The normal mode technique is applied to solve the coupled differential equations and the physical fields are derived. Different mechanical and thermal loads are applied on the surface of the medium. Validation examples are presented and results due to different theories are compared. The effects of the magnetic field parameter and different thermoelasticity theories on all physical fields are investigated.

This paper studies free vibrational behavior of porous nanocomposite shells reinforced with graphene platelets (GPLs). GPLs are uniformly and nonuniformly distributed thorough the thickness ...direction. Different porosity distributions called uniform, symmetric, and asymmetric are considered. The elastic properties of the nanocomposite are obtained by employing Halpin-Tsai micromechanics model. The GPL-reinforced shell is modeled via first order shear deformation theory and Galerkin's method is implemented to obtain vibration frequencies. New results show the importance of porosity coefficient, porosity distribution, GPL distribution, GPL weight fraction, and geometrical and foundation parameters on vibration behavior of porous nanocomposite shells.

In the present paper, a refined trigonometric higher-order plate theory is simply derived, which satisfies the free surface conditions. Moreover, the number of unknowns of this theory is the least ...one comparing with other shear theories. The effects of transverse shear strains as well as the transverse normal strain are taken into account. The number of unknown functions involved in the present theory is only four as against six or more in case of other shear and normal deformation theories. The bending response of FG rectangular plates is presented. A comparison with the corresponding results is made to check the accuracy and efficiency of the present theory. Additional results for all displacements and stresses are investigated through-the-thickness of the FG rectangular plate.
The inclusion of diffusion effect in a photothermal problem of a semiconducting half-space is studied. The modified multi dual-phase-lags model with wide range of terms has been presented. A system ...of five coupled photo-thermo-diffusion differential equations has been exactly solved. The effect of thermal activation parameter is widely investigated. The field quantities are illustrated against the axial and normal directions of the half-space under photo-thermo-diffusion effects. The validation examples are presented to show the accuracy and efficiency of the current multi dual-phase-lags theory. The sensitivity of all field quantities to the variation of the thermal activation parameter is investigated.

In this article, electro-thermo-mechanical vibrational behavior of functionally graded piezoelectric (FGP) plates with porosities is explored via a refined four-variable plate theory for the first ...time. Uniform, linear and nonlinear temperature changes are considered in this study. Electro-elastic material properties of porous FGP plate vary across the thickness based on modified power-law model. The governing equations derived from Hamilton’s principle are solved analytically. The exactness of solution is confirmed by comparing obtained results with those provided in the literature. Influences of applied voltage, porosity distribution, thermal loadings, material gradation, plate geometrical parameters and boundary conditions on the vibrational behavior of FGP plates are discussed. These results can be applied for accurate design of smart structures made of functionally graded piezoelectric materials by considering porosity distribution.
The article presents the interactions of magneto-thermoelastic effects in an isotropic material with a spherical cavity. The spherical cavity is expected to be tractionless and subjected to both heat ...and magnetic fields. The motion equation contains the Lorentz force. Laplace’s transformation methodology is used with a refined multi-time-derivative triple-phase-lag thermoelasticity theory to develop the generalized magneto-thermoelastic coupled solution. Many results were obtained to serve as benchmarks for future comparisons. The effects of time, magnetic field, and electric permittivity under the thermal environment were investigated.

The generalized photo-thermoelastic problem of a thick beam subjected to heat flux and photothermal conditions is studied. A modified multi-phase-lag photo-thermo-elasticity theory has been presented. The photothermal equation is added to other coupling thermoelasticity equations and all have been exactly solved. The state-space technique as well as the photothermal and mechanical conditions at the bounded faces of the beam is used for this purpose. The effect of multi-phase-lag and length-to-thickness ratio on the field quantities against the axial and normal directions of the beam under photothermal impacts is discussed. A validation example is considered to show the accuracy and efficiency of the current multi-phase-lag theory. Final investigations to the field quantities due to various photo-thermo-elastic models are made.
In this paper free vibration and bending analyses of a sandwich microbeam with two integrated piezo-magnetic layers as sensor and actuator are studied. Strain gradient theory of micro-structures is ...used to derive the governing equations of motion. First-order shear deformation theory as well as strain gradient theory is used for this purpose. The micro-piezo-magnetic layers are subjected to applied electric and magnetic potentials. The sandwich microbeam rests on visco-Winkler-Pasternak foundation. Electric and magnetic potentials are assumed as combination of linear function along the thickness direction that reflects applied electric and magnetic potentials and a cosine function that satisfies boundary conditions. Numerical results of this problem investigates the effect of some important parameters of sandwich microplate such as three micro length scale parameters, applied electric and magnetic potentials and parameters of foundation on the magneto-electro-mechanical responses of the problem.
In this paper, size-dependent free vibration analysis of a sandwich nanoplate is presented. The sandwich nanoplate is including an elastic nano core and two piezo-electro-magnetic face-sheets as ...sensor and actuator actuated by electric and magnetic potentials. The sandwich nanoplate is resting on visco-Pasternak's foundation. Hamilton's principle is employed to derive the governing equations of motion based on Kirchhoff plate and nonlocal elasticity theory. The numerical results are presented to study the influence of important parameters of the problem such as applied electric and magnetic potentials, nonlocal parameter and visco-Pasternak's parameters. Furthermore, the influence of various boundary conditions is discussed on the vibration characteristics of the sandwich nanoplate.
In this study, the static response is presented for a simply supported functionally graded rectangular plate subjected to a transverse uniform load. The generalized shear deformation theory obtained ...by the author in other recent papers is used. This theory is simplified by enforcing traction-free boundary conditions at the plate faces. No transversal shear correction factors are needed because a correct representation of the transversal shearing strain is given. Material properties of the plate are assumed to be graded in the thickness direction according to a simple power-law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of the constituents. The equilibrium equations of a functionally graded plate are given based on a generalized shear deformation plate theory. The numerical illustrations concern bending response of functionally graded rectangular plates with two constituent materials. The influences played by transversal shear deformation, plate aspect ratio, side-to-thickness ratio, and volume fraction distributions are studied. The results are verified with the known results in the literature.
