A joint operation planning method for integrated energy storage systems considering reliability is proposed. Firstly, the planning of the power exchange level of the energy storage system is achieved ...by calculating the optimal power exchange level of the supercapacitor, constructing a model for the optimal configuration of the two-layer energy storage, and using an algorithm for the solution of the model to optimise it. In the experiments, the joint operation planning performance of the proposed method is verified. The experimental results show that the model prediction accuracy is high when the proposed method is used for the joint planning of the integrated energy storage system, and has a more satisfactory joint operation planning performance.
Multiple description coding (MDC) provides a favorable solution for human-centered image communication, which takes into account people’s varying watching situations as well as people’s demand for ...real-time image display. As an effective technique for MDC, three-description lattice vector quantization (3D-LVQ) is considered for image coding in this paper. Based on intra- and inter-correlation in the 3D-LVQ index assignment as well as wavelet intra-subband correlation, a novel predictive decoding method for 3D-LVQ-based image coding is proposed to enhance side decoding performance, which attempts to predict lost descriptions (sublattice points) in a good way for better reconstructions of wavelet vectors (fine lattice points) in the side decoding. Experimental results validate effectiveness of the proposed decoding scheme in terms of rate-distortion performance.

Cunninghamia lanceolata (C. lanceolata) is the main fast-growing timber species in southern China. As an alternative to conventional lighting systems, LED has been demonstrated to be an artificial ...flexible lighting source for commercial micropropagation. The application of LED can provide rapid propagation of C. lanceolata in vitro culture.
We applied two-factor randomized block design to study the effects of LED photoperiods and light qualities on the growth and chlorophyll fluorescence of C. lanceolata in vitro culture plantlets. In this study, plantlets were exposed to 20 μmol·m
·s
irradiance for three photoperiods, 8, 16, and 24 h under the three composite lights, 88.9% red+ 11.1% blue (R/B), 80.0% red+ 10.0% blue+ 10.0% purple (R/B/P), 72.7% red+ 9.1% blue+ 9.1% purple+ 9.1% green (R/B/P/G), as well as white light (12.7% red+ 3.9% blue+ 83.4% green, W) as control. The results showed that: (1) Plant height, dry weight, rooting rate, average root number, length, surface area and volume, chlorophyll, and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters were significantly affected by photoperiods, light qualities and their interactions. (2) Plantlets subjected to photoperiod 16 h had longer root, higher height, rooting rate, root number, and the higher levels of chlorophyll, chlorophyll a/b, Y (II), qP, NPQ/4 and ETR
compared to photoperiods 8 h and 24 h, while Fv/Fm during photoperiod 16 h was lower than 8 h and 24 h. Plantlets exposed to R/B/P/G generated more root and presented higher chlorophyll, Fv/Fo, Y (II), qP, and ETR
than W during photoperiods 8 and 16 h. (3) Total chlorophyll content and ETR
were significant correlated with rooting rate, root length and root volume, while Fv/Fm and ETR
were significant correlated with plant height, average root number and root surface area. (4) 16-R/B/P/G is best for growing C. lanceolata plantlets in vitro.
This study demonstrated the effectiveness of photoperiods and light qualities using LEDs for micropropagation of C. lanceolata. The best plantlets were harvested under 16-R/B/P/G treatment. And there was a correlation between the growth and the chlorophyll and chlorophyll fluorescence of their leaves under different photoperiod and light quality. These results can contribute to improve the micropropagation process of this species.

The purpose is to study the influence of virtual entrepreneurship practice on entrepreneurial talent cultivation and innovation and entrepreneurship education in higher education institutions. First, ...a questionnaire is designed from three aspects: entrepreneurial awareness, entrepreneurial psychological quality, and entrepreneurial knowledge structure. Afterward, the questionnaire is issued to 200 students from a college in Shaanxi province, and SPSS 25 is chosen to analyze and characterize the virtual entrepreneurship practice education and the innovation and entrepreneurship education in higher education institutions. The results show that among all the subjects, nearly 20% of them do not understand entrepreneurship, nearly 85% of them concern about the risk of entrepreneurship, and nearly 70% of them take a negative attitude toward entrepreneurial failure. Meanwhile, the subjects have not formed an independent view on entrepreneurship, the subjects’ basic entrepreneurial quality is poor, their entrepreneurship awareness is weak, and their entrepreneurial psychological quality is poor. The subjects lack entrepreneurial quality rather than entrepreneurial knowledge. Finally, some suggestions are put forward on education on virtual entrepreneurship practice in higher education institutions from four aspects: improving the external environment of entrepreneurship, improving the entrepreneurship curriculum in higher education institutions, improving the teaching staff, and developing the practice bases for entrepreneurship education. The results provide some ideas about promoting the comprehensive reform of talent training mode in higher education institutions.
Background The C-X-C chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) has been suggested to play an important role in several types of cancers and is related to biological behaviors connected with tumor progression. ...However, the clinical significance and application of CXCR4 in lung cancer remain disputable. Thus, we conducted a meta-analysis to investigate the impact of CXCR4 expression on survival and clinicopathological features in lung cancer. Methods Comprehensive literature searches were conducted in PubMed, Embase and Web of Science for relevant studies. We pooled hazard ratios (HRs)/odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) by STATA 12.0 to evaluate the potential value of CXCR4 expression. Results Twenty-seven relevant articles involving 2932 patients with lung cancer were included in our meta-analysis. The results revealed that CXCR4 expression was apparently associated with poor overall survival (OS) (HR 1.61, 95% CI 1.42-1.82) and disease-free survival (HR 3.39, 95% CI 2.38-4.83). Furthermore, a significant correlation with poor OS was obvious in non-small cell lung cancer patients (HR 1.59, 95% CI 1.40-1.81) and in patients showing CXCR4 expression in the cytoplasm (HR 2.10, 95% CI 1.55-2.84) and the membrane (HR 1.74, 95% CI 1.24-2.45). CXCR4 expression was significantly associated with men (OR 1.32, 95% CI 1.08-1.61), advanced tumor stages (T3-T4) (OR 2.34, 95% CI 1.28-4.28), advanced nodal stages (N > 0) (OR 2.34, 95% CI 1.90-2.90), distant metastasis (OR 3.65, 95% CI 1.53-8.69), advanced TNM stages (TNM stages III, IV) (OR 3.10, 95% CI 1.95-4.93) and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) expression (OR 2.44, 95% CI 1.44-4.12) but was not associated with age, smoking history, histopathology, differentiation, lymphatic vessel invasion or local recurrence. Conclusion High expression of CXCR4 is related to tumor progression and might be an adverse prognostic factor for lung cancer. Flexible bioelectronics for biomedical applications requires a stretchable, conductive, self-healable, and biocompatible material that can be obtained by cost-effective chemicals and strategies. ...Herein, we synthesized polypyrrole or Zn-functionalized chitosan molecules, which are cross-linked with poly(vinyl alcohol) to form a hydrogel through dynamic di-diol complexations, hydrogen bonding, and zinc-based coordination bonds. These multiple dynamic interactions endow the material with excellent stretchability and autonomous self-healing ability. The choice of Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved materials (poly(vinyl alcohol) and chitosan) as the matrix materials ensures the good biocompatibility of the hydrogel. The conductivity contributed by the polypyrrole allowed the hydrogel to sense strain and temperature, and the coordinated Zn significantly enhanced the antibacterial activity of the hydrogel. Moreover, using a diabetic rat model, we have proved that this hydrogel is capable of promoting the healing of the infected chronic wounds with electrical stimulation.
Generally, individual microplastics (MPs) or lead (Pb) exposure could initiate ovarian toxicity. However, their combined effects on the ovary and its mechanism in mammals remained unclear. Female ...C57BL/6 mice were used in this study to investigate the combined ovarian toxicity of polystyrene MPs (PS-MPs, 0.1 mg/d/mouse) and Pb (1 g/L) for 28 days. Results showed that co-exposure to PS-MPs and Pb increased the accumulation of Pb in ovaries, the histopathological damage in ovaries and uterus, the serum malondialdehyde levels and decreased serum superoxide dismutase and sex hormone levels significantly when compared with single PS-MPs and Pb exposure. These observations indicated that co-exposure exerted more severe toxicity to mouse ovaries and uterus. Furthermore, co-exposure to PS-MPs and Pb caused endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress by activating the PERK/eIF2α signaling pathway in the ovary, which resulted in apoptosis. However, the oxidative and ovarian damage were alleviated, and the mRNA levels of genes related to the PERK/eIF2α signaling pathway were down-regulated to levels of the control mice in the PS-MPs and Pb co-exposed mice administered with ER stress inhibitor (Salubrinal, Sal) or the antioxidant (N-acetyl-cysteine, NAC). In conclusion, our findings suggested that the combination of PS-MPs and Pb aggravated ovarian toxicity in mice by inducing oxidative stress and activating the PERK/eIF2α signaling pathway, thereby providing a basis for future studies into the combined toxic mechanism of PS-MPs and Pb in mammals.
•PS-MPs and Pb increased the accumulation of Pb in mice ovary.•PS-MPs and Pb aggravated the ovarian toxic effects of PS-MPs and Pb alone.•PS-MPs and Pb induced apoptosis via oxidative stress & activation of PERK/eIF2α.
