It is known that the risk of developing a second primary respiratory or digestive tract tumor is high in treated small cell lung cancers. This study aimed to present a patient with metachronous small ...cell and non-small cell lung cancer. Thirteen years before, the 78-year-old male patient received chemotherapy and radiotherapy due to limited-stage small cell cancer in the right lung. In the 6th year of the follow-up, he underwent right upper lobectomy due to lung epidermoid carcinoma, stage 2B. Over the 7 years following lobectomy, he had been followed without any problems. In small cell lung cancer patients with a survival of more than 2 years, the risk of developing a second primary non-small cell lung cancer is 7-16 times higher compared to those who smoke but do not have cancer. Patients should be followed closely so that a possible metachronous tumor can be detected in the early stages. Key words: Small cell lung cancer; cure; metachronous. Takibinin 6. yilinda evre 2B akciger epidermoid kanser nedeniyle sag ust lobektomi yapildi. Metakron akciger kanseri tanisiyla 7. yilinda halen sorunsuz izlenmektedir. Sagkalim 2 yildan fazla olan kucuk hucreli akciger kanserinde, ikinci primer kucuk hucreli disi akciger kanseri gelisme riski, sigara icen ve kanseri olmayan kisilerle karsilastirildiginda 7-16 kat fazladir. We present the case of a 16-year-old boy admitted with a large mediastinal mass. Both in the mediastinal tru-cut biopsy and the bone marrow biopsy, a malignant small round cell tumor was determined. ...The clinical diagnosis was leukemia or lymphoma. The cytoplasmic CD20 expression was shown on the tumor cells of the mediastinal tru-cut biopsy. Rhabdomyosarcoma was diagnosed by the flow cytometric analysis and immunohistochemical demonstration of muscle markers. Rhabdomyosarcomas are traditionally distinguished from lymphomas by their absence of lymphoid markers such as CD20. But in this case we have encountered CD20 expression in the tumor cells. This finding lead us to conclude that the presence of a lymphoid phenotype does not absolutely exclude the diagnosis of rhabdomyosarcoma.
We analyzed the nationwide pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (PIBD) registry (1998-2016), to evaluate the nutritional status at the time of diagnosis.
Nine types of nutritional status by the ...combination of weight-for-length (<2 years)/body mass index (>2 years) and length/height-for-age with three categories (<-2, -2 to 2, and >2 SD) were described. Malnutrition was defined by WHO criteria. Univariate and multivariate regression analysis was used to identify risk factors for malnutrition.
In total, 824 IBD patients (498 Ulcerative colitis (UC); 289 Crohn's Disease (CD); 37 Indeterminate Colitis (IC); 412 male; the median age 12.5 years) were eligible. The prevalence of eutrophy, wasting/thinness, stunting, overweight, tall stature, concurrent wasting/thinness and stunting, tall stature with overweight, tall stature with wasting/thinness, and short stature with overweight were 67.4%, 14.9%, 6.6%, 3.1%, 3.2%, 3.3%, 1.1%, 0.4%, and 0.1%, respectively. The prevalence of malnutrition was 32.7%, indicating a higher prevalence in CD (p < 0.001). Incidence of overweight was less common in the CD than UC and IC (p < 0.001). Multivariate analysis revealed that age of onset (>10 years), prepubertal stage, severe disease activity, perianal involvement, and high C reactive protein level were independently associated with malnutrition in pediatric IBD.
We showed the frequency of nutritional impairment in PIBD. The percentage of overweight subjects was lower than the other studies. The age of onset, disease activity, CRP level, perianal involvement, and pubertal stage were associated with a higher risk for developing malnutrition. Our results also confirmed that CD patients are particularly vulnerable to nutritional impairment.

Two semi-leafless and four leafed pea (Pisum sativum L.) genotypes were evaluated for plant height, lodging scores,
and forage yield in eight diverse locations with typical Mediterranean or ...Mediterranean-type climate in the 2001-2002
and 2002-2003 growing seasons. The genotypes used in this study were forage type with indeterminate growing habit.
Significant differences among pea genotypes were found for all traits over years and locations. All interactions which
related to G × E interaction showed significance (P>0.01) for all traits. The forage yield of the pea genotypes averaged
26605 kg ha-1 and the highest yield was obtained from the leafed genotype Urunlu. Its forage yield reached to 35970
kg ha-1 yield level at Samsun location.

Takibinin altıncı yılında Evre 2B akciğer epidermoid kanser nedeniyle sağ üst lobektomi yapıldı. Metakron akciğer kanseri tanısıyla yedinci yılında halen sorunsuz takip edilmektedir. Sağkalım iki yıldan fazla olan küçük hücreli akciğer kanserinde, ikinci primer küçük hücreli dışı akciğer kanseri gelişme riski, sigara içen ve kanseri olmayan kişilerle karşılaştırıldığında 7-16 kat fazladır. Olgular yakın takip edilmeli ve olası bir metakron tümör erken evrede yakalanmalıdır.
