The present study aims at examining the effects of priming conditions and syntactic features on syntactic production of syntactically indeterminate verbs by experiments taking English L2 learners as ...subjects. The results show that: 1) syntactic features have a main effect in syntactic production, which is influenced by complexity of semantic structures of lexicons and form-meaning relationship of sentences; 2) priming conditions have no apparent priming effect in syntactic production, but there is an interactional effect between priming conditions and syntactic features; 3) there is a graduation of priming effect in different priming conditions, suggesting that priming effects are mediated by syntactic features. The study lends support to the argument that syntactic representation is constrained by rule-based memory and syntactic features. Syntactic priming activates and maintains the processing of rule-based memory while suppressing the activation of competitive structures. The study also indicates that the
The connexin protein family consists of approximately 20 members, and is well recognized as the structural unit of the gap junction channels that perforate the plasma membranes of coupled cells and, ...thereby, mediate intercellular communication. Gap junctions are assembled by two preexisting hemichannels on the membranes of apposing cells. Non-junctional connexin hemichannels (CxHC) provide a conduit between the cell interior and the extracellular milieu, and are believed to be in a protectively closed state under physiological conditions. The development and characterization of the peptide mimetics of the amino acid sequences of connexins have resulted in the development of a panel of blockers with a higher selectivity for CxHC, which have become important tools for defining the role of CxHC in various biological processes. It is increasingly clear that CxHC can be induced to open by pathogen-associated molecular patterns. The opening of CxHC facilitates the release of damage-associated molecular patterns, a class of endogenous molecules that are critical for the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases. The blockade of CxHC leads to attenuated inflammation, reduced tissue injury and improved organ function in human and animal models of about thirty inflammatory diseases and disorders. These findings demonstrate that CxHC may contribute to the intensification of inflammation, and serve as a common target in the treatments of various inflammatory diseases. In this review, we provide an update on the progress in the understanding of CxHC, with a focus on the role of these channels in inflammatory diseases.
NUT (nuclear protein in testis) midline carcinoma (NMC) is a rapidly progressive tumor arising from midline structures. Recent cases have reported that the poor prognosis with a median survival of ...6.7 months and a 2 years overall survival of 19% due to limited treatment. Based on the effect of arotinib on inhibiting tumor growth and angiogenesis. We present one patient case treated with anlotinib and radiotherapy.
Here, we describe a 33-year old patient who complained of cough and chest pain and was diagnosed as a pulmonary NMC through CT scan, FISH and immunohistochemistry. In addition, we initially demonstrated that anlotinib combined with palliative radiotherapy could significantly prevent the tumor growth in a pulmonary NMC.
The report indicated that anlotinib combined with palliative radiotherapy could inhibit the tumor progression in a pulmonary NMC, which may provide a combined therapy to pulmonary NMC in the future.
This study draws on usage-based approach to language learning and investigates the role of syntactical indeterminacy and token frequency in constructional acquisition, for which reflexive verb ...constructions were selected as the testing field. Syntactic structures of reflexive verbs are either by reflexive constructions or adjectival passive, which have a polysemous interrelationship within the verb. To examine whether syntactic indeterminacy and token frequency play a role in the acquisition of reflexive verb constructions, a test of reflexive verb constructions and a baseline test formed with transitive verbs were developed and administered to L2 learners of an intermediate proficiency level. The findings show: (1) L2 reflexive verb constructions were less acquired than transitive constructions, suggesting that syntactic indeterminacy had an impact upon sentence production; (2) no significant difference was found between the productions of reflexive constructions and adjectival passives, but descriptive statistics showed that learners were attracted to the adjectival passive for production; (3) production of both syntactic structures reflected token frequency trend from COCA, indicating the important role of frequency in complex constructional acquisition.
Urban greening is an effective measure to reduce the cooling load of buildings. In this paper, the cycle coupling simulation strategy of PHOENICS numerical simulation software and EnergyPlus energy ...consumption prediction software is established, the outdoor temperature and humidity of typical meteorological month are predicted by multiple regression method. The impact of tree characteristics and foundation layout on the thermal environment of the community is analyzed, and the impact of the building cooling load index and residential energy consumption in the neighborhood is evaluated. The results showed that the canopy height increased by 2 m, the temperature decreased by 0.5%, the wind speed decreased by 5.5%, the relative humidity increased by 1%; the leaf area index (LAI) increased by 1, the temperature decreased by 0.4%, 10%, 0.7%. The order of influence on building energy consumption is: layout > crown height > LAI.
Breast cancer is a common malignant tumor, which severely threatens the health of women with an increasing incidence in many countries. Here, we identified C10orf10 as a novel differentially ...expression gene using expression microarray screening. The expression analysis indicated that C10orf10 was frequently decreased in human breast cancers compared to noncancerous breast tissues (81/95, P = 0.0063). Kaplan-Meier analysis indicated that patients with low C10orf10 expression showed a poorer prognosis both in mRNA (n = 1115, P = 0.0013) and protein (n = 100, P = 0.003) levels. Univariate and multivariate analysis showed that the C10orf10 expression was an independent prognostic factor for overall survival of breast cancer patients. Further analysis revealed that low expression of C10orf10 was an unfavorable factor for the prognosis of the patients who were luminal A, luminal B, Her2+ subtypes, at histological grade 2, lymph node negative and ER positive. Our data provided the first evidence that C10orf10 expression was frequently decreased in breast cancer tissues, and low expression of C10orf10 may be an important prognostic factor for poorer survival time of breast cancer patients.

Morphology is said to play a role in word acquisition. English psych adjectives are identified
as a category of words with morphological complex gradience, which consists of free morphs,
derivatives ...and inflections. Due to their morphological features, psych adjectives were
considered the ideal candidates to test the effect of morphology on word acquisition. This study
adopted a within-group research design, where a controlled productive test and a receptive
knowledge test were developed and administered to English learners of an intermediate level.
Results suggested that acquisition of the inflections was significantly different from that of
free morphs and derivatives in the controlled productive test, but no difference was found
in the receptive knowledge test. Comparisons of the two tests for the three word groups
showed that the only significant difference occurred in the inflection word group. The overall
results revealed that learners experienced much more difficulty in acquiring inflectional
psych adjectives. In light of the dissociation of associative memory and rule memory, two
possible explanations for the learning problems were offered: 1) learners failed to represent the
inflections in associative memory, or 2) they have not proceduralized the morphology rules in
rule memory.
Due to the paradox between abrasion-resistance and extinction, the development of a self-matting waterborne polyurethane (SMWPU) coating accompanied by excellent abrasion-resistance is still a ...challenge. Herein, a kind of hydroxyalkyl-terminated polysiloxane modified SMWPU was prepared and employed for matting leather/synthetic leather finishing. Simultaneously, the influences of hydrophilic chain extender and polysiloxane loadings on the matting effect and abrasion resistance of the coating were investigated in detail. The results indicated that the gloss of the coating was closely related to the hydrophilic chain extender content, and a stable emulsion and optimal matting effect could be achieved when a 1.6 wt% (based on solid content) hydrophilic chain extender was employed. With the introduction of polysiloxane, the silicon element content on the coating surface increased from 0% to 9.26%, just as expected, and an enhanced abrasion resistance of the coating was obtained. Specifically, the coating weight loss ratio was reduced from 2.36 wt% to 0.41 wt%, and obvious surface damage did not occur after 500 abrasions. Although the surface roughness and matting effect of the coating decreased slightly due to the introduction of silicone, the gloss of the modified coating was less than 1.5° (60° incidence angle), still exhibiting an excellent matting effect. Another interesting result was the elevation of anti-hot-pressing, compared with that of the unmodified one, and the gloss of the modified coating showed no changes under a 10 MPa, 150 °C hot-pressing condition.
Due to the paradox between abrasion-resistance and extinction, the development of a self-matting waterborne polyurethane (SMWPU) coating accompanied by excellent abrasion-resistance is still a challenge.

A novel polyether siloxane diol (PESD) was synthesized via a hydrosilylation between dihydride-terminated polydimethylsiloxane and allyl polyoxyethylene epoxy ether and a ring-opening reaction. As reactive surface energy regulator for solvent-free two-package polyurethane (2 K-PU), the effect of PESD loading on the wetting and adhesive ability of 2 K-PU on non-polar substrates was investigated. Results showed that with introduction of PESD, surface tension of 2 K-PU was decreased from 37.0 to 25.0 mN/m, and the wetting and adhesive ability of modified 2 K-PU on non-polar substrates were significantly improved. Furthermore, ≤4 wt% PESD modified 2 K-PU coatings showed high transmittance, enhanced water repellency and mechanical properties.
To enhance the lubrication performance of the crankpin bearing (CB) at the elastic hydrodynamic lubrication regime (EHLR), the spherical dimples (SD) of the partial textures (PT) is designed on the ...EHLR of the CB. Based on a hydrodynamic model of the slider-crank mechanism (SCM) combined with the CB lubrication and a multi-objective optimization program of the genetic algorithm (MOGA), the initial design parameters of PT including the depth h
sij and the diameter D
ij of each SD defined as chromosomes in the MOGA are then optimized to further enhance the CB’s lubrication performance. Three indexes of the oil film pressure p, friction force F
f, and friction coefficient μ of the CB are chosen as the objective functions. The research results indicate that based on the optimal approach of the MOGA with its good stability and repeatability, the CB’s lubrication performance is remarkably improved by the optimal parameters in comparison with the initial parameters of the SD. Particularly, at the EHLR of the CB, both the maximum values of the p and F
f are significantly reduced by 7.7% and 14.6% compared to the initial parameters of the PT; and by 8.6% and 19.9% in comparison with the initial parameters of the full textures (FT) designed on the bearing surface. Thus the application of the MOGA to optimize the SD design parameters can better improve the lubrication performance and durability of the CB of an engine.
