We survey recent results connected with constructing a new family of solutions of the Korteweg-de Vries equation, which we call primitive solutions. These solutions are constructed as limits of ...rapidly vanishing solutions of the Korteweg-de Vries equation as the number of solitons tends to infinity. A primitive solution is determined nonuniquely by a pair of positive functions on an interval on the imaginary axis and a function on the real axis determining the reflection coefficient. We show that elliptic one-gap solutions and, more generally, periodic finite-gap solutions are special cases of reflectionless primitive solutions.
Prognosis of neuropsychiatric disorders in progeny requires consideration of individual (1) parent-of-origin effects (POEs) relying on (2) the nerve cell nuclear 3D chromatin architecture and (3) ...impact of parent-specific miRNAs. Additionally, the shaping of cognitive phenotypes in parents depends on both learning acquisition and forgetting, or memory erasure. These processes are independent and controlled by different signal cascades: the first is cAMPdependent, the second relies on actin remodeling by small GTPase Rac1 – LIMK1 (LIM-kinase 1). Simple experimental model systems such as Drosophila help probe the causes and consequences leading to human neurocognitive pathologies. Recently, we have developed a Drosophila model for Williams–Beuren Syndrome (WBS): a mutant

of the
agnostic
locus (X:11AB) harboring the
dlimk1
gene. The
agn
ts3
mutation drastically increases the frequency of ectopic contacts (FEC) in specific regions of intercalary heterochromatin, suppresses learning/memory and affects locomotion. As is shown in this study, the polytene X chromosome bands in reciprocal hybrids between
agn
ts3
and the wild type strain
Berlin
are heterogeneous in modes of FEC regulation depending either on maternal or paternal gene origin. Bioinformatic analysis reveals that FEC between X:11AB and the other X chromosome bands correlates with the occurrence of short (~30 bp) identical DNA fragments partly homologous to Drosophila 372-bp satellite DNA repeat. Although learning acquisition in a conditioned courtship suppression paradigm is similar in hybrids, the middle-term memory formation shows patroclinic inheritance. Seemingly, this depends on changes in miR-974 expression. Several parameters of locomotion demonstrate heterosis. Our data indicate that the
agn
ts3
locus is capable of trans-regulating gene activity via POEs on the chromatin nuclear organization, thereby affecting behavior.
When crystals of four polymorphs - a stable alpha -form and three metastable ones ( beta -, gamma -, delta -forms) - are simultaneously present in a pressure cell, immersed in a 1 : 1 ...pentane-isopentane mixture, the least stable beta -form recrystallises exclusively into the gamma -form (if no delta -form seed is present) or concomitantly into the gamma - and delta -forms (if a seed of the delta -form is present). However, the beta -form never recrystallises to the stable alpha -form, even if the latter is also present as a potential seed.
Our objective was to apply next-generation sequence-based DNA barcoding to identify the remnant larval bloodmeals in wild-caught host-seeking (unengorged) Ixodes scapularis nymphs (n = 216). To infer ...host species identification, vertebrate DNA was amplified using universal primers for cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) and sequenced using next-generation sequencing (NGS) for comparison against known barcode references.
Bloodmeal identification was unsuccessful in most samples (99% of 216 specimens) demonstrating a very low detection rate of this assay. Sequences that surpassed quality thresholds were obtained for 41.7% of nymphs (n = 90) and of those, confident species identification was obtained for 15.6% of nymphs (n = 14). Wild host identifications were only obtained from 2 specimens, where DNA from the eastern grey squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) was identified. Human and bovine DNA was identified in remaining nymphs and considered to be contaminants. Further optimization of the technique is required to improve detection of remnant bloodmeals in host-seeking nymphs.
A comprehensive analysis of the composition of the alluvium of the river with active gas–hydrothermal occurrences has been carried out for the first time. Common features in the lower and middle ...reaches of the Geysernaya River include poor roundness of boulders and pebbles (grades 1–2), poor grading of alluvium fine-clastic components, abundant rock fragments, and mineral intergrowths even in the fine-sand fraction. All this information is indicative of weak sediment disintegration and a high proportion of slope material in sediments, including that redeposited by mudflows. High contents of smectite–zeolite and other newly formed (secondary) mineral aggregates (up to 70% of the light fraction of 0.1–0.25 mm in size) and altered rock fragments (up to 70–80% in the pebble fraction of alluvium) make it possible to suggest a great effect of gas–hydrothermal activity on the processing of river-eroded rocks, as well as the secondary weathering of the alluvium within the thermal fields. The riverbed deposition is fragmentary and predominant in the areas of (1) the active slope material inflow (temporary dams), (2) flattening of the longitudinal profile in dammed reservoirs, and (3) mudflow material removal. Two dammed reservoirs formed over the past 15 years, as well as fine-sand layers in the low-terrace sediments are indicative of the fact that the Geysernaya River valley is characterized by the periodic formation of such short-lived basins. The deposition conditions of the fine-sand alluvium are different in sections of a single-branch channel and within dammed reservoirs and affect the ratio of the principal minerals of the heavy fraction. Abundant well-rounded gravel and coarse sand and their weathered appearance make it possible to assume that, along with the processing of large volumes of incoming slope and mudflow material, the Geysernaya River continues to cut in and to erode ancient fluvial sediments probably of the pre-caldera stage.
We study a linear system of integral equations of the first kind arising in the problem of wave diffraction by a local permeable body. The equivalence of the system and the original boundary value ...diffraction problem is established. The existence and uniqueness of the solution of the system and the dissipativity of its matrix operator are proved. The questions of the existence of nonradiating currents and their relation to the properties of the matrix operator of the system are considered.
Swallowtail butterflies are recognized as model organisms in ecology, evolutionary biology, genetics, and conservation biology but present numerous unresolved phylogenetic problems. We inferred ...phylogenetic relationships for 51 of about 205 species of the genus Papilio (sensu lato) from 3.3-Kilobase (kb) sequences of mitochondrial and nuclear DNA (2.3 kb of cytochrome oxidases I and II and 1.0 kb of elongation factor 1α). Congruent phylogenetic trees were recovered within Papilio from analyses of combined data using maximum likelihood, Bayesian analysis, and maximum parsimony bootstrap consensus. Several disagreements with the traditional classification of Papilio were found. Five major previously hypothesized subdivisions within Papilio were well supported: Heraclides, Pterourus, Chilasa, Papilio (sensu stricto), and Eleppone. Further studies are required to clarify relationships within traditional “Princeps,” which was paraphyletic. Several biologically interesting characteristics of Papilio appear to have polyphyletic origins, including mimetic adults, larval host associations, and larval morphology. Early diversification within Papilio is estimated at 55–65 million years ago based on a combination of biogeographic time constraints rather than fossils. This divergence time suggests that Papilio has slower apparent substitution rates than do Drosophila and fig-pollinating wasps and/or divergences corrected using best-fit substitution models are still being consistently underestimated. The amount of sequence divergence between Papilio subdivisions is equivalent to divergences between genera in other tribes of the Papilionidae, and between genera of moths of the noctuid subfamily Heliothinae.

The article analyzes the current situation in the Russian labor market, which affects all its participants such as employing organizations and employees of various professions, specialties, and skill ...levels. All participants of the labor market either justify their expectations or face the need to revise them depending on the influence of various factors. The features of labor conditions that potential employees pay attention to in newly changed conditions have been identified. These include the remuneration size, the possibility of working time rational organization and finding a balance between work time and rest time, the presence of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DIE) concept in the organization environment. The tendencies of jobs creation and elimination in the labor market have been considered. The most rational ways of regulating the jobs number in accordance with the needs of the organization have been shown: job replacement – new high-tech jobs creation while eliminating obsolete existing ones. The skills of workers in high-tech positions that are most in demand from the employers’ point of view have been given. The main trends in the use of young specialists in the in-demand professions market have been considered.
Silk fibroin fiber is a unique biopolymer with high potential for medical applications. Dissolution and regeneration of fibroin using traditional solvents causes conformational transformations of the ...native fibroin structure and poor physicomechanical characteristics of materials prepared from it. The supramolecular structure can be regulated during precipitation. Herein, regeneration of fibroin using ionic liquids was investigated using IR spectroscopy and x-ray structure analysis. MeOH was shown to be the strongest precipitant for fibroin solutions in ionic liquids and could produce a supramolecular structure close to that of native fibroin. The fibroin precipitation conditions were mollified if alcohols with hydrocarbon radicals increasing in the order C

Two series of bis-2,5-diphenyloxazolato cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes with substituted 2,2′-bipyridine or dipyridophenazine as the ancillary ligand have been prepared and characterized by ...X-ray structural analysis,

H NMR, and high resolution mass spectrometry. Bipyridine-based complexes exhibited bright emission in the yellow-orange region in solution, whereas their dipyridophenazine analogues demonstrated low quantum yields in the same spectral area. Varying the substituents in the ancillary ligand (CH

, H, COOH) caused noticeable shifts of the long-wavelength absorption bands retaining the redox potentials of the complexes practically unchanged. Crystallization of the complexes with iodine species gave interesting salts containing infinite polyiodide chains forming intermolecular contacts with the π-system of the ligands. Complexes bearing “anchoring” COOH-groups were used in sensitization of titania photoanodes followed by their study under the AM 1.5 G condition.
