’ efforts in building schools and promoting ...modern education. Specifically, the activities led by Venerable Zongyue 宗月 (1880–1941) are examined, in his role spearheading various Buddhist charitable activities in Beijing, including building several schools for commoners (pingmin xuexiao 平民學校) in the 1920s. Zongyue also established a library and a Buddhist newspaper called Fobao Xunkan 佛寶旬刊 to promote ideas about philanthropy. In the late 1920s, inspired by Zongyue’s example, as well as under pressure from the government during the anti-superstition campaigns, many other temples in Beijing began building schools to offer educational opportunities to students. This article investigates the interactions between Buddhism, education, and the government. By examining the initiatives started by Zongyue and the role of Chinese Buddhists in promoting charitable educational activities and social change, this article sheds light on the broader impact of Buddhism on Chinese society in the early twentieth century.
The relationship between the type of anesthesia and the survival outcomes of gastric cancer patients is uncertain. This study compared the overall outcome of gastric cancer patients after surgery ...with total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) or inhalation anesthesia (IHA).
Clinicopathological variables of gastric cancer patients were retrieved from the database of the Surgical Gastric Cancer Patient Registry in West China Hospital, Sichuan University. Patients were grouped according to whether they received TIVA or IHA during the operation. Propensity score (PS) matching was used to balance the baseline variables, and survival outcomes were compared between these two groups. In addition, studies comparing survival outcomes between TIVA and IHA used for gastric cancer surgery and published before April 20th, 2020, were identified, and their data were pooled.
A total of 2827 patients who underwent surgical treatment from Jan 2009 to Dec 2016 were included. There were 323 patients in the TIVA group and 645 patients in the IHA group, with 1:2 PS matching. There was no significant difference in overall survival outcomes between the TIVA and IHA groups before matching the cohort (p = 0.566) or after matching the cohort (p = 0.679) by log-rank tests. In the Cox hazard regression model, there was no significant difference between the TIVA and IHA groups before (HR: 1.054, 95% CI: 0.881-1.262, p = 0.566) or after (HR: 0.957, 95% CI: 0.779-1.177, p = 0.679) PS matching. The meta-analysis of survival outcomes between the TIVA and IHA groups found critical statistical value in the before PS matching cohort (HR 0.74, 95% CI: 0.57-0.96 p < 0.01) and after PS matching cohort (HR: 0.65, 95% CI: 0.46-0.94, p < 0.01).
Combined with the results of previous studies, total intravenous anesthesia has been shown to be superior to inhalation anesthesia in terms of overall survival for gastric cancer patients undergoing surgical treatment. The selection of intravenous or inhalation anesthesia for gastric cancer surgery should take into account the long-term prognosis of the patient.

In this paper, we utilize Hamacher operations and power aggregation operators to develop some Pythagorean fuzzy Hamacher power aggregation operators: Pythagorean fuzzy Hamacher power average (PFHPA) ...operator, Pythagorean fuzzy Hamacher power geometric (PFHPG) operator, Pythagorean fuzzy Hamacher power weighted average (PFHPWA) operator, Pythagorean fuzzy Hamacher power weighted geometric (PFHPWG) operator, Pythagorean fuzzy Hamacher power ordered weighted average (PFHPOWA) operator, Pythagorean fuzzy Hamacher power ordered weighted geometric (PFHPOWG) operator, Pythagorean fuzzy Hamacher power hybrid average (PFHPHA) operator and Pythagorean fuzzy Hamacher power hybrid geometric (PFHPHG) operator. The prominent characteristic of these proposed operators are studied. Then, we utilize these operators to develop some approaches to solve the multiple attribute decision making problems with Pythagorean fuzzy numbers (PFNs). Finally, a practical example is given to verify the developed approach and deliver a comparative analysis.

Numerous companies are expecting their knowledge management (KM) to be performed effectively in order to leverage and transform the knowledge into competitive advantages. However, here raises a ...critical issue of how companies can better evaluate and select a favorable KM strategy prior to a successful KM implementation. The KM strategy selection is a kind of multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem, which requires considering a large number of complex factors as multiple evaluation criteria. A robust MCDM method should consider the interactions among criteria. The analytic network process (ANP) is a relatively new MCDM method which can deal with all kinds of interactions systematically. Moreover, the Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) not only can convert the relations between cause and effect of criteria into a visual structural model, but also can be used as a way to handle the inner dependences within a set of criteria. Hence, this paper proposes an effective solution based on a combined ANP and DEMATEL approach to help companies that need to evaluate and select KM strategies. Additionally, an empirical study is presented to illustrate the application of the proposed method.
Background
Early diagnosis of liver metastasis is of great importance for enhancing the survival of colorectal adenocarcinoma (CAD) patients, and the combined use of a single biomarker in a classier ...model has shown great improvement in predicting the metastasis of several types of cancers. However, it is little reported for CAD. This study therefore aimed to screen an optimal classier model of CAD with liver metastasis and explore the metastatic mechanisms of genes when applying this classier model.
Methods
The differentially expressed genes between primary CAD samples and CAD with metastasis samples were screened from the Moffitt Cancer Center (MCC) dataset GSE131418. The classification performances of six selected algorithms, namely, LR, RF, SVM, GBDT, NN, and CatBoost, for classification of CAD with liver metastasis samples were compared using the MCC dataset GSE131418 by detecting their classification test accuracy. In addition, the consortium datasets of GSE131418 and GSE81558 were used as internal and external validation sets to screen the optimal method. Subsequently, functional analyses and a drug‐targeted network construction of the feature genes when applying the optimal method were conducted.
Results
The optimal CatBoost model with the highest accuracy of 99%, and an area under the curve of 1, was screened, which consisted of 33 feature genes. A functional analysis showed that the feature genes were closely associated with a “steroid metabolic process” and “lipoprotein particle receptor binding” (eg APOB and APOC3). In addition, the feature genes were significantly enriched in the “complement and coagulation cascade” pathways (eg FGA, F2, and F9). In a drug‐target interaction network, F2 and F9 were predicted as targets of menadione.
Conclusion
The CatBoost model constructed using 33 feature genes showed the optimal classification performance for identifying CAD with liver metastasis.
APOB, APOC3, FGA, F2, F9, and NKX2‐3 were potential biomarkers for classification of CAD with liver metastasis. Menadione might be a promising anti‐metastatic drug of CAD cells through functioning its role at sites of F2 and F9. CatBoost model constructed by 33 feature genes showed the optimal classification performance for identifying CAD liver metastasis.

Attribute subset selection is an important issue in data mining and information processing. However, most automatic methodologies consider only the relevance factor between samples while ignoring the ...diversity factor. This may not allow the utilization value of hidden information to be exploited. For this reason, we propose a hybrid model named intuitionistic fuzzy (IF) rough set to overcome this limitation. The model combines the technical advantages of rough set and IF set and can effectively consider the above-mentioned statistical factors. First, fuzzy information granules based on IF relations are defined and used to characterize the hierarchical structures of the lower and upper approximations of IF rough set within the framework of granular computing. Then, the computation of IF rough approximations and knowledge reduction in IF information systems are investigated. Third, based on the approximations of IF rough set, significance measures are developed to evaluate the approximation quality and classification ability of IF relations. Furthermore, a forward heuristic algorithm for finding one optimal reduct of IF information systems is developed using these measures. Finally, numerical experiments are conducted on public datasets to examine the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed algorithm in terms of the number of selected attributes, computational time, and classification accuracy.
