Bioassays are required for the integrated evaluation of water pollution, as physical and chemical tests alone are not sufficient enough for the assessment of potential effects on aquatic organisms. ...In this study, invertebrate crustacean Artemia salina was applied as a indicator to assess the water quality of Hangzhou Section of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. According to the result, improvement in water quality was observed between October 2008 and April 2009. It proved A. salina was sensitive in detecting toxicity in water quality.
In this paper, we constructed a three-dimensional dynamic simulator for HitMSR II which is a module self-reconfigurable robot system composed of single-rotational-freedom modules. Downhill Simplex ...Optimization Algorithm were used to evolve the locomotion of the robot ensuring that it is possible to get access to the relatively more optimized locomotion gaits parameters after large enough numbers of iterative calculations under a certain evaluation function. What’s more. We selected worm-shaped configuration to research on the validation of locomotive evolution both in simulation and experiment.

An advanced static VAr generator (ASVG) can be beneficial to power systems in many ways. In order to evaluate its dynamic performance, the device should be modeled appropriately in transient studies. ...This paper describes the dynamic behavior of ASVG in balanced systems and unbalanced systems. When bus voltage becomes unbalanced due to asymmetrical power systems failure or symmetrical operation, the negative sequence voltage component will cause negative sequence and 3-order harmonic voltage on the AC side of the ASVG. A model is presented for the transient stability studies in unbalanced systems.

In this thesis a parallel energy transformation circuit is implemented by a combination of a boost-flyback converter and a forward converter. The boost-flyback converter is ...with direct power conversion and power factor correction, and the forward converter can regulate the output voltage. Therefore, the power factor and the efficiency of the whole converter system can be effectively improved. Besides, a digital signal processor (DSP) is used to implement the functions of voltage-follower control, soft-starting, and overvoltage protection. The simulation and test of the circuit prototype were performed, and the results satisfy the requirements of high power factor and efficiency.
